  1. I'm glad I don't bother with Scotland anymore. Only Old Firm fans are worse than the "Tartan Army". Whether you agree with Black's selection or not, booing him was completely unacceptable and disgracful.
  2. Peterhead promotion. I attended every other game that season. Dens cup replay. Inverness cup replay. Forfar promotion. Stirling promotion. Berwick 7-0. Arbroath 8 men.
  3. If people are too stupid to grasp the meaning of the song, that's their problem. We'll sing what we want.
  4. I'm bitterly disappointed at the lack of communication from the club on this, Ian Maxwell aside. Ian Maxwell responded instantly to my e-mail despite being on holiday, thanking everyone for their effort. He passed my e-mail onto whoever is in charge of the Onethistle initiative and we never received a reponse. The Chairman was also sent various e-mails asking him for support and again, no reply was ever given which is extremely disappointing as a lot of people have given up a lot of their time designing posteres (most of which were excellent) and spreading the word through various means. I'm still confident of a healthy crowd on Saturday, but I would have welcomed some help from the club.
  5. Fantastic thread. I remember watching the highlights on Sportscene. Am I right in saying that this was our first Scottish Cup win in almost a decade? Another classic Thistle backs to the wall victory was winning at Forthbank with Stephen Docherty in goals, around the same era.
  6. The Broadhill Bar. Worst football pubs I've been in: Celtic - London Road Tavern. A hovel frequented by some of the most unsavoury people you could ever imagine. Morton - The Norseman & and a pub beside the shopping precinct which I can't remember the name of. It sold Eldorado by the glass and a house vodka was 90p. St Mirren - The Wig & Pen Hibs - The Thistle Bar Aberdeen - Peep Peeps Dundee - The Maltman & The Shakespeare
  7. Some sort of poster is an excellent idea. We could really push this by advertising heavily around the city centre if possible, selling it as Glasgow's only game this weekend with the clear message of under 16's go free.We could even try things like putting posters up in Greaves advertising the game and make tickets available for purchase in the stores.I, along with a few others are quite happy to keep up the campaign on the social networking sites and through various forums. I posted on the Falkirk forum earlier and will be targeting a couple of Celtic forums when time allows. We could really use a few people who have experience in the marketing field or people who are in a position to create posters etc. This would help take the idea onto a higher level.
  8. http://www.facebook....48098208604302/ Above is the link to the facebook page. I would be grateful if you could join the event and invite as many people as possible.
  9. I was hoping the thread wouldn't go down this route. I only called it "Sell Out Saturday" as that was the name given by the Aberdeen fans who came up with the idea originally and it's the name being adopted by fans across the country. The main issue here is getting as many arses on seats as possible on the 11th. It would be good to hear from fans who have decided to go who were not originally planning to and from any people who have managed to convince mates to attend. So far, I've managed to convince two lapsed Jags and an armchair Rangers fan to go.
  10. A facebook event page has been set up. "Sell Out Saturday - Partick Thistle vs Falkirk". Please take the time to join the group and invite as many people as you can. Let's spread the word as much as possible. I intend to e-mail the club tomorrow to try and take this a stage further.
  11. Okay, perhaps selling out the ground is a bit unrealistic, but we should certainly be aiming for 5 or 6k at least. All we really have to do as fans is spread the word via social networking sites to other jags fans and through other forums like Pieandbovril. We don't even need to get the club involved at all, although additional help wouldn't go a miss. Even convincing one mate to come along would go a long way. It can't be that hard, can it?
  12. Most of you will probably have heard of the Sell Out Saturday idea started by Aberdeen fans, where they are trying to get every SPL club to sell out their first home game to compensate for the loss of the Rangers travelling support and to show that clubs can thrive without relying on the Old Firm. Let's do our best to see if we can attract a bumper crowd of our own by asking lapsed fans or friends who don't normally come to Firhill to attend our first home game against Falkirk. The first home game usually draws an inflated crowd anyway and you would expect Falkirk to bring at least 1000 through. So if we can all bring at least one extra person with us, we could be looking at a really healthy crowd. So get asking and do your best to bring some along and let everyone know how you get on by posting in this thread.
  13. Craig Burley, is an alcoholic, toothless simpleton from Ayrshire. Don't lose any sleep over anything he says. I'm surprised he hasn't been sectioned.
  14. After 20 years of following us, it looks like it's the end of the road for me too. If these proposals go through, I'll never go back to another Scottish game. More trips to Upton Park for me then. At least I can get a pint in the ground there and not treated like shite by the stewards and police. Gutted it's came to this.
  15. Your club is dead, I hope you are next.
  16. If the newhuns are allowed straight into the 1st Division, that will be me finished with Scottish football altogether. They can dress it up however they like by introducing play-offs and bigger leagues etc, but letting them into the 1st Division would be unforgivable in my eyes. I would just go and see West Ham more often than I already do.
  17. A simple e-mail from the club asking for an apology should be enough to clear this up. You have to laugh though. The man in question has made a very decent living from racism over the years. Playing the race card at every opportunity.
  18. What a glorious day. In 2002 the Airdrie onions died and now Rangers are going to die in 2012. Celtic to die in 2022? We can only dream! With any luck, scumbag clubs like Killie, Dundee Utd and Motherwell will also be at deaths door for being too reliant on the Rangers away support and Celtic will die of apathy. Without Rangers, Celtic are nothing. It's very much a win-win situation. Having a party when Rangers die.
  19. I've decided to start a "wearethistle" League on the Metro Fantasy Football site if anyone is interested. It's free to join. Pick your team by clicking on the link. http://fantasyfootball.metro.co.uk/ League number is - 54110 Cheers.
  20. Don't ever call them "the 'tic" on here again please. People will talk. Soapdodgers or plastic paddies will suffice. We don't want a Rangers-Linfield type relationship with they scumbags. Take their giros every so often by all means. Back on topic, I've heard from someone within the club that we've got a home friendly against one of the Old Firm, a friendly in England and a decent English side want to play us at Firhill.
  21. I find it hilarious and surprising that such a hapless nonentity has managed to provoke such outrage. I've already heard John Brown (what's the score) and Tony Fitzpatrick foaming at the mouth. Keep it up Sandy ya retard, it's all you're good for!
  22. Sympathy? Gies peace! I'm loving every minute of their crisis and long may it continue. You have to laugh at their knuckledragging fans in the paper today. The likes of that vile, bigoted little slug Mark Dingwall, bleating on about how the whole country is out to get them and we're all kicking them while they're down. For years we've had to endure endless gloating and sneering from the blue scum. They've lorded it over the rest of the country for years, spent millions on players they could never afford and stole the best players from provincial clubs for pennies. They are absolute scum and they deserve everything they get and more. They were well warned about Craig Whyte, but the BBC's documentary was dismissed as "anti-Rangers propoganda" from the "anti-Rangers media". Hell mend them. Also, they are saying that everyone in Scottish football is against them. Since when have Rangers ever gave a **** about the wider issues of our game? They've never hid their desire to leave for another country, blaming the rest of the clubs from holding them back, and where were they when the likes of Gretna, Clydebank and Airdrieonians were on the brink of liquidation? Now all of a sudden, we're to feel sorry for them. The only negative I can think of with regards to this situation, is the sickening gloating from their odious pals from the East End. Another club who have and continue to live outwith their means, pissing all over the rest of Scottish football as they go. Let's all have a party when Rangers die.
  23. Absolutely fantastic stuff. This final will show that Scottish football has so much more to offer than the Old Firm. Brilliant to see Lennon disgracing himself once again at the end of the game. The sooner this horrible little thug leaves Scottish football the better.
  24. Liverpool are a repulsive club. I despise everything about them. From their half-wit of a manager to their scumbag players like "nae neck" Bellamy, wife-beater Carrol and racist Suarez. They're the Celtic of England with their relentless and tasteless public mourning. Not to mention their scumbag, racist, theiving, murdering fans. No English club provokes such a feeling of hatred in me. It was a travesty that Everton never won today.
