1. Agree with you completely about Gallacher, hope we do sign him up. Am I right in thinking he is only about 18? Looked like he could be a fantastic find like Sinclair. Regarding the other trialist I dont think there was one, I thought I saw Shaun Fraser wear a strip that didnt have a number at the back, not sure if you were referring to him as a possible trialist or if you were getting mixed up with Johnny Lindsay.
2. Yep agreed, Tommy Stewart can also play in midfield if required in addition to the others we already have. Could do with another player upfront
3. Do you mean Will that they were originally selling them but there was few so few people bought them they have given up and decided to tell their supporters to go to Firhill and buy them or do you mean they were never selling them in the first place and its Firhill where fans have to buy them? I hope its the latter otherwise it really is going to be a very sparse crowd
4. Agreed with a lot of what has already been said. The young lads were excellent: Sinclair what a prospect he is Campbell had a really good game Bannigan had some great touches when he came on Lindsay looked okay when he was on. By the way anyone know the young centre back was? Was it Kyle Lockhhead or was it the lad from Celtic Declan Gallacher? If its Gallacher am I right in thinking he is only about 18 if so should get him signed him up now looked pretty confident and like Sinclair has bags of potential. And if it was Lockhead then he is only about 19 so again fantastic potential. Of the other older players Fox (bar possibly giving away the penalty) and Rowser were excellent. Flannigan did get stuck in. Cairney ran himself ragged but again sometimes does to much and ends up giving the ball away. My concern was with what I would term perhaps 3 of our key players - Doolan, Erskine and Stewart. Not only did they seem toothless but they looked way way down from SPL standard and as the lad sitting next to me Stewart and Erskine in his opinion looked slightly disinterested. Not to sure if I would completely agree with that last part but there was a gulf between them supposedly our better players and the majority of Well players. Still not to concerned its early days and just another friendly. Another couple of games before the real action started. The main thing was great to see a fantastic Thistle crowd for Craigan, a great player for the club and hell of a nice guy. Well deserved Stephen hope you enjoyed the night
5. Yep well said, Gallacher is only 18 and already shows some very promising signs. Great if we can get Balatoni though I am presuming it would only be on loan and Gallacher waiting in the wings so if Balatoni goes back to Hearts, or any other defender leaves Gallacher is pretty much ready to go into the first team.
6. Maybe Jack Boyle can play in defence I honestly dont know Jackie did say that he Boyle had some good touches last weekend but wanted to see his fitness, maybe therefore thats why todays trialist got the full 90 minutes. Then again maybe its someone else altogether.
7. Anyone any idea who it is? I thought it may be Jack Boyle as Jackie was keen to give him another chance but dont think he plays in defence?
8. Is their new training wear out mate? Just I couldn't find anything on the Greaves website
9. Also Halliwell, Buchanan, Robertson, Boyle and Hodges wages would have been freed up since they have all left the club in 2011
10. I know what your saying as we do always seem to be skint but thinking about it could be money from season tickets in already, Centenary Fund and perhaps if quite a few tickets have already been sold for this Celtic game (though to be honest I have no idea if any have been sold or not)
11. This is really good news as the lad comes very highly rated. All the best Aaron and welcome to Partick Thistle
12. are there new Thistle training tops or polo shirts on sale just now or something? Just when you mention the new kits. I tried to check the Greaves shop online but doesnt look to be updated yet
13. Are those the ones with Airdrieonians stamped across them?
14. Definetly and as guy incognito informed me earleir in the thread apparentyl Lindsay can play at Centre back as well anyway
15. Does the lad Johnny Lynsday from St Johnstone not play on the left also as well?
16. In Greaves today and the lad said home top should be out on July 7th. Confirmed the away top was black though he seemed to think their would be pinstripes on it as well.
17. Is this the same Kevin Smith who was with Dundee United and Nottingham Forrest? If so would be a fairly decent signing for the first divison
18. Okay I shouldnt really respond to a pathetic keyboard, Harry Roebrts obsessed keyboard gangster like you but as I have said many a time I cannot stand Celtic or Rangers. Where I dont really have a problem is in this case loads of Celtic fans turning up for this friendly because the net result is we get all the money. And another thing unlike you I dont need to hide behind different computer aliases. You will generally find I post under the user name Third Lanark on various forums. Not surprised you changed your user name from the infamous Rangers supporting CRM which you posted under on pie & bovril, however as it did then your pathetic keyboard gangster routine gives you away every time
19. Exactly, even if we only got 3000 would still be extremely financially viable. When do we even get 3000 for a league game never mind a friendly. Even if its not on the Celtic website no harm in mentioning it to as many Celtic fans as possible or posting on some of their forums. Doesnt matter what we think of Celtic or their supporters the way I see it its in our interest to get as many of them turning up for the game as possible.
20. Celtic fans can buy tickets from the game at Firhill they dont need to go to Celtic Park to buy them, if they stay in Maryhill would make sense for them to opo into Firhill and get them. I know there are 5 Celtic fans who I know been going on about this game and are happy to go into Firhill and buy the tickets for the end Celtic supporters will be in as opposed to having to traipse to the East End to do so.
21. Great news, all the best at Partick Thistle lads
22. Oh I would never do that, in fact quite the opposite I think they and Ross County will be favourites to win. Rather the loss of Harkins and Forsyth just means they perhaps wont walk the league as some of their smug fans seemed to think
23. We might not get a fee but Im sure we nay get a wee boost as definetly feel that Dundee will be a little weaker without both Harkins and Forsyth now.
24. Very tough start they dont come much harder than Dundee in the first divison, mind you not really any easy games. Last season we only got a few games at home with more than 2500. First game of the season against Dundee at home has at least one good point with our finances I am pretty sure we will get over 3000 for this and we need every penny plus a sell out at hospitality.
