  1. I would be more than happy to have Shaggy as manager with Archie as player/coach.
  2. Reading the article it is obvious Archie is still in shock at the speed in which McNamara left, they were good friends and the timing has not given Archie time to think about the future. He rightly says he cannot play, coach and manage so he needs time to decide if he is ready to stop playing. Perhaps a better idea would be Shaggy as manager and Archie player/ coach.
  3. I think he will wait to see the conditions on Saturday before making a decision on O'Donnell, with all this rain the pitch could be very heavy and with his ankle problems might not be the best place to make his return. Would not be surprised to see Muihead at right back and Archie playing.
  4. The break up of the 1971 cup winning team and the refusal to give him money to buy the players he believed would have taken us to a higher level.
  5. Cannot imagine a Shaggy led team playing anything else but good football. I really believe this is a good management team in the making, lets get on with winning this league. Normally when a new manager comes in the players respond with positive results.
  6. Interesting to see whether Archie continues playing or will he partner Muirhead with Balatoni. Also could we spend whatever compensation we got on soon to be out of contract players.
  7. Archie would give us stability at a crucial time. Would another manager coming in with his own ideas not cause more problems.
  8. Just a thought but seeing as it is all gloom and doom Elvis is now available!!
  9. A year ago many wanted McNamara sacked so let's stop all this gloom and doom, the senior players now need to take the lead and allow the board time to get the right manager in, please no panic lets just get the right man. We were just a stepping stone to the next level, we are supporters he was not, Dundee United are now a stepping stone to bigger things, story goes that united fans don't want him so it may be a tricky job for him. Good luck Jackie and Sid, I think you are going to need it.
  10. He is class, you do not drop him, we have the right players to cover any weakness he has and we now look like scoring from every set piece. It is a pleasure to watch this team, for how much longer who knows but lets just enjoy it for now.
  11. If Jackie did decide to go why it is a cert that Sid will follow him, would he not relish the chance to be the manager of Thistle with his choice of assistant, Archie for example.
  12. I have been watching Thistle games for over 50 years and we have always had players who divide the supporters, you pay your money and that makes you entitled to your opinion as long as it is not abusive. My opinion for what it is worth is that the ball should do the work, defenders and less skilful players win the ball give it to Forbes or Erskine and let them entertain and create. I will just use the first half of the Morton game where Forbes was simply a class apart from any other player on the park. He is not a work horse and he cannot tackle but who cares, give me is skill and ability every time. Erskine is the great enigma, not since Dennis McQuade have we had such an entertainer, yes you are never sure what he is going to do and I guess neither does he at times but please guys these are players to enjoy and cherish, we might not have them for much longer.
  13. As the saying gooes "What part of no do you not understand"
  14. I agree with you but they will find 9 other clubs no matter how small to play with newco.
  15. The whole situation is disgusting, the innocent parties in all this are the ones who are going to suffer most, if the SFL clubs vote no then they lose, if they vote yes they lose. Regan has said newco will be in SFL1 or failing that SPL 2. My feeling is that they want a no vote so that SPL2 can then be setup with newco and nine others, the weaker the nine others then the better chance newco has of being back in SPL1 2013. What happens to the clubs in SFL1 who vote no, they will have no chance of promotion and will die a slow painful death thus giving what Rangers and Celtic have always wanted, a culling of the smaller clubs and all the money staying in the SPL.
