  1. Come on, his record is far more than just 1 cup ..... Bournemouth - Administration West Ham - Administration Portsmouth - Administration Southampton - Administration Admittedly all of this happened (not long) after he left the clubs, so I have no justification in linking 'Arry to these misshaps.
  2. I just wonder what skelletons remain in 'Arry's closset. It would have to be a risky appointment given the scrutteny that an England manager is put under.
  3. At least he would have been until you said that
  4. No way that I am going to walk around in a shirt that has Virgin on the front
  5. Did David Beckham not make a career out of exctly that ?
  6. How about turning any takover on it's head. With a big Euromillions win, I'm sure that Mr Whyte would bite your arm off and you could rename them Partick Thistle 2012 FC, change the strip to red and yellow, move them to Firhill and ban any neanderthal with a Union Flag on them from the ground. Then again it may be cheeper to just invest a few 10s of millions in the Jags and wave as we pass the h*ns on our way up.
  7. I'd take Parker. I think he's 29 now and has had a proven scoring record. He must realise that he is on his last chance so if Jackie can get half of his ability back he will be one of the best strikers in our league. Certainly worth a deal to the end of the season
  8. Agree with most of the above, especially 'Arry (who has virtually bankrupted every club he has been at West Ham, Bournemouth, Portsmouth and Southampton). Also and Moan-rinho who realy get on my wick with his wind ups. One that I haven't seen mentioned is Ian Holloway, an opinionated gob-shite who wouldn't know his arse from his elbow
  9. Don't want to spoil the good vibes, but loose today and we could be just 5 ahead of Ayr. BTW Dundee and ourselves can't both win.
  10. Link to Linfield Rangers website Well it's got me interested
  11. Can I have 2 draws and win the cup game on a replay ?
  12. I am going to take my optomistic hat and stick it where the sun don't shine. I will never be optomistic about The Jags ever again.
  13. Looking at our next 3 games, we have 2 very winnable fixtures at home to Raith and Queens. We then go to Dingwall on a bit of a run, so who knows, maybe a win there too. Meenwhile Ross have to face Dundee and Falkirk, two matches that they could easily loose. As we play Hamilton on the Friday, it is not impossible that we could go top for 24 hours ! Well ..... It could happen !
  14. Thanks. I've always been rubish at crosswords
  15. OK, I'm going to sound stupid, but I've not got to this age without sounding stupid before. I guess the answer is Partick Thistle or it wouldn't be on this forum, but how the **** do you get that answer from that clue ?
  16. There realy are only 2 contenders. Clarke and Cavendish. The Clarke story of his wife's cancer through to winning the open is sure to get votes. Just a shame there is another N.Irish golfer on the list to split that vote. If it is a personality then Clarke gets it. If it is sporting acheivement Cavendish has just blown the rest of the world away and in my opinion he has to win the award. The athletes, cricketers, golfers and boxers are just making up numbers. As for Murray, I am a fan, but he has won eff all and has no personality.
  17. Don't be so down. There must be some team in the last 16 that we might draw that could give us an easy route to the quarter final.
  18. I had a coffee out of my lucky Thistle mug on Friday night. I never use that mug on any day other than a Saturday. It's my fault.
  19. And do Culter out of the gate money they deserve. Lets just put this behind us, stick a few past them at Firhill and learn from the experience. As many others have said, our name is in the hat for the next round.
  20. Oh please .... please ..... please ..... Can we have a blatant dive t Dens that produces the winning penalty
  21. I hate the current home shirt. It is just not unique enough and could be almost any clubs shirt. It has to be wide red and yellow stripes or hoops and I really don't care which. Having said that, and having hated the jester top, this effort from Galatasaray looks pretty good This season's away strip is a cracker and away should always be all black with red and yellow trim or all white with red, yellow and black trim
  22. I don't think it is any big shock that Hibs are looking for a new boss early in the season and I'm sure that the usual suspects of failed SPL managers will be touted for the job, but I was wondering if a return for Derek Adams might be on the cards ? May be a bit soon after he left, but he has sorted our Ross, and him going could only be of benefit to the rest of us.
  23. 1-1 Elliot puts us in front, but another controvertial late penalty gives Morton a point.
  24. 24th April 1971 - Stranraer 3-0. My next door neighbour took me for the last game of the season. I can remember standing towards the back of the old North terrace and it was a pretty big crowd as we had wrapped up the league title the week before. I can't remember why, but 3-0 was significant as it ment we qualified for the Drybrough's Cup (or some other diddy competition). Some good games the following season
