  1. The Labour government actually took increasing inequality way too far, they also increased health inequality and promptly killed off their own voters!!!! Ref: McCartney BMJ "Would action on health inequalities have saved New Labour?" http://www.bmj.com/content/340/bmj.c3294?view=long&pmid=20573766
  2. Not to worry Norge, the Yes campaign aim to win his thing. The No campaign are doing a scattergun 'Project Fear' approach with no regard for facts and are being blatantly dishonest using an 'ends justify the means' evil way of trying to win. It's important that Yes don't stoop to this level of blatant lies. There's a lot to be said for doing a 'rope-a-dope' until the white paper comes out in November. We won't really start to do the heavy hitting until next spring. But there's lots of info to be had on Newsnet Scotland: http://www.newsnetscotland.com/index.php/scottish-opinion/4341-a-unionist-lexicon-an-a-z-of-unionist-scare-stories-myths-and-misinformation Also, the Wings Over Scotland website is updated daily.

    Neymar

That Neymar is a scum bag. I'll always hold that Brazil friendly at the Arsenal stadium against him. His carry on almost ruined a great day for a lot of people. It was really funny seeing the Brazilians and Italians trying to out-cheat each other the other night.
  4. There's not a lot of fuss about the dismantling of the NHS in England. Here's some fairly solid factual points: - the NHS is inexpensive and efficient by international standards (in terms of direct spending by governments, never mind the patients and business health plans) - the US system is so expensive the midde classes often need a second job to pay for health care - the US system costs the US government more in direct spending than ours does - the conservative front bench have many directorships and equity stakes in private health care contract companies (I think some Labour politicians as well, but I would need to double check) My opinion is that the conservatives don't want to make the system more efficient, they want to steal the money. They do this by taking expenditure off the books, paying staff the minimum wage, and pocketing the difference. Aha you say, but the Scottish NHS is already independent of the English one so what's the problem? Well firstly this shows the benefits of indpendence and secondly this fiddling of expenditure books means that through the Barnett formula the Tories will be able to savage our own NHS in a couple of years. The thought of being in this union in a couple of years time is frightening.
  5. Exactly, it's not rocket science. One Q&A with fans and hey presto (might have to ban a few colour blind dafties though). That big yellow bit could be worked on at one of those print shops..... heh heh heh.... I wonder how much a big stealth bomber logo would cost....
  6. The front isn't too bad (better than last years pishy pinstripes). The big yellow bit on the back might stop me buying it though. I boycotted the last one that did that.
  7. Our two main advantages over the other SPL clubs are -a- kids for free and -b- the North Stand. Forget the flares, it suits us to let them smash up the main stand seats as we don't usually use them!
  8. Traditional Hoops please. I really dislike the recent MASSIVE MacB logos. In fact I dislike it so much that it might put me off buying a strip. >>>PLEASE JAGS TONE DOWN THE SIZE OF THE LOGO<<<.
  9. That was quite funny! Nice one.
  10. I counted ten flags today, well done troops! Kids go free and the North Stand malarkey. Mon the SPL.
  11. Jamie Hepburn is a well known jags man. Don't think Sandra bothers much with football but other Kelvin SNP branch members certainly do! Come to think of it Hillhead councillor is a jag and Partick West councillor is a St Mirren fan.
  12. Without looking at the above posts (which I agree with anyway) then Fox and Balatoni would be stick on nominations.
  13. After sticking with this policy for quite a long time now.... looking about the place on a saturday.... I would say that it's been a success and we're building a new generation of wee jags fans.
  14. Shorty mentioned this the other day. You can still get stickers but the cards are more popular nowadays.
  15. Wow! The troops have been well entertained that's for sure. Personally I think the combination of Archie, Kids go free, and the North Stand have produced an amazing season for us.
  16. Awesome! Cheers for the vid, what a season this is.
  17. I popped into the T'Wood after work to double check what time they are opening until. I'm driving tomorrow night and might fancy a pint afterwards. So just in case that anything.... important at all happens... tomorrow (ahem, whistle) they will sportingly stay open for an extra hour.
  18. Excellent story... maybe jag fans are are a bit mental!
  19. I shouldn't really fess up to this but stuff it. The Love St league winning game is most memorable for me. I was limping up the stairs at Love St with a sore lump in the hawma's. I knew fine well that it could be dodgy but I thought 'there's no way I'm going to hospital before such a big thistle match'. So I went to the doctors on the monday after the game and got the bad news!!! I've been discharged from the Beatson for years now so the gamble paid off and I've got a belter of an anecdote.
  20. They are so bad now that they aren't clever enough to be biased any more! Seriously, you would have to reach a certain level of competence to be able to influence the result of a game. These muppets are nowhere near good enough to even think of bias etc.
  21. More info, it has to be a vector image to be scaled up. One way is Powerpoint > pdf > Photoshop. I don't have Photoshop myself that's all I can chip in with.
  22. I'm sure that twinny has this covered. Basically you would have to submit a .tiff high resolution image from a proper drawing package. I get this done for graphs. You can start in Powerpoint but the drawing package seems to redraw the image and is much sharper. This would probaby be okay for a large flag. See what the company say it must happen a lot.
  23. There's already some good advice on this thread, cheers!
  24. I'm too late to book supporter buses (if any bus has cancellations I need two tickets!). Over the years Livi day outs are rightly panned on here, but the stout defenders of the town's honour sometimes stick ideas on the forum. Any advice would be helpful. I've only done drives/supporter buses in the past. I know that Livingston North is an option, but that looks like a rubbish walk with no hostelries. Maybe the bus to the shopping centre would help if you got there quite early. But a lunch and pint in a shopping centre Wetherspoon doesn't sound much fun for a cup final. A taxi from Linlithgow might be an idea as well. Or how about Bathgate? It's only one or two train stops away on that new line to Edinburgh.
  25. Cheers Livi TV that was braw!
