  1. But it's not like the team/management don't want to get the job done, or that they plan mediocrity. If it was that easy we'd win every week. I'm sorry, but it's just bonkers. A total moot point.
  2. The thing it's time to bury is the obsession about back-to-back wins. You're only hurting yourself.
  3. We haven't even won 2 out of 3 league games in a row this season, so it feels like an odd thing to dwell on. At least we've been consistently inconsistent.
  4. Well, we might win. Isn't that the whole point of football, you go with hope not expectation. My post wasn't aimed at you btw.
  5. I don't understand the thinking behind people complaining about us winning one week, then losing the next or complaining that we never win 2 in a row. If we win twice consecutively then great, but how can anyone expect it? What difference does it actually make to our season whether the points are spread out or clustered? Absolutely none. We're 9th, we're effectively 8 points from safety and we've just arrested a slump with an excellent away result and performance. I'd rather concentrate on the positives than bitterly complain about something that is basically meaningless.
  6. Only a minor detail, but it's nice to be closer to 8th than 10th again.
  7. While I don't especially fancy our chances given our recent performances, DU haven't won a league game since losing GMS and Armstrong. Definitely a good time to be playing at Tannadice. We realistically have nothing to lose and hopefully the players can go into the game with less of the fear factor that seemed to overwhelm them in the Ross game.
  8. You can't get a pint at many cinemas and if something like the 50 shades of Grey incident kept recurring at the Grosvenor, you'd imagine they'd eventually have their alcohol license revoked. I agree in principle that we should be able to have a drink during the match, but that doesn't mean it would be worthwhile to reintroduce. The comparison to going without a pie is just plain bizarre.
  9. Folk have plenty of opportunity to drink before and after the game. Is it really a hardship to have a couple of hours off? Asking for trouble if it's reintroduced, unfortunately.
  10. We would be given 4 away games, surely - pretty unfair otherwise. Shows that there's a(nother) flaw to the split system.
  11. Can you think of one manager who comes out and tells fans why he's "dropped" a certain player?
  12. Archie seems to be victim of his own success. He got certain signings wrong - all managers get certain signings wrong so it's a redundant point. As mentioned above, he's learned from them and moved the players on quickly. Constructive criticism is obviously needed on a forum. Our tactics on Friday were frustrating - although I'd maintain that the pitch was our biggest hindrance. It was impossible to play our normal passing game on that pitch, and a few of the players had off nights. It happens. Considering that since Archie became manager he took us unbeaten to the title, and then improved the squad's players and league position incrementally over the past 2 years - all on a very limited budget compared to the rest of the league - I can't begin to understand why anyone would want to change the manager. If it's not a case of wanting Archie Out, why whine every single time something doesn't go our way? Some people on this forum seem to be happier revelling in our failures than celebrating our successes. We're Partick Thistle. Things are not always going to go plan, as much as we all want them to. Try to accept that reality and try to enjoy what is the best Jags team in many a long year.
  13. Bad night, on a terrible pitch against poor and unambitious opposition. We were awful. The sooner we can move on and forget it the better.
  14. I can't see Bannigan not starting. Wouldn't be shocked to see Lawless or possibly Higgy on the bench with both Fraser and Banzo on from the start. Would be interesting to see what would happen if Christie was available - he's made himself pretty much undroppable.
  15. It's live on BT Sport 1 so any live stream of that channel will have it - probably on neolive.net. There's also an android app (not sure if it's on iOS) called "Mobdro" which streams BT Sport (among other channels) although that can be a bit temperamental.
  16. http://www.futhead.com/15/totw/totw20/ http://www.futhead.com/15/players/41546/kris-doolan/ Earns a place on the bench for his Hamilton demolition job!
  17. That is a nice jumper.
  18. Similar to the Keenan situation -in that Lindsay is still very young and inexperienced. I'd rather see both players going out on loan to a lower league club until they're fully prepared for top flight football. No point in fast-tracking either to the first team if they're not ready yet. BRE is a few years older and a lot more experienced - could also be a much more capable player than Lindsay ATM, for all we know.
  19. What's the news with Ben Richards-Everton - should he not be available for us now as well? Just seen the other thread - never mind
  20. But we can't just decide to release him - he's under contract. If this investigation finds that he's broken its terms it surely has to be proven. If we just decided we don't need him any more, he'd either be due all of his remaining wages or at least a sizeable pay-off.
  21. Not sure I accept that McMillan is as good as gone, considering none of us have any idea what the investigation is about. The club/McMillan have made no real comment about it and he's still on full pay 3 weeks into a suspension. I know this may all be a legal issue but if he's 'definitely' leaving I'd have thought he'd be out of the club within the transfer window, which obviously shuts very soon. Surprised that's it's taking so long to resolve.
