  1. Not sure how many of our out of contract players will sign up again, if rumours are correct not many if any at all. So i hope we are actively looking to replace them and we don't miss out on any new signings waiting on their answers.
  2. The way he played for us, we would have gladly accepted that. Every little bit helps.
  3. I didn't watch the game live, listening to commentary. We got a lot of deserved plaudits for our performances in the playoffs and as others have already mentioned a few off our players have put themselves in the shop window, so to speak. I am not sure it was even a bad 45 minutes, as i have said we seemed to fall apart after their penalty. They don't get that, for me we probably end up winning 1-0 on the day and the conversations on this forum are completely different. Anyway let's hope if we put ourselves in such a good position for promotion again we have learned our lesson from Sunday. All the best to you and i hope you have a good summer, before we start the roller coaster ride we call supporting Partick Thistle.
  4. While it cannot be denied that all the things that has been listed above happened. It cannot also be denied we were 3 goals up with 20 minutes to go. Even after their dodgy penalty we were still 2 goals ahead. Why we seemed to panic after the penalty is what has to be looked at by our management team, to try and prevent it happening again. I know that this is not a popular viewpoint and although decisions made by ref and or VAR did not help, imo we blew it. We have some if not all the best stats in the playoffs, but we also have the worst and that is the one that cost us a place in next season's premier league. The first team to lose a premier league playoff final after being 3 goals ahead.
  5. As far as i know nothing been said yet.
  6. Yes, first increase since 2017. Will be getting one as i have done for many years. Would be great if everybody who could afford it with Thistle at heart got one and help Kris and Paul build a competitive squad for next season.
  7. I remember a few years back we had Firhill sponsored, Energy check stadium at Firhill IIRC. Morton seem to have got a fair sum by having a sponsor for their ground. Is this a road we could go down again ?
  8. Don't think i am overthinking it at all. When they got their 1st goal we were still 2 goals ahead in the tie. We gave them even more momentum by presenting them with a chance to go ahead on the day, which they took. We had more than enough experienced players on the park to calm things down by keeping possession, not sloppy passing that ends up giving them the ball back, near enough straight from kick off.
  9. Players for Thistle are not on mega bucks so for me i understand them leaving. They have to think about themselves and their families. I will wish them all the best unless it affects Thistle in away. My only regret is if we would have got promotion we might have held on to some or most of them and we could have had a really good shot at having a decent season in the premier league.
  10. Can't remember where, but i once heard football being described as 'the most important thing of the less important things in life'. That sums it up for me. Good summer to everybody and it won't be long until i am back at my usual spot in the John Lambie stand and chatting to @partickthedog and others.
  11. Usually put a like, but couldn't for this one. Thanks to everybody @The Thistle Archive for all their hard work over the years.
  12. Where i go to at Firhill i am close to where the away teams subs do their warm ups. The amount of adult Thistle supporters walking by and shouting at them is quite embarrassing. Encourage the Thistle players, don't wind up the opposition.
  13. Of course VAR had a part to play. The playoff system in Scotland might be aimed at keeping the Premier team in the league, although it didn't help us 5 years ago. But at the end of the day we only have ourselves to blame. We blew a 3 goal lead in for us a terrible last 20 minutes of normal time. I hope our management team look at what happened in that 20 minutes and think what they and the team could've done differently to try and avoid anything like that happening again. The current management team are learning their trade in every game we play. A painful and costly lesson, but i am sure they will learn from it. I hope Dools now takes time off in what has been a very busy and emotional time for him, both on and of course of the pitch.
  14. The planned vote for this tomorrow has been shelved.
  15. As others have said a real missed chance. I know VAR seemed to go against us, how our penalty claim is not a penalty i will never know. But we did manage to go 1-0 up yesterday and be 3 ahead in the tie that should have been that. Even after they score with their penalty we are still 2 ahead overall, Why panic ? We have enough experienced players in the team to know that from the kick off after they score to keep possession and not give them the ball back right away. Even from the throw in that lead up to their second goal our defence looks caught out. The managerial team and the players got a lot of deserved plaudits for how they have played, particularly in the playoffs, but imo everybody has to question their part in how our season ended so badly in the last 20 minutes or so in the final 90 before extra time. I also feel that next season could be a struggle because of what we hear on the 'grapevine', but now that the season is over and we know what league we are in i think it would be good to hear from the board and also where they see us going as a team over the next couple of seasons.
  16. Not sure how competitive we would have been in the premiership, but it would've been good to go up, even if it was just for a season and get some money in. Just hope with the rumours of how bad our finances are we can get a team on the park that sees us competitive next season.
  17. Totally threw it away. No matter what people say about VAR. We should not blown a 3 goal lead in the last 20 minutes. We also had chances with penalties. Will be a very difficult season next season.
  18. Sure is. Would settle for a boring 0-0 game. Don't see that happening tho.
  19. A good team if they start the Tennents sixes again. Safe and enjoyable journey to everyone going. C'mon the JAGS.
  20. Thanks to everybody who answered my post about starting Bannigan. I seem to be on my own with that one. Just hope we can score a few goals in the first half, might calm my nerves down if we do.
  21. Agree. We are in touching distance of the Premier league, but just not quite there yet. No stupid mistakes, take our chances and we should do it. Easier said than done though.
  22. Dools said on his interview they were heading to Inverness. Let's hope we are the second Glasgow club to beat their highland rivals this weekend.
