  1. All my interest in uniformed youth organisations went straight out the window after I was drummed out of the Hitler Youth in '44 for not polishing my jackboots. Imagine my surprise, having not seen anyone from old Wolfpack 66 for decades, when I bumped into an old comrade last week in Glasgow's southside! He's done rather well for himself; bit of a jetsetter now. He was dressed all in white, but then he always was a bit of a poseur. He refused my invite to the next Jags game due to work commitments but he says he still feels that Firhill is his spiritual home and that I should pass on his blessings, (whatever that means) to everyone connected with the club. Damned if I can remember his name, though. I must be getting old.
  2. I'll be there too, probably with my brother-in-law and the two Milettes!
  3. EP going is, to my mind, another small step forward. Others on this thread may bicker about the machinations behind the spate of resignations, but I feel alittle bit happier after the events of the last few days. Let's face it; it may only be a little bit of progress but that's better than no progress at all!
  4. I stopped buying the Evening Times ages ago. It used to be a good, local paper with incisive articles and courageous editorials. It's now been reduced to a propaganda sheet: firmly in the pocket of Glasgow's crooked councillors and shady businessmen, (or should that be shady councillors and crooked businessmen - it's all beginning to blur).
  5. Getting back on subject: I'm actually looking forward to saturday's game. it's amazing how a little bit of silver lining in the clouds can lighten your spirit.....................i might even dance!
  6. You should go back to Firhill because you really want to. Otherwise, you wouldn't have asked the question in the first place.
  7. Good! Best possible outcome; now to rebuild the club!
  8. Paul, I can barely imagine what it must have been like having to deal such penny-pinching, insect-minded bureaucracy while still coping with the death of a close member of your family; and yet your post is a model of calm and restraint. I feel sure that you will have the inner strength to recover from your loss. You have my best wishes.
  9. Excellent photies. Loved the one of Peetee watering the pitch!
  10. Balloch Jag posted, "Yes it was out of order but the players are basically providing shite so far so maybe thats what they deserve. " Spitting on anyone is a vile act. Balloch Jag's post is equally vile. He seems to say that sometimes it's OK to spit on a member of the team you claim to support, if the team has lost. I say that he seems to say this because he doesn't have the balls to come out and say it, (hiding behind that word maybe, in his post). I would suggest, Balloch Jag that,if you believe what you say in your post, you should never go to a Jags game again: you are one fan we can well do without. If, however, your post was a mistake, a drunken rant against a piss-poor team with no direction, a ghost of the talents we used to have; I suggest you should take a couple of Alka Seltzers and post again. If you have any backbone, you will retract your argument that sometimes it's quite alright to spit on people, and say sorry for your post.
  11. A steak upgrade is what you get when you order mince, but there's so much fat in it that it congeals while it's in the pan, and is served up as one big, solid lump. Yummy!
  12. What a post! If this forum awarded Pullitzer prizes you would surely get one, sir.It serves as a reminder of what a true fan should really be like. It fair had me greetin' into my Jags scarf!
  13. I'm sticking with your version of the result. It's far better than reality!

I've just heard on the radio that North Korea's manager, following their disappointing World Cup results, has been stripped of his job and is now a bricklayer. Hmmmmmmmmmmm? I wonder....................................?
  15. This is such a warm, positive thread. Can all us optimists just stay here and not come out until all the scarey things have gone? Yours, from under the bed, Milo
  16. Fear not! Not many people know this but Mrs. Milo and I are professional Voodooists of long-standing. We have been up all night dancing about naked in the local cemetery, whooping and a wailing, scattering chicken bones hither and thither, frothing at the mouth and all that kind of business. It was hard work but I can confidently predict that exactly at kick-off time on Saturday, Annan clairvoyant, Chris Conway will be hopping towards the nearest mud hole, flicking his tongue out to catch every fly he passes. i wish we could have done more but we are fresh out of ectoplasm.
  17. We won, albeit after a rather skittery first half. But the record books will simply show that we won and I'm more than happy with that. Good luck to young MacBeth! He looks like he could be a reason for all us long-suffering Jags fans to be cheerful this season.
  18. We're all doomed! Dooooooomed, I tell ye!!!!
  19. Germany's annihilation of England has been excellently covered by the German paper "Das Bild'........Would you like to hear a German sing a perky wee song? .....Yes?.... Of course you would. Try one minute into the following! after match reaction
