  1. The icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned .
  2. Right sided, fast, can cross a ball and scores goals. Sounds uncannily to me like a clone of Big Martin.
  3. It's possible there is a Blyth connection to this. The Spartans manager had only just moved from Whitley Bay. Perhaps he recommended the lad to Jackie or the Jags to the lad?
  4. Agree tho' Burns is a different type of player. Had Kieran not had his injury he might have been impressing more but imo he appears to have lost a yard of pace but can hopefully get that back. Stenny look quite a professional outfit and have a handful of experienced players. Hopefully Shaun will get plenty of games.
  5. Sounds like he's right sided so he'll offer us something different. The lad's evidently got real pace as has Sinclair down the left side. Does a twenty year old right midfielder turned striker with pace ring any bells? He's bound to be better than a certain gentleman we got on loan from across the river a few seasons back. Has to be
  6. Wasn't just the football scores. I can mind the fella going round the ground with the result of the Grand National (winner & the 3 runners up) on his board. Don't know if this was done at every ground or not.
  7. I did wonder what all the urgency was with yon online catering questionnaire. I'm willing to bet a fair amount of dosh that survey and this potential visit are not unrelated. I'm sure we can live with an empty main stand, an unsightly bing, a poor display on the pitch, useless referees not consulting linesmen etc but I doubt we'd ever live down the embarrassment of a pastry collapse from a half heated pie. edited to add... the Club would be well advised to spell out the meaning behind Kids Go Free. Don't want them thinking it's some sort of adoption thingy.
  8. Beat me to it. Ritchie was the best exponent of the final ball I've seen play in a Jags top.
  9. S & G mainly. Was going to say I might go down to the Woodside if there's a match on the telly but tbh I've lost a lot of interest in watching premiership/SPL games so I'll no doubt stay put.
  10. I was waiting for that one to come up edited to add.... another of my favourites was when we hacked into the ICT website, which for some reason allowed repeat voting and had the poll iirc up to 85% against ICT accepting promotion.
  11. Anyone think there's any merit to kicking off games at 2pm on Saturdays during winter months?
  12. Mention of the green Citizen has got me wondering if Wee Bobby Maitland is still on the go. Life long Jags fan and rarely away from Firhill since his retirement, Bobby worked for the Express as a sports writer in the 70s and 80s after the Citizen shut down. Haven't seen Bobby for a good while. Anyone got any info?
  13. Think if I won multi millions on the lottery I'd let it slip I was a Dundee fan. Just for the fun of it.
  14. Martin was ever the gentleman with me. On the contrary this McManus man methinks is rather a cheeky chappie.
  15. that's uncanny. Almost word for word what a few of our first team players told me.
  16. Hard not to agree but if there's a way to make things worse you can bet the SFL will find it.
  17. On the same subject there used to be commentator on BBC, fairly sure his name was George Davidson, who would summarise a game each week. Regardless of where in the West of Scotland the match was being played George would miraculously manage to be one of the first through the Aragon door shortly after 5pm. There was also the urban myth that due to over crammed telephone lines pigeons were preferred and sent out across the country with the half time scores
  18. Well I know more about Darren Ferguson than he knows about me.
  19. The SFL run a minor cup competition that can send Peterhead to Annan on a Tuesday night so I can easily foresee that incompetent lot going ahead with this latest nonsense.
  20. Haven't given it much thought but I'm not sure some folk that have forked out for a season ticket will be too keen on the idea. That said if it was just the one home game I can't imagine anybody would get too upset. I would be concerned about us getting a decent crowd on a Friday night especially if we were midtable and/or the weather was poor.
  21. Our own youth structure must be dependent on getting youngsters into a regular slot in the Saturday squad. One reason is straight finance but another is as a form of continuity. Prospective first team football is bound to be a major selling point to parents and kids alike.
  22. I work it out in the year 2010 they'd only have picked up 10 wage packets
