  1. Click. Looking likely we will get Jackie Mac from above article. As I said previously would be happy with his resigning far more than Maxwell's. As well as still really good fitness levels he seems to be rated for his professionalism and considered a role model by a lot of guys in football.
  2. Speaking of which I see he has rejected a new contract with Clyde, given that he has proven he has goals in him I would have thought he would be a striker to consider buying
  3. In this scenario is it not fair to critics the 25k or so that Eddie Prentice or his company take home. Surely in the case of value for money if the Jags Trust ran the Centenary Fund for free then that 25k or so could be put to better use Graham? Almost seems to me at times that while making every penny count with the playing budget the board are not so cautious with other areas of the club
  4. Funnily enough thats the same thing I think when reading your posts
  5. No I havent suggested anything, I happened to ask how you knew they had all made payments in as there may have been other reasons why they were allowed onto the board. As you say it maybe a requirement that they have to pay a set fee but euqally it may not, I really have no idea, not to sure that you have either but as usual you jump the gun
  6. Again very well put points Graeme. One concern is that will fans of the team be patient enough to accept that this process you are describing will take a few years, remember there are a few who almost seem to think we have a God given right to be in the SPL. Secondly with the valid points Grant made about Juniors they are in many ways unproven, if they were not to work out we could end up being drawn into a relegation battle, then how much money would we have lost by being relegated. Though there are so many numerous faults with the running of Dunfermline one thing can be guaranteed virtually, that is they wont be relegated next season. Whereas if we have no money to spend on players other than a few Juniors or some old journeyman then do we not seriously risk being involved solely in a battle to avoid relegation next season
  7. How do you know for a fact that some of these guys has contributed money to the club. I dont care whetehr you take exception or not, if you choose to become a member of a board at a football club is it generally accepted that you bring something with you for the football club, I am seriously questioning what it is that some(not all) of these guys have actually brought
  8. Dont mean to sound pedantic but Gray scored 8 goals in 25 games and one of the problems was that he was taken out the squad and Stevie Lennon put in. Anywway I'll try and steer clear of the D Gray word now
  9. To be fair both Buchanan and Cairney came from other SFL clubs and are better than Doolan and Erskine. Harkins did not make it at Blackburn but was still a real asset for us.Twaddle was a Falkirk player not making it into their first team and was a reasonable success. Mark Roberts again from a fellow SFL club. Im sure there are a few others I could find as well.
  10. I forgot to add we dont even know eitehr if the policy of signing Juniors has even worked either. True Doolan scored a magnificent goal there and Erskine has at times looked good but there have been plenty of times when both have not delivered the goods. Hoepfully after a good pre-season both will be raring to go but at this stage is certainly cant be said that the policy of signing Juniors has been a success. Dunfermline/QOS have been relatively successful in signing players from first/divison teams ie Cardle, McKenna, McGregor just as Rith have signed Baird and this is a route I wish we had the funds to go down.
  11. Sone good points there Graham and cant disagree with them. You are absolutely correct, the clubs is skint, broke etc. My main criticism and I can see Grants points here that why Partick Thistle is skint, broke etc. The wealthy Tom Hughes and Allan Cowan are not. Neither are millionaires David Beattie, Grant Bannerman, Eddie Prentice, Billy Allan and last but not least Ronnie Gilfillan. If these gentleman could even contribute an extra £10k each I'm sure that would dig into the debt and allow us to sign a couple of extra players at the very least. With regards to the teams you have mentioned, Raith have already got John Baird and are certainly not waiting to July to start signing players, Stirling are linked with Billy Gibson, even Ayr United have signed Alan Trouten all skint clubs maybe but still not needing to go the Juniors route, which maybe is an indication of how ultra skint Partick Thistle the club is. By the way Graham lay off Super Damo Gray he was not that bad really
  12. Think a lot of people think because McCall has been a Manager of different clubs for so many years that he is getting on, when in actual fact he is not even that old for a Manager. He is younger than a lot of other Managers about - Gordon Chisholm, Calderwood, McGhee, Dick Campbell, Maitland,Davie Irons, Peter Houston etc etc. He may even be a year or so younger than Alan Moore soon to be appointed Morton Manager. Only about a year older than Craig Levein. As we have seen with John Lambie, Jocky Scott Craig Brown etc age is no barrier anyway.
  13. Why thank you very much :D
  14. Like Brian Hodge, Doolan and Kinniburgh next season will be make or break for Erskine, stepping up from the Juniors was always going to be a hard act, now he has had his season to settle in, next season will determine whether he makes in the first divison or if it is too big a level for him.
  15. Yes I do until you realised people were ridculing you for it.
  16. Really? Since he has been with us for over 3 years there has been plenty of opportunities with SPL/English clubs over that period I really dont recall him hooring over anyone then. I think he had an interest alright in the Dundee post but last I read it wasnt a hanging offence (though those who like Tangerine may feel it should be) In addition you keep bringing up how some fans keep referring to McCall as some God Like figure, can you fin dme a single quote on this whole website where someone has called him a God Like figure? No he is just a human being prone to making mistakes like the rest of us. Apart from Lambie Thistle are never going to get any God like Managers to take us to the SPL and its about time a number of our supporters realised this.
  17. Im hoping it is Bolton at Firhill as it may at least get more people through the gateand buck the general trend that very few people turn up for friendlies anyway.
  18. The cost of sacking McCall alone would at very least ensure that we became a part time team. In fact this club is so skint I doubt we could afford the money alone to pay compensation for Moore or Lennon alone never mind sacking the Manager we have who a lot of the supporters are happy with anyway.
  19. Sadly not a chance, McAlister is away because he has a chance of SPL football. One of the thing that sickens me is the amounts Rae can always throw at Morton no matter how much they lose per season cash wise. Second divison pay -£80,000 for Templeman, £40,000 for Russel. This season huge losses in attendance, hospitality, fees to Irons and Assistant. They still paid Grady and McManus a fee even though they were not contracted after the season, basically one of those fees where they dont criticise what happened at the club. Yet they can still pay more to Weatherson than us, can spend a fortune to buy Alan Moore off Stirling Albion for around 60k which is almost a certainty. Still pay money to put up the stand they bought off St MIrren. Despite all this they will still pay comfortably more wages than a lot of other First Divison teams when the reality is they should have been relegated years ago. Worrying for us and a lot of other teams is that Moore is a decent Manager and with a bit of money behind him can see Morton now challenge for the top.
  20. Really as opposed to Campbell who you believe was a very 'competent' Manager. Off the top of my head McCall has: Introduced a youth structure which is likely to be the future lifeblood for this club. Worked at keeping us in the first divison where as previously we were bordering on a club in freefall, he has also on some occasions got us challenging for promotion. Has had to work year upon year with a cut back budget which under a lot of other Managers would have seen us consigned to the second divison a long time ago. Has already generated 200k in sell on fees for players he has signed, that surpassesLambie and a lot of others when it comes to sell on fees. Plus there are others who will generate sell on fees if need be - Cairney, Buchanan and who knows what will happen if Hodge, Erskine etc have a far better second year at the club. As Steven said with the state this club is in then McCall is pretty much the best we can afford and if you believe 'competent' Managers like Campbell could do far better then you need your head read.
  21. You started with the title possibly leaving then state that there is not any real reason for him to be leaving. A bit confusing is it not
  22. I would be sorry to see McCall goes, but its only rumour and cant see many SPL clubs being able to afford any compensation. Lennon would be a good choice as replacement but I wouldnt be surprised to see him at least give Cowdenbeath a chance at surving in this division and can see SPL clubs coming in for him soon. But there has been very little linking McCall with anything else anyway so hopefully he is here for a while
  23. He is one of the ones who has been coaching the under 19's this season, with the season they have had then it says a lot about the potential of Donnelly as a coach. Maxwell though is a different matter
  24. Agree with you. Happy to have Donnelly in Coaching plus playing and would prefer to have McNamara as Assistant Manager and player. Do not see the need for Maxwell would have been better to get rid of him altogether and save a wage.
  25. Exactly, though I was under the impression they paid £5k per year to sit on the board so should be £6k. Though I wont hold my breath waiting to see it happen.
