  1. Almost certainly. It would make sense to have at least 10-12 achievable targets for the manager and every other position, so that we have a good starting position wherever we need to recruit. Perhaps the club do have this already, but our transfer dealings would probably indicate that this is not the case.
  2. Talk to them to find out why, motivate them, change the training. If the above fail, drop them and bring in some young boys keen to prove a point.
  3. Lived up to expectations, watched this team all season and nothing different today. A team who gave the distinct impression that, overall, they could not care less. Tactics continued to be predictable, out to the wings, play fizzles out or woeful cross in. Management unable to motivate the team. Maybe keep Penrice, Lawless and Doolan (if McCarthy is off to Hearts), pretty much everyone else can go.
  4. Amoo was much better than Storey, at least, for a while. I mainly included him as he also played out wide and by the end no-one was overly sad to see him go.
  5. Other than the loan at ICT I don't think Storey has ever scored more than 2 league goals in a season. If we put a statue of Doolan on the penalty spot more goals would go in than playing Storey. We don't get much use out of the penalty spots anway...
  6. Based on any season before or since he was on loan at ICT, has Miles Storey had a better goal return than Pogba, Azeez or Amoo? No? Because he is tripe. Fast tripe, but tripe nonetheless.
  7. Storey is a dud! Through the middle or on the wing makes no difference. Head down and run straight whichever way he is facing. For all that Ade Azeez had a very poor goal return, he was 2 or 3 times more troublesome to a defence than Storey.
  8. The Weirs put in an initial amount into the Youth Academy and I believe then put in extra, but the plan is for it to be self-sustaining - which is difficult when younger players struggle to get a look in. If we were to be in the lower leagues for another extended period, I can't see it being viable short of further funding from the Weirs, which as you say is not guaranteed.
  9. I feel that having seen the progress made on and off the park, probably over the period since Ian McCall took over, I would hate for that to be jeopardized by relegation and that on too many occasions this season the players have shown a mental fragility and the manager and players have failed to learn from our defeats. If we were to lose the ladies team or some of the youth teams then I would see that as a major step back and the current players and management could be putting these at risk as well as our top flight status. Even Falkirk have given up on their youth set-up after an extended stay in the Championship. I desperately hope that we stay up and I might renew my season ticket even if we do go down, but I won't continue to pay to watch turgid losing football for the majority of every season. We are Thistle, we will win some, lose some and draw some, but we should have a team with the mentality that we go into every game with the aim of winning (as Hugh Murray instilled into the Championship winning squad from pre-season onwards) and that winning a cup every now and again or at least getting to semis and finals is realistic. P.S. please let us see some more younger players, McCarthy has been great in a few games and Penrice should surely be getting some game time, even in midfield. Young players are a resource to be nurtured, but they should be utilised. They are not flowers and if they can't cope or learn from a few defeats (and hopefully some victories) they don't have much of a future in the game anyway.
  10. Barton looks comfortable coming out from the back, but I don't think he compares to Shaggy. Used to love seeing Scott making a mug of opposing forwards, leaving a fair few on their backsides.
  11. Via Lost Glasgow on facebook Glasgow map showing the site of our former home
  12. Other than the short patch at the start of the season, crocked like Craig Gordon was, hopefully he can make a similar comeback.
  13. Edouard. Abdul looked good from the stands, better than most games he's played over the last season. Lots of closing down and breaking up the play. Still to see the chance for us to go 2-1 up, but thought it was in from my seat up on our 18 yard line.
  14. Has he played in a back 4? Yes Is it his game? Not even slightly
  15. I think it's well intended, but disrespectful to get his name wrong. Never understood why it's not "Oh we love Kris Doolan" or "Oh he is Kris Doolan" or something similar.
  16. Put Turnbull in as a DM and leave Barton where he is.
  17. Boab was indeed an inspiration. Remember watching the game we were 3-0 down at home to Gretna and him dragging the team back into I to finish 3-3. Cannae believe there is so little footage available of his free-kicks
  18. The best 30 mins of the season followed by an abject 64 mins. Great goals, all 3 of them. Front 2 of Sammon and Storey looked good early on, but faded and Dools should have been on earlier if he is fit. Let them back in the game during the last 15 mins of the first half and they should have scored at least twice. Barely strung a pass together for about 40 mins and let Kipre stroll deep into our half unchallenged. Started sitting far too deep and absolutely failed to heed the warning when they had the goal disallowed. Woods looked like he would be steady and tidy early, but I felt he was fairly anonymous for most of the game. Fraser brought something, but naturally lacking some match sharpness. Surprised if he is isn't getting game time with the development team? Woods being in the team seemed to allow Barton to play a bit further forward, which may work better as Woods gets back up to speed. Delighted with the 3 points, but we needed a bit of luck to get them. Onwards and upwards.
  19. I think we should get rickshaws.
  20. Realistic with the extra money they got from Hamilton and Hearts
  21. It is quite apparent that in a number of games we work hard early on and pay a high price at the end of the game. The full backs in particular often seem done in come the last 15-20 mins. This season and last we have had some terrible runs of form. I'm not saying in any way that top 6 last year was anything other than a huge success, but we could have done better without the now trsditional poor start.
  22. To be fair, we do visibly tire compared to the opposition in quite a few games. I have my own concerns about the fitness and sports science team.
  23. Resting some players with the big game at the weekend in mind.
  24. Probably needed to replace the Kingsford Capital money. Makes me a bit sad though
