If I remember correctly we were told when GC was hired as manager. He had done a dossier on all the players and identified how to get us promoted. Now he has failed and been sacked it is because he has never played in the Championship .
Expect to see him in next years Apprentice. Will fit in perfectly, everything that goes well it is because of them, anything goes wrong nothing to do with them, always somebody else's fault.
The takeover is a very emotive subject, as Jags fans we all want the best for Thistle. But on this thread it seems that some posters want to monopolize the thread. If anybody disagrees with them they are wrong and that is that. Nobody is allowed to have a different opinion and the thread deteriorate's into a point scoring exercise.
Unlike yourself I am not a nomad, I am only about 8 miles from Firhill. But like yourself, I know next to nothing about the takeover. I am not on Twitter, Facebook or other social media. I depend on getting all my Thistle information from this forum.Reading the posts on this thread you have to be all for one, either the consortium or TFE and totally against the other. As far as I know and I am happy to be corrected if I am wrong, nobody on this forum is truly in the know with regard to this takeover. So we have 200 pages and counting of argument and counter argument. With no real substance to back any of it up.
Apart from a mix up between Fox and McGinty, which Saunders cleared from just before the goal line in the first minute, we were never troubled. Kakay MOTM. Miller missed an absolute sitter. Spoke to some Connah's fans before the game and they said their level is similar to the English conference league.
I realise I am in the minority, but I did think we deserved something from the game. QOS were better in the first half, but I felt we were better in the second. As others have said we are short up front and although Mansell doesn't score a lot of goals, I feel we should have him on the bench for games like yesterday when we needed somebody upfront to help Miller.
While I don't disagree, we have bigger fish to fry like not being relegated this season. So as I said would like to see McCall give players like Sneddon, Mansell, Penrice and if fit Slater a start. Also they did knock Kilmarnock out of Europe.
I would suggest that the poor management is down to McCall having been manager for less than 2 weeks and he is still getting to know his squad. If he is still making the same mistakes in a couple of months time it is time to worry again. I think he has shown with what he has done at Ayr he knows how to get the best out of a squad of players.
