  1. Madden is an absolute piece. That is all.
  2. Elliot had a very good game today- amazingly so did storey! Mcginty is an absolute liability and needs punted.
  3. Really good performance 1st half. Saunders and hazard look good. Harkins decent in first half but ran out of steam worryingly after half time. Didn’t see enough of cardle or Roy to make judgement. Weak link is Mcginty- he needs to go. Having said that it was never a pen. Nesbit looked awful for them and hearing robbie neilson on the radio afterwards- he is a total ******!!
  4. Seconded. If erskine is indeed moved on I’ll have had enough of Caldwell.
  5. Seems like a decent signing, time will tell
  6. Falkirk certainly appear to have started the window with a couple of decent signings. Having seen all the teams in the division though I genuinely don’t think there is much between all the teams. A couple of decent defensive signings for us would make a big difference.
  7. Just an opinion- thought folk ran away from him all day. Doesn’t do much with the ball either
  8. One of the best? Doesnt say much- No one was remotely good enough. We were pumped at home by a very poor Morton side.
  9. That first half was awful. No creativity whatsoever until erskine came on. Never want to see storey in a thistle shirt again he is absolutely honking. Two centre halfs badly needed along with a centre forward. Unfortunately McCarthy is not good enough either- he doesn’t have the energy required to play centre mid never mind ability. I think Caldwell will be given the window but I have to say he does not endear himself
  10. a couple of centre halfs wouldn’t go amiss
  11. Harkins is a massive upgrade on storer who contributed hee haw
  12. Positives from today were that Coulibaly came on and looks the real deal. His effort and desire alone put several others to shame. Ntambwe has some attributes but is he a better than McCarthy? I’m not sure. Bannigan is quality but he needs movement ahead of him. Liked the fact Caldwell was not afraid to fire on the forwards when we went behind. negatives- starting line up was a bit disappointing- probably politically amongst the squad a reasonable place for Caldwell to start but storey, Elliot and Doolan need benched for a while. Goal against was not a surprise at all. I think confidence counts for a lot but it’s difficult to build in a losing team. Getting Coulibaly into the starting line up would be a good step
  13. Thought Scott Allison spoke well yesterday. If he can motivate and organise the team today, then wouldn’t be averse to giving him a little longer, given the quality (or lack thereof) of the candidates linked so far
  14. Would ideally like someone who has a thistle connection but don’t fancy Duffy or Lennon and don’t think McCall would take it. Too early for Doolan so we need an outsider to keep the seat warm for him. First choice would probably be neilson if we could get him
  15. He was always dignified in defeat as well as victory. I hope we haven’t seen the last of Archie at thistle in some guise.
  16. Sad day. Time will tell if correct decision. At times we looked decent this season, at others we were poor
  17. Can see why Archie wanted to give three at the back a try but we never looked like scoring against a really poor side. Taking off Doolan and spittal were odd decisions for me given they have been in a bit of form. He’s given himself a problem with Elliot though- poor going forward and a liability at the back but he can’t drop him
  18. We do need to improve BUT it’s still early in the season. No one is running away with the league. Every team in the league has been beaten in some competition already. With support can come confidence and form. Archie has demonstrated he can be a good manager, handles himself with dignity and is a good ambassador for the club. If he goes things may get worse before better. Would you really want a Neil McCann, Alan Stubbs, McNamara, other mercenary behind the wheel?
  19. I think it’s strong leadership on Gerry’s behalf, and I totally agree with what he said. We still have it all to play for in the league and without the backing of the fans it becomes much harder.
  20. Not skipping over it at all- I said tolerance of poor results is low as a result of relegation- as is good will towards Archie. There’s no saying replacing Archie is a sure fire way to make things better.
  21. I didn’t, and by all accounts poor performances and disappointing results. I have seen every home game though, and thought we were decent twice against Morton, Falkirk and Celtic. I think squad looks decent now and return of bannigan will lift the team hugely.
  22. Can’t believe there was a single fan who wasn’t glad when Archie stayed on in Summer 17. The start to this season has certainly not been outstanding but neither has it been abysmal and some of the performances have been encouraging . The tolerance for poor results amongst the posters on the forums is very low currently as a result of relegation last year. But i think we need to be careful what we wish for - sandy Clark, Murdo McLeod, John Mcveigh, Tommy Bryce, dick Campbell, Gerry Collins, Derek whyte- change is no guarantee of success.
  23. Thought Mcginty and keown looked really solid yesterday - long may it continue. As for the return of banzo - superb
  24. https://www.pieandbovril.com/forum/index.php?/topic/230757-partick-thistle-201819-thread/&do=findComment&comment=12372807 this guys seems to know what he is talking about. In any case, why not trust the club- Gerry is an intelligent guy.
