  1. the level of policing in recent years at Firhill has been a scandal, with some games there is about 1 polis for every 4 away fans. I think it is a nice saturday afternoon overtime ploy. You get more people and more trouble every friday and saturday night at some of the nightclubs in town, but are they hoachin with plods? not a chance. No, we are easy meat, there is never any trouble within Firhill (apart from the murder on the park, Taggart C1984) even the carry on with Clydebank United was well away from the groundand the polis managed to miss that one!
  2. Why not? If you must make a negative response at least take the time to give the Trust members your opinion if you have one.
  3. at least the TA get behind the team even if they are loosing, something that USED to happen at Firhill, but probably before most of you were born. obviously the TA are more 'realistic' in their expectations of how the team will perform, rather than critisising individual players as soon as they set foot on the pitch, which IMHO, is now an epidemic at Firhill.
  4. credit where it's due, a great idea, lets hope it raises the atmosphere in the JHS which has been pretty poor of late.
  5. I think I might actually go to this one, I think a small cup run is all we can look forward to this season
  6. Thanks for the update, I can see this application being rejected for the same reasons as the last one plus lack of parking provision. I'll bet there is no back-up plan.
  7. Anybody know when this goes to committee?
  8. Ha! never let the facts get in the way of a good story!
  9. can we sponsor just one of Paton's boots?
  10. 1759.......above break even? you sure? I thought the figure quoted was more like 3,500
  11. might be interested in a jacket and another kilt (for the football, to save my good one) I have a few mates (Oor Wullie TA) who may be interested as well, I'll ping them an email if you want. I'll check on my kilt size and you can let me know what is available. Kind of jacket I would be looking for would be a casual (not formal) in black (to go with the PTFC tartan kilt!)
  12. Here's a thought. (off the wall) How much cash does the Trust raise, and effectively throw away (sorry give to the club to 'assist with the playing budget') each season? Lets face it what effectively happens is that amount is reduced from the cash the club have to spend on the playing budget. Good! I hear you say cos that will help the club reduce its debts. Rubbish, all that is presently happening is that it is helping keep the club afloat until the BoD asset strips the club in a move that will make them (the Proco) money and 'prolong the inevitable' demise of the club by a few years (5 to 10 perhaps). My question for debate, Should the Trust, instead of donating our cash to the BoD, start a fund to raise cash so that when the club does eventually go to the wall we have some funds to reserect the club in some form (Like Clydebank,.... sorry meant Airdrie United)?
  13. ...and being one of the two 'passionate, articulate' (never been described as that before) I can say I was shocked at the meeting to discover that only one other 'ordinary fan' bothered to turn up for probably the biggest decision the Trust have (and will) have to make on behalf of the fans. If YOU didn't bother to turn up to give your view then FFS stop harping on about it!
  14. ........not being a fan of pre-season frendlies (having had my fair share of dross in previous seasons), I have not been at the last 2 games, but I have to ask, Is Paton CB material? is he the sort of player who can 'deal' with high balls into the box? Quite frankly this move worries me.
  15. ..so am I, goodbye Tuffy, now can we move on?
  16. Quite frankly Tuffy should NOT be given another offer. sorry mate but the bus has gone.
  17. .....NOT another Tuffy thread.....he's gone, get over it!
  18. I still get a bit anoyed when this is brought up time and time again. The JT were between a rock and a hard place with this decision and I think it would have been much easier to vote no if there had been a 'better turnout' for the specially arranged meeting to gauge the fans views. Then perhaps YOU (meaning all those who did not bother to attend) could have let them know in advance just what you thought. Lets face it the BoD did a great job of providing a total lack of information prior to the Board meeting.
  19. I don't think our lot are particularly fit either.

    Bicycle Drivers

.........so what's the view on anglers on canal toe paths? and should prams be allowed on the toe paths? and should the canoeists be banned cos they get snagged in the fishing lines and chase the fish away, and what about barge boats, you cant get near the place for barge boats!
  21. I quite agree with him (I am a Tartan Army 'footsoilder'...(Ha! waits for a rant on that one)) but I believe you should respect the other team's anthem whoever you are playing. Engerlandshire are prefectly within their rights to use GSTQ, as are we, but we choose to use a, what? perhaps, 35 year old folk song. (although I do like it and prefer it to any alternative). Let them use GSTQ, give it some respect and let us sing our own.
  22. Let us know how you get on, and get some photos of the team (is there a website for the team we can check out?
