  1. An emphatic no. It's cringeworthy, sounds rubbish, and does nothing to contribute towards a better atmosphere. Entirely pointless.
  2. I appreciate it will take time to change things, but the catering problems aren't a result of bigger crowds, there were exactly the same problems last year. The queue system is a mess, the quality of food on offer is poor (that's when they don't run out of things before half time), and the service can (as much as I don't like to criticise people who will be on pennies) be pretty rude.
  3. You're either on the wind up or you know nothing about football. Cheers.
  4. He really isn't. Made two mistakes today but aside from that he constantly broke up play, filled in at the back when O'Donnell was bombing forward, and in general was excellent.
  5. If other clubs making bids for our players is your barometer of how good a player is, then that's fine. We'll agree to disagree. It just seems a rather odd way of judging a player's ability. My point is that Erskine is a player who will help us win the league. Some of the attacking play involving him, Doolan, Lawless and Welsh this year has been sensational. I can't understand why someone who has seen that cannot appreciate what he brings to the team, and why on earth anyone would want to get rid of him should we, hypothetically, get promoted. All about opinions, I suppose.
  6. That is such a weak argument it's unbelievable. Are none of Ross County's players good enough to play in the SPL? After all, none of them were bought by an SPL club prior to promotion. Were none of our 2001/2001 title-winning side good enough to play in the SPL? None of them were bought by SPL clubs. I've no idea why SPL clubs haven't bid for him, and it doesn't really matter. He is one of the most entertaining and effective players that we have, and one of the most entertaining and effective players in the First Division. If we were to, hypothetically, gain promotion, then I've absolutely no doubt he would continue to be a fantastic player for us.
  7. You are right. Let's get rid of him and bring in some midfield clogger who can tackle. It's not as though staying up in the SPL requires teams to create or score goals anyway. It's a moot point for the time being, as we aren't in the SPL, but it's still one of the worst points I've ever heard.
  8. If we got promoted you would release one of our best players? I am genuinely bemused by some of the posts on this forum sometimes. Do you actually watch/understand football?
  9. I've been at every game this season. The suggestion that Erskine should be dropped is laughable. As is the notion that Archie, who has been superb so far this season and who has even his improved his distribution (something I thought I'd never say), should be anything other than one of the first names on the team sheet. So too is the idea that Doolan should play anywhere other than where he has been playing superbly well, which is as our main centre forward. I'm glad you aren't our manager.
  10. You want us to drop Archie, drop Erskine, and play Doolan as a winger? Wow.
  11. If it's the same Steven Craig that I'm thinking about then he's a completely different player to Doolan. More of a target man type, is he not? I remember him being pretty physical and not afraid to use his elbows when playing against us.
  12. Scully had no chance with any of the goals. The highlights also show that Craigen had 3 assists, making the criticism of him in another thread seem extremely harsh. His ball in for Elliott's header was a beauty, as was his through ball for Erskine's first.

    Just In

Talk about an over-reaction! Balatoni is absolutely fine as defensive back-up. He looked a little shaky tonight but was being asked to play on the left hand side of defence when he isn't left footed. McGuigan has probably only had about 5 or 6 starts for us and in that time has bagged a couple of goals and shown that he has definite potential, whilst this was only Craigen's first ever start and despite being relatively quiet he put in a lovely cross for Elliott's goal. Yet you are willing to label them all as duds already? Just be quiet.

    Crowd Noise

It wound me up too! It's not a massive issue, but it was just quite annoying and wasn't really required. Arguably worth trying but I would hope it isn't repeated.

    Crowd Noise

Calm down! The only reason I started a thread about it was because I didn't want to be negative in any thread about the match, which was brilliant. I'm most definitely not "angry". I'm happy for this thread to be merged into the existing matchday threads, there wasn't any particular reason for starting a new thread. I think it's great that we are trying new things, and I think the move to the North Stand worked really well. I previously said that the atmosphere was superb, and the fact that the fans were in the North Stand definitely helped that. All I'm saying is that the piped noise in the JH was quite annoying as it sounded very tinny, had a slight time delay and in general sounded unnatural.
  16. Did anyone else notice the crowd noise (presumably from the North Stand) that was being played into the JH stand today over the tannoy? What on earth was that all about? It sounded awful and was really annoying. Great game today, and a really good atmosphere, but I have absolutely no idea who thought the above was a good idea.
  17. Isn't that what every manager in the world tries to do? Get their team to finish as high in the league as possible? Odd comment.
  18. I thought onethistle were just ordinary fans? Do those involved now have official positions within the club? It's hard, from the outside, to differentiate where responsibilities begin and end. For example, are your comments on here (about various matters) representative of the club's viewpoint? Or are you still just 'a fan'? Genuine question.
  19. Sorry, the name is still a bit cringeworthy. Far too manufactured and fabricated. The essential idea is fine and should be encouraged, but the idea that we have teenage 'ultras' is just a bit silly. Also wondering how you can type the bit in bold with any significant authority. Without being disrespectful, you don't have an official position at the club, as far as I know. Therefore one fan (who is simply involved in helping out the club with a project) telling another fan to "get used to it" strikes me as a little rude, to be frank.
  20. 'Ultras' is a bit cringey. Sounds a bit Livingston-y.
  21. Agreed. I think our best bit of business this summer may well be signing Bannigan on a new deal. I can see us selling him on for a tidy sum at the end of the season if he carries his pre-season form into competitive matches. He's been outstanding.
  22. Really? He's average height and very skinny. Great player but he's no man mountain.
  23. The police would dictate the number based on an estimate given to them by the club. The club clearly expected the crowds over the weekend to be far bigger than they were, for some reason. As a whole, the tournament was let down by poor organisation and poor scheduling. Whilst our matches were clearly enjoyable, the spectacle of the weekend could have been hugely improved.
  24. Currently winning 2-0! Looks like we will be receiving our first silverware of the season.
  25. Good game. We played well, Lawless in particular looking quite exciting. Poor crowd though, with (from the looks of it) most Thistle fans leaving after our game. Bizarre scheduling to have our match first, in my opinion.
