  1. A 4-1-2-1-2 formation. Diamond midfield suited our personnel very well yesterday.
  2. McGeady, Doyle, Keane, Given, McCarthy,Duff and Dunne would all easily make any Scotland squad.
  3. Cairney's been player of the season so far. Not sure why doolen's up for selection.
  4. Maryhill boy and acclaimed artist Douglas Gordon is a jags fan. I would, on occasion, see him at Firhill. Anyone seen him recently?
  5. Mark McCrystal . Very poor for us but went on to play at a higher level down south.
  6. I thought Naismith came up short against the Czechs. He's quick, energetic, and has good movement but his first touch- an absolute essential at this level- is anything but comfortable. The result of this was that he gave the ball away- most notably just before the Czechs scored their opening goal. He was marginally better against Lithuania. He scored a decent goal but his goal to chances missed ratio suggests he's far from the shark in the box that he thinks he is.
  7. I don't think this particular example of badge kissing has the cringe factor. It's not as if he's trying to dupe us into thinking Thistle are his first love. However, he's just scored a fantastic goal on his professional debut. Something that he'll remember for the rest of his life. A wee bit of appreciation for the opportunity that Thistle has given him is ok with me.
  8. Just noticed in the highlights Christie kisses the badge after he scores. This boy's doing all the right things.
  9. O'Donnell should provide competition for a number of positions. The way the team's shaping up I think Jackie wants to include a purely defensive midfielder for balance. If Robertson's not up to the job then perhaps O'Donnell will get a shot at it.
  10. Steve Welsh, Manny Panther, Derek Fleming,
  11. I thought Flannigan played well today- fantastic assist for the goal- although he cetainly tired late on. Christie Elliot reminded me of another tall quick striker we had from down south:Leon Considine. A great debut from the big man; can see him doing really well for us.
  12. Did anyone else see the cheeky wee handball from Gray as he turned Paton for the first sending off? I'm sure this was what Fox was complaining about.
  13. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4V94GqQ2asU/ThQmkOyl8qI/AAAAAAAAAmQ/c8XkSF4wP5Y/s320/celtic+riot+australia.jpg http://www.genesissports.co.uk/Files/Clubs/new-partick-thistle-home-shirt-2011-12?width=460&height=276 Two sets of fans on their holidays.
  14. Another email on its way. I loved Bobby Law. Could never understand the abuse he sometimes got.
  15. No it can't. Buchanan, although small in height, has good upper body strengh. He is also better on his weaker foot then Doolan. On form, he can hold the ball up and go past players. He can also create goals for others. The ball for Doolan to score against Ayr earlier in the season a case in point. He's actually a very good crosser of the ball as he has shown in his spells playing wide in a front three.
  16. He's not scored for six games; gives the ball away too often; has no physical presence; he's too one footed- which is never good for a striker; and creates very little. I think at the very most he has one more start in him.
  17. Yes, he has- he's been poor since he stopped scoring. Time to get Liam back in.
  18. But what if they're better that attacking then you? Playing it attacking would've left us open at the back allowing their pacey forwards to get in behind. Sitting deep and hitting on the break was the way to beat Falkirk today.
  19. Because Falkirk have a number of very nippy players. Playing deep means they can't get in behind us. McCall got the tactics absolutely right today.
  20. 'The Hoosiers'- surely the most annoying band ever?
  21. What? A seasoned pro talking a young lad through a game? Whit's going to happen next?
