  1. And you would have missed Peterhead then !
  2. There are more SPL footballers reported to be at the scene than you would see on the pitch on the average Saturday. Is this normal behaviour ? I know it was a Sunday night, but I would expect most to have training in the morning and it doesn't sound very professional to me.
  3. And they might look extremely shaky under another new manager
  4. That would have been far too sensible, but tradition has it that the Champions always kick off with a home fixture and that had to be maintained, even if it was going to be immediately postponed due to Celtic Park being used for the Commonwealth Games. Only in Scotland !
  5. Know what ..... We will get as many dodgy penalty decisions give to us as go against us. Get over it. Refs and linesmen are, in general, honest people who do their job as best they can. The do make mistakes as we all do and I will bet that the ref made no more than any of the Thistle players on Saturday. If there were no contentious decisions, football would be a very dull game with nothing much to talk about.
  6. Sorry, I misunderstood your original post and agree with what you say (other than Hamilton finishing top 6 - I think that they'll be found out soon)
  7. Can I ask, in those 48 years, how often have we come away with anything from Tanadice ? It's fair game to criticise the management after the St.Mirren and Kilmarnock games (and to an extent Hamilton, but events since have proven different) but the fact is that even if we had Mourinho as manager and Simeone as his assistant, we would still get nothing from Tanadice or Pitodrie. It is a long time since any manager kept us in the top flight for 2 seasons running and Archie is well on his way to doing just that. True, he has made some tactical errors (what manager hasn't) True, the squad could use more depth (what squad doesn't) Overall, he has earned the right to a bit of slack and while we are 6 points clear of relegation can't be accused of doing badly.
  8. Seabourne Frans in defence. Will they be calling us the French Navy ?
  9. This is going to go very close to the end. I think that most people expected Germany to win all of their games to give them 30 points Poland, Scotland and Ireland to battle for second place Georgia to beat Gibraltar but struggle in the other games Gibraltar to be the whipping boys. Key for Scotland qualifying was to win the home games v Poland/Ireland and 6 points from Georgia/Gibraltar. Anything for Germany would be a bonus The target for Poland/Scotland/Ireland to be in the mix was therefore 18 points. What has happened is that Germany have dropped 5 points from target, Scotland and Ireland gained one from last night and Poland gained 3 v Germany but dropped 2 from last night. Assuming that everything goes as expected (home wins and Germany winning all remaining games), we will have Germany 25 Poland/Scotland/Ireland 19 Margins are going to be very tight and absolutely no room for any error.
  10. How ironic if a point dropped in Germany were to cost us.
  11. And John O'Shea has just made it more interesting !
  12. I'd have taken a draw at the start, so I've got to be happy now, even if it is disappointing to loose a lead. Well done Scotland. Well done Strachan. Very interesting group that we now have.
  13. Why does the hight matter ? If this mythical player can score 30 goals a season, I wouldn't mind if he was 4' 4"
  14. We have Ecclestone now, so I can't see us needing 3 strikers. Maybe a move in the summer depending on how things work out. Now if Barcelona were to put in a £50,000,000 bid for Dools then maybe Lyle would be a good replacement, but I just can't see us needing more than Dools and Big Ecc this season.
  15. I hope that Fredric can't read all the negative crap on here before he has even kicked a ball in anger. Bonne chance Fredric or boune tchance Fredric depending on which part of Belgium you come from.
  16. Or match Poland and beat Germany at Hampden/Ibrox/Parkhead/Murryfield or wherever the game is played.
  17. 12th September 1998. Beat Stirling Albion 1-0 at Firhill. Nothing memorable about that. The Bino's player being dragged from the field by their manager after a red card, different, but not hugely memorable. What does make this game stick in the mind is that it was the last time I saw a player who was older than me score. Tommy Bryce was the player/manager and headed in the only goal. I'm pretty sure that is a personal record that will now survive.
  18. I am, in reality, Penelope Pitstop, but I adopted my husband's name when I married him
  19. Another late goal in a close game. The boo boys will be running riot with that.
  20. For an unseaded draw, it is quite amazing that the top 4 teams remaining (on last season's league placings) all avoided each other.
  21. Don't fancy Rangers at all. They will be playing with 12 men on the park as Falkirk found out last night.
