  1. Great to see he's chosen this path instead of the usual move to another Scottish team. If he continues to improve at the same rate then who's to say we won't see him in a Scotland team in the future. We'll miss him but he deserves it. All the best Sincy!
  2. Still not sure about Scully, looks a brilliant shot stopper but doesn't command his box and seems very shaky with the ball at his feet.
  3. Sorry, what I meant was if you pay for your ticket at the portakabin can you sit anywhere? Looks like it will be rocking tonight, think I'll head for the North Stand
  4. Daft question - If you're are just paying at the gate will you be allocated to a certain seat or can you just pick any free one as usual?
  5. I don't think SOD can be blamed for many (any?) of the goals tonight. The first goal possibly as its his man who gets the cross in but he did show him on to his weaker side. Out of the 2 fullbacks I thought ATS had probably his worst game of the season, certainly from a defensive point of view. Wasn't that impressed with Prince Buaben, looks a bit lacklustre at times and gives the ball away cheaply. Bannigan and Fraser will become top players, hopefully whilst still in Jags tops. Was impressed by Elliot's cameo and he took his goal superbly. He's often derided by a lot of the fans but I definitely think he offers something to the squad.
  6. That was always on the cards tonight. To be honest I thought we were ok in parts, dreadful defending by ATS at the first and for the the millionth time we shot ourselves in the foot at the start of the 2nd half. Thought SOD played well and although he gave away the ball for their 5th I thought Fraser was decent. Piccolo looked solid enough but don't think Mair was anywhere near fit. We've got it out the way without any injuries or suspensions. Time to knuckle down and get back to our form of the last month or so. We can still stay in this league, plenty to play for.
  7. Any idea roughly where you're staying? As mentioned it's quite spread out dependant on where you're situated. The Metro system is excellent though and stops at all the main places and Taxi's are dirt cheap. (As a wee tip, don't use the private hotel taxi's as they charge twice the price. Thousands of normal taxi's so you won't struggle to get one). Dubai Mall is the biggest in the world so will keep the wife happy plus the Burj Khalifa (world's tallest building) is also there and is worth a trip to the top. The mall has plenty of restaurants etc and also has a fountain show out the front similar to Vegas. If you're looking for a night out then stick to going to a "Brunch". You can eat and drink as much as you want for approx 4 hours for roughly £40-£50. It's not like the all you can eat places here, the food is excellent. (Yacht club at the Marina does a good brunch). Beaches are good as well. I've been a few times but usually spend my time on the golf course, not sure your wife would enjoy that?!
  8. Cheers for the free pint GPT, much appreciated!
  9. Nesovic, he was the guy who played for years with Queen of the South?
  10. We had an Albanian goalkeeper at the club for a bit I think. It was during the time where Lambie was playing anyone but Kenny Arthur in goals! No idea of his name or if he ever actually played mind you
  11. 40 - Is it Russell Kelly? That's me done, stumped for the rest!
  12. Iain Swan on loan from Oldham. Sure he was a Lambie signing Eric Paton?
  13. Liam McVey ETA - Brian Martin ex Motherwell?
  14. I remember a guy we signed in the 1st, think he was ex rangers/falkirk and only played a handful of games tops. Can't remember his name though! Stephen something??
  15. Scott Houston? Think he scored against east fife then disappeared. Kevin McCann?
  16. I'm sure it was Lambie who gambled with the juniors? I'll go for Stevie Dallas, Eddie McGuinness, Tam Paton and Gavin Duncan?? Other obscure ones I remember; Derek Collins, Dave Rogers, David Klein, Denis Connaghan, Richie Huxford, Russell Huggan and Emilio Bottiglieri! ( I think?!)
  17. I wasn't that fussed about Paton leaving and yesterday proved why. Every time he got the ball he seemed to just aimlessly punt it as hard as he could the way he was facing. Decent enough ball winner but he really fancies himself as a midfield hard man. Not much of a hard man mind you if he's greeting after clashing with James Craigen. Think we've replaced him with better. He had a few unsavoury gestures to the Jags fans but considering some of the stuff being shouted/sung at him then it was fair game. As for United, they look half the team they were. Started to belief their hype too much it seems. Don't see the fuss with Souttar although Robertson looks a decent prospect.
  18. Doolan deserves a start, he was excellent when he came on yesterday. His first touch is tremendous and his little waltz round Paton near the end was brilliant.
  19. Can't agree with the stick for Elliot. Their goal game when he and McMillan were attacking and nobody covered across. He was played to stifle Robertson and thought he did that well.
  20. Sadly his attitude on the pitch didn't match his talent. Always thought he might struggle in this league although he never really did get a run of games to prove himself (most likely down to said attitude). Still, he gave us some great moments last season and was part of a championship winning Thistle squad. Wish him luck wherever he ends up.
  21. According to a few folk on Twitter, John Baird has been released.
