  1. We were the clear winners of the first half but the second we didn't come out of the blocks and things started to deteriorate (quite rapidly once BMMMH came off). Which brings me to the Mental One. Class act. Graft, ability, was fired up and was very vocal, effectively organising Doolan and the midfield. We only started to struggle when he was getting tired. For me was MOTM although Archibald did also have a very good game. Halliwell was shakey today. He needs to tighten things up. Paton took his goal well. I was convinced he meant to take only one touch before shooting, but thankfully he had enough space that the extra one didn't matter. Glad to see he kept it down as he usually balloons similar situations. Referee was a bit bizarre. Let everything go in the first half then suddenly went card happy in the 2nd. Marc Twaddle was also a right moany so and so. Should have been booked well before he actually was. An important 3 points. Onwards and upwards!
  2. Spot on. Dunfermline are going to have to cut their cloth damned soon as well. Their debts are huge and it's only a big turn-over and the goodwill of a handful of directors that's allowing them to sustain even bigger losses than we've had over the past few seasons. If they don't get back up to the SPL this season I'd anticipate they could be boxed into quite a tight corner.
  3. Correct. Melville claimed about 2 months after joining Dundee that he'd pay off the debt the Club owed to Bennett (6 figure sum IIRC) and that the Club would own the ground and be debt free ( ) within a matter of weeks.
  4. Ross County have a funny habit of having figures vary like that in league c.f. cup games. I'm saying nothing.
  5. The one that should be with you later this evening! it appears was sent to you on Sunday
  6. This is my fault. File was not in my copies of historical minutes when reconstructing the website. Should be up in 5 minutes.
  7. I sometimes wonder if we do this already
  8. John Robertson, Craig Samson and Lance Gilmour superstars YAAS!
  9. Better in the second half, but I felt the game passed him by quite a bit in the first.
  10. Bryn wasn't really that much to blame for the 1st goal. He could have maybe got a hand to it, but the players in front of him should have done better to close down the dummy pass and McNamara's lunge was unnecessary as it probably ought to have been covered by Archie behind him. 2nd goal was a howler mind. Liam missed two absolute sitters (granted the keeper got a touch 2nd time but should have still buried it). It's really sad how he's become a shadow of the whippet he was 2 years ago. Gutted for us to lose in those circumstances. I hope Boyle's confidence doesn't take a battering after his penalty miss because he had a great game, showed brilliant anticipation for his goal and has been arguably our best man all season. McNamara had a slightly disappointing game, but Archie and Kinniburgh were generally solid, which was good to see.
  11. Said tutorials were Thursday and Friday, Mr Towers
  12. Cracking atmosphere in the Brass Monkey. Gutting to lose in that manner.
  13. Even if this did happen, we'd be low down on their list of creditors.
  14. Given the 800 Thistle regulars, you'll be in a queue on the street until about Wednesday unless you head off there now.
  15. If he'd accept his original wages (which we probably can't afford!) I wouldn't mind having him back, as he's a game-changer: something our current team lacks. What is clear in hindsight is that the fee Dundee paid for him is at least 3-4 times what he was worth!
  16. Knowing your track record of boycotts, that's us looking for another national coach then...!
  17. The Coagie Triangle is occasionally used to refer to the football clubs on Tayside (normally the "big" 3, but occasionally using St Johnstone as the West End corner, Dundee as the East End Corner, and the likes of Forfar, Arbroath, Montrose and Brechin as the 3rd corner). Essentially a derogatory term for those non-central belt types whose first experience of transport was a combine harvester and for whom a shower is a rarity.
  18. No nominations were received for the Board Representative position when the nomination period during the election cycle closed (IIRC that was back in March). The Trust Constitution then requires the Trust Board to elect someone to that position from within their number, and that appointment, along with all other appointments as a result of the election (with or without a ballot if it's contested/uncontested) are noted at the AGM. There is no "requirement" as such for a vote to be taken endorsing Morag as the Board Rep so to speak, nor indeed is there if we only received one valid nomination during the election cycle. It is lamentable that the past 2 years have seen insufficient numbers standing to force an election even with respect to Ordinary Board Members, let alone in the specific positions of Club Board Rep, Secretary and Treasurer. I know this is a wee bit further along the horizon, but the next set of elections will, I'd imagine, follow a similar timetable to last. If people want to force a debate and to make the Trust truly representative, they should consider standing for any vacant positions. If my maths is right, 3 regular board positions and the Treasurer's position will be open for nominations at the next cycle.
  19. I could be wrong, but is it essentially that the Trust isn't subject to corporation tax because we don't make a qualifying "profit" as an entity? VAT would also be irrelevant at this stage because our turnover is nowhere near the registration threshold.
  20. This was absolutely not the intention. As per Tomved's post, this was not supposed to be a major unveiling of a majestic plan, but quite simply an effort to engage with the fan-base, communicate what little we know about the current situation, and canvass to aid a consensus on how we should respond as and when we have a clearer idea of the substance, if there is any, behind the proposed restructuring. I didn't speak at the meeting, largely because the sentiment of anything I had to say was covered rather neatly by David on pretty much all areas. It did get bogged down in the detail of the Board Rep position, which was a little disappointing as the problems at the Club are much deeper rooted than that and it's an ancillary issue. Tom and David did try to steer away from the issue but at the end of the day it is an Open Meeting and the people who turned up had the opportunity to speak about other issues. My own view is that the Board Representative situation is actually an unhelpful road-block in the more general discussion, as it's the only detailed substantive issue to have been properly brought to a head. Towards the end we did tentatively get onto the issue of engagement, and people have their own views about how best to bring this out, but all-too-often it turns into a chicken and egg discussion and apathy breeding apathy. The fundamental problem is best highlighted by Hot Shot's post earlier in the thread: a lot of people don't want anything to do with the Trust, but they can't articulate why (not their fault, I hasten to add) and the Trust struggle to engage with them and form a sort of mandate and clear purpose as a result.
  21. Thanks to all who turned up. Probably about 50-60 people turned up in the end. Clicky Skip to 8:30 for the start of the actual meeting. The sound is, at times more than a little temperamental, especially from the floor where we were using a microphone some distance from the feed mic (which was near the lectern mic). Medium-tech solution if you like, but hopefully you should be able to hear most of it.
  22. It should be available soon. I'm just checking the sound quality of the recording just now.
  23. The radio mic was used by Tom briefly in between David and Morag. If you didn't hear him, I'll let him know and ask people to shout or use the lectern.
