  1. ET reporting JT in talks with Burton Albion. I'm not really up on English leagues but that can hardly be considered a dream move. Can it?
  2. Just as a specific who's responsible for the SFA admin? I'm thinking about the Dunfermline cup situation where the problems/errors arose mainly through delegation. I'm sure that was Antonia's remit and she was still in place for our all too brief cup involvement last season.
  3. Ssshh! Don't let the cat out the bag but we're going to be doing it in turns. I hear Third Lanark is first up.
  4. Can't disagree with above. I fully expect any compensation will be along the lines of one or two loaned players in lieu of cash. Player(s) Rangers don't need/want, we don't necessarily need/want and more than likely players who don't want to be at Firhill. Only exception I'd make would Tuffey back on loan.
  5. I'd rephrase that as individual Board members rather than as a unit. Hypothetically I wouldn't want to see future directorship of PTFC synonymous with being obliged to make altruistic gestures. I'd rather see the Board contain some hard edged businessmen (who may have very limited personal wealth) and other experts in certain fields. That shouldn't of course be an obstacle to those others of wealth on our Board not contributing financially in either an ad hoc or regular basis.
  6. Point I was making is that ST holders could hardly use their own seat if they brought a few mates along for a more high profile game in the assumption that other ST holders would be doing likewise. I wasn't exactly meaning it would be a major problem in a stand the size of the JH. Personally I think that this idea should be introduced alongside the status quo STs, as an alternative rather than as a replacement. Perhaps this scheme would be more manageable without issuing a designated seat to the purchaser . Give the punters the choice between an open 18 match book and the standard ST package as it is today. I'm all for more imaginative and varied methods of admission such as this idea, early bird schemes, an open 10 game voucher book, "club" tickets incorporating season ticket & occasional hospitality, concessions for unemployed etc. What we need is more of the positive/radical thinking that got the under 16s for free introduced. Just about any change to the status quo is open to abuse and with those doubts the idea may just be discarded without further thought. I'm sure with a bit of imaginative thinking those obstacles can be overcome.
  7. Does the designated ST holder have to attend him/herself to "introduce" his/her guests, similar to many golf clubs that have a book of tickets each season in their membership package? Or is the book essentially just a book containing 18 pre-paid discount tickets? Sounds on face value quite a decent initiative. I'd assume (more theoretical admittedly) seating could be a problem if there was multiple use for a bigger game and season ticket holders wanted to use their regular seats. Easily surmountable all the same. You ask "why thistle aren't doing something similar". I ask why aren't they doing virtually anything to make season tickets more attractive to the wider fanbase?
  8. Any of our Embra contingent reading this could maybe think of train Haymarket to Lockerbie (£16 return) and either bus(?) or shared taxi to and fro Annan (only 11 miles away).
  9. how would a guy, just because he's wee, not have a clue if a voice has dropped? Oh and congrats in using the word get three times in a space of seven words
  10. [quote name='Hot Shot' date='30 May 2010 - 01:48 PM' No wonder pointless arguements start No they don't! Abuse is next door in room 12. Getting hit on the head lessons further down the corridor.
  11. can't disagree with you nor fault your attitude Not too sure what exactly an ultra is or does but if he/she or it doesn't involve a big drum and/or a brass band I'm sure it wouldn't annoy me
  12. Can't make up my mind whether a fan of a team with an average home crowd of under 500 playing in a stadium that holds 50,000 plus is best or worst placed to judge on matchday atmosphere etc.
  13. If he does cross over to the dark side there must be a reasonable possibility he'll be loaned back to us (assuming we want him) in lieu of training fees or whatever it's called. If there's a strong chance that's on the cards it must impact on McCall signing a replacement. I doubt this will happen but it's worth bearing in mind the possibility. It might well be in our interest he gets fixed up with a new club sooner than late on.
  14. That's correct. The idiot was even allowed in charge of a few SPL games as well before he was eventually put out to graze.
  15. So it kinda looks like we (& Clyde) scratched the friendly due to the alba cup game and we hastily arranged to play in Annan instead. Now we draw Annan in the CIS . If so maybe we should let Clyde go to the Annan tourney and we can play whoever Clyde have arranged to play in their re-arranged friendly
  16. Just checked the trains from Central and seem reasonable times and fare quoted at £15.80 ret. All go via Carlisle and total journey time around 2hr each way.
  17. Can't rule out dream ties against Dumbarton or Queens Pk.
  18. I'd rather have a box to box midfielder that could also do a shift in the boiler room. One supplementary transfer & signing question...... It's obvious that any new signing who's moved from a club further down the pecking order will describe the move as massive but is there a set points difference between the clubs, or is even a move to a better league involved, before the move becomes massive massive?
  19. What was the game that was cancelled last season?
