  1. SOD will be almost impossible to replace imo. His energy getting up & down the right side along with marauding runs ending. Also feel that he was underrated defensively as this was a side of his game that you saw improve in the last couple of years especially. Taylor I do like (& rate) & he has the experience of playing up here but I think if we've got this scouting system in place we may find it easier to discover another Taylor (remember Falkjrk did initially) than another SOD. Just my opinion.
  2. I always wondered about the tie in with a finance company. Surely we should be able to offer interest free installments ourselves through the club? Database/spreadsheet shouldn't be overly difficult to set up. If a person defaults then surely their ST card can be cancelled to prevent entry?
  3. The reading of the Evening Times article tends to suggest that she's there as an advisor to our existing media & communication department!! Do we really have one? Also, she has a lot of other 'jobs' it seems so be interested to know of she's taking this role on voluntary or bring salaried for her time. Either way, I do feel it's a position in an area that most would agree the club could & should do better in. However, with other commitments, how much time can she realistically offer? Would you want Archie having 3 other jobs before managing the team?
  4. Is Duggan under contract for next season? Undecided about Boyd. If he's the player of 2 seasons ago at Killie that's motivated to prove folk wrong he'd be a great signing. If he's the Boyd that finished last season with Sevco then forget it. Whether it's true or not...? Know Killie are struggling worse than us in terms of cuts to budget. Wouldn't think teams like Aberdeen or Scumdee Utd will be interested this time around. I reckon he'll end up at Morherwell.
  5. No thanks. Robertson same position as Bannigan, Welsh, Fraser & also have Osman in there as well as young Wilson. Not sure midfield is area we should be looking at strengthening if budget been slashed by 25% as has been suggested. As for Bannigan, his best form this season coincided in him being played alongside Osman & dictating the play. Wasted further forward imo.
  6. He'd have earned a lot more respect if he said that he was looking for pastures new as he couldn't agree a contract with us instead of the trophies & Strachan pish he came away with us. Don't think he's a major loss. There are similar out there to him.
  7. Eremenko & Pascali both offered (& rejected) 1 year extensions. Doesn't seem Killie are rolling in it so that plus an artificial pitch would make me think this story unlikely Hibs? Not impossible. Bigger support, more money also I'd imagine. Guys like Fyvie, Allan & El Aalagui amongst others not going there to earn little or no money. Wait & see what happens but it seems it's always going to be about the £££. Story that Hibs were ahead of us last Summer in race to sign Taylor before he ended up at Scunthorpe. You wonder.
  8. The key word in buth articles.... Agent. His agent obviously looking for a bigger fee/cut than what he'll get from Thistle. There were 7 clubs finished above us. Of them, you can't honestly see him going to Celtic or Aberdeen. Dundee & St Johnstone have established keepers. We can rule out Hamilton. Inverness are likely to have Brill ready for new season but considering Esson been part of a team that has got to the cup final & finished 3rd in the league, I can't see him ending up there. That leaves us with... Dunder Unitef. I'd have no issues with him going there. The United fans are on McNamara's back big time & if he went back & signed another Thistle player you can imagine. First kick he kicks straight out of play they'll be right on his back. Don't get me wrong, the boy a very good shot stopper but as someone else pointed out, the step up has been difficult. Distribution & coming for crosses poor. As for Scitlamd squad, I reckon though we were delighted at the recognition for him & club at that point, I also think we were all surprised when call up came. Strachan's reasonings- he knew him as a kid at Celtic. He's had a closer look now & I'd be surprised with Marshall, Gordon & MacGregor along with Gilks & now Bain that he'd get anywhere near a squad again. Hope you & your agent get the pieces of silver you're after Scott as I'm willing to place good money in your next club after this being a big come down for you (& your agent- if he doesn't drop you.) His agent isn't the same company Darren Jackson worked for?
  9. I genuinely don't have a problem with that. There's no point in having a good youth system if you're not going to use it to your advantage. I still would be surprised to see any of the boys from yesterday, Wilson included, being regular first team players next year. They're more likely to spend a year or 2 on loan to get experience. Perhaps next season we'll see more of Scully, Lindsay & Nisbit who already have had time out on loan.
  10. Has been out for longer than that. Even if he was affordable, I'm not being unkind when I say the guy's injury record is worse than Sean Welsh's over the past few years.
  11. Heard last week that was the case as was looking for a longer deal. May be wriggle room yet. Depends where he sees his future. As good a keeper he is, he's had a lot of injuries past couple of seasons.
  12. So why would O'Donnell not be on that list? Slightly surprised at Sean Welsh not on it.
  13. Slightly off topic again, but have the police actually confirmed this or is this another example of the BoD saying something to try & justify it? I'd also like to know what the club's reasons are for the 10% increase in ST price. Especially as they are moving the JHS ST holders to make money. Are finances really that bad?
  14. 18 is guaranteed hence working on that figure. It may be 19, could even be 20. Someone often misses out on the extra home game as split never works out the way SPFL hope.
  15. 18 x £22 = £396 Difference between that & £340 is £56 therefore 2 and a half games. That's assuming admission stays at £22. At £308 it' works out at 4 games. If as many fans stay away from Celtic/Old Firm games as did last year then I can understand why some existing fans would see it not brilliant value. League Cup game a bit of a red herring because even at home likely to be against a League 1 or 2 team because of the seedlings.
  16. Could've sworn I paid £280 last season. Was looking at that figure the other evening with Kilmarnock's early bird ST offer thinking our price hopefully would be comparable. I'm not sure that our ST price is going to attract 'new' fans & that's probably the most disappointing thing about the pricing for me.
  17. 10% increase on last season- assuming you renew as an adult in next couple of weeks. Quite an increase imo. Especially as we're told that the move from JHS during old firm games is going to raise £250k -if the other @rse cheek comes up it could well be even more. Always disappointed that the club don't offer interest fee payments on paying up ST. I know other clubs do. How difficult can it be to do? I assume that Zebra finances fee is the interest payable on the ticket over the year.
  18. But we'll give you free entry into a 2nd round League Cup game. If we're drawn at home!!! Bizarre.
  19. We've been safe for over a fortnight. Surely the point is to strike while iron hot? This should've been ready to go the second the final whistle went vs St Mirren. After all, after the Ross Co game the week before we were safe on everything but name.
  20. Slightly O/T to this thread title but Killie had their STs on sale immediately after they were safe Saturday night. Meanwhile... Partick Thistle.... Waiting.... Still waiting.... The kit, STs not on sale yet, PA system & announcer (Jamie Mitchell living legend, seriously?) Then there's the lack of consultation with the fans culminating with the decision to hand over JHS to Celtic fans. I see the financial sense in this but as someone pointed out to me Sat night, now this decision been made, it makes it easier to do it when Hearts or Aberdeen bring a big crowd say for a cup game. But then, we're only fans/shareholders. You need a blazer to have a say otherwise it's shut up, do as your told & give us your money. What's the latest on Propco anyway....?
  21. I'd love to see the guy at Firhill next season but I honestly can't see it. 1- Scunthorpe will likely be looking for some sort of fee. Even if it is nominal, are we in the position financially to do it? 2- Even if we agree a fee, wages may be a stumbling block. He'll earn/be earning a great deal more down South than we could pay him. 3- Higginbotham. If he's away, which is looking increasingly likely, then can't imagine Taylor coming.
  22. End of season fare for us, pretty poor defending but, here's the thing. 1st Goal, their penalty, outside the box. 3rd goal, never a foul on their player. Quite clear to everyone that he impeded Elliot. 4th goal, haven't seen highlights yet but by Balatoni's reaction at the time & after they scored, it looks likely there was a hand used. Then there was the foul in first half he gave against Bannigan when was clear to all in JHS that he was getting a forearm into his face. The stopping the play when their player copped it between the legs & stayed down. Then there was Magennis' head butt on his own player right in front of him. That was a red card right there, no doubt at all. If that catalogue of decisions had gone against a certain other SPFL Premiership team, it would be on the back pages of every paper & every sports bulletin for next week with conspiracy theories abound. Now I get referees are human etc but that today was unacceptable & think the club have every right to be asking the ref & SFA, to explain away some of his decisions.
  23. Only reason I said that was I'm sure I read that the club would play him until the notice was served by compliance officer. No reason for him not to play I guess.
  24. Interested to see what suspension he'll get offered. Black was 10 games but seven suspended for betting on 160 games but more tellingly that included betting against his own team on occasions. Something which STV have suggested he hadn't. Simonsen 2 matches with one suspended for 55 games. SFA appealed decision as felt was lenient. My guess would be maybe 3-5 games purely for amount of games especially this season.
