Let me be the first to say this year, 'this is a must win game' if we have any hope of getting a top 4 place.
Does it mean it's the first 6 pointer of 2023?

Well done @fifexile. A great weekend of football. Thistle win a 5 goal thriller and one of if not the best world cup finals ever.
Last but definitely not least a big thank you to @BowenBoys for all his hard work in doing this competition.
Out of likes AJ. If only the ugly sisters had been beaten my weekend would have been truly complete!

Don’t recall him winning the Scottish championship. Maybe we could hep him to that target.
Probably on his wish list.

What a game. Great for Messi to land the only trophy missing from the Messi mantlepiece Tough for Mbappe, scored a hit trick and doesn't win. I said at the start of extra time just go to pens this will be a waste of 30 mins!

Thanks Phil for running another great competition and good luck @lady-isobel-barnett

Oh well, best laid plans...
You're supposed to make your prediction privately! Of course, this could be a bluff and your real prediction is waiting in my PM Inbox.
Missed that...blaming the shock of actually leading going into the final....

Heart ruling the head here but would love to see Messi lifting the cup on Sunday so H for me.

I can't see any reason why kick-offs cannot be brought forward for mid-winter Saturday games when floodlights are needed This would save clubs money, and would allow that saving to be used forUSH if needed, thus avoiding re-scheduling fixtures, improving cashflow and possibly improving the environment.
Agreed, there are good financial and environmental benefits to be had from moving kick offs . 3pm kick offs are traditional only because Saturday was for many supporters a ½ day at work and 3pm let them finish, have a pint and get to the games. For the vast majority of clubs it would be worthwhile although I saw the ICT chairman dismissing the idea because away fans wouldn't travel to Inverness for an earlier kick off (although he didn’t say if he had approached any clubs to see if they were in favour or not)
I emailed Thistle a couple of months ago asking if moving kick off times was under consideration or being discussed with other teams in the league. Still waiting for a reply.

As Stuart said on Facebook can they not place covers/sheets over the ground to stop it frosting and therefore saving having to use USH as well?
Saw somewhere that the pitch was covered but covering it won't necessarily stop it freezing. The USH will still be needed.

Don't think so. The value of the land isn't huge and previous planning permissions have been rejected.
Agree the most likely motive for this level of disregard for the paying customer must be financial. I think its worth looking at what's happening at Ibrox to find out how they could do that without selling the club, the land and not getting too much negative publicity.
Sevco have been overspending since birth in 2012. Normally that would mean asking the bank for an overdraft however that's not been possible at Ibrox. So instead Directors are providing loans to keep Sevco afloat and in turn they get shares or they charge the club higher that normal levels of interest. Some of the loans are also secured against the property surrounding Ibrox.
We know from the accounts that we will shortly need an overdraft or loans to keep pace with expenditure so you could argue we are on the Sevco pathway.
Loaning a club money at higher interest rates could well be one way of making money however I don't think shares and property are likely at a club with a relatively small amount of land. I suspect the way to extract value beyond the interest on the loans will be to secure a cut of player sales or to influence who the club signs to get cuts of the signing on fees etc.
I think the effects of Brexit have changed the football transfer market and I think some clubs like Queens Park and Livingston have been quicker to recognise that player trading within the UK is likely to see inflated fee's as it becomes a bit of a closed market. Back in the days of the '3 foreigner rule' transfer fees for very ordinary players were huge just because they had the right passport. We could well be going back to that and some people will get rich form it.
My doomsday scenario is the land is sold and more student accommodation is built leaving Thistle homeless. There is precedent for that type of development in the surrounding area and there's no doubt there is a huge lack of student accommodation.

Don't think they will get many buyers for a club with no season ticket holders
Maybe selling the land not the football club is the end game
