  1. Hey I sprinted to try to catch the backdrop falling on the gaffer! I just failed! 'Twas a windy day!
  2. Celtic are playing in what was the Next Gen tournament as a consequence of playing in the Champions League - that takes priority so we are having to move our match to the following week
  3. He has already played for us in this competition thereby cup-tying him from playing for Ayr. Without having heard from the club on this I'd expect him to be available for selection tomorrow night!
  4. As the heading says which Newspaper heading is more likely: 1. It's a brotherly dream come true as Matthias joins Paul to team up at Old Trafford ... or 2. It's a brotherly dream come true as Paul joins Matthias to team up at Firhill. (Just a bit of fun for a dull Thursday night!)
  5. TJR - that is phenomenal! Kudos to you for that splendid read
  6. Similar but not quite identical - Thistle v Hamilton in the early 90's in one of John Lambie's returns, Thistle brought on Davie MacFarlane and then replaced him with Isaac English while Hamilton brought on Stevie Carr and he was replaced by Paddy Donaghy. First time I ever saw both teams sub their sub! Hamiltons was injury related as their guy went off on a stretcher - ours wasn't!!
  7. I don't think Jered Stirling ever had a penalty touched by the opposition goalkeeper!
  8. Id guess at the fact that with the LC semi finals there wouldn't be much media interest so maybe wait until you could get more coverage out of it. Press conference Monday to preview Tuesday game so I guess we will get an update then on potential new signings
  9. Out of curiosity, whether true or not, why not let the club announce it?
  10. Think 6 weeks is a worse case scenario - hopefully a couple of weeks less!!
  11. Might be right - who reffed the game in Feb 2012 where Paton was sent off?
  12. I'm sure he did a game at Kirkcaldy - not sure which one but I'm sure he sent off a Thistle player in the game (not the Muirhead red card) - that's his only one to date I think!!!
  13. Incidentally the squad of 16 had no fewer than 10 players to either be in or come through the Weir Academy - most pleasing!
  14. Number 10 was Alex Lynn from the Under 17 side - featured a couple of times as a sub - this his first start and looked excellent especially in the second half
  15. Totally concur with your comments LSR - always found Bobby to be a first class bloke who backed the club long after his directorship ended alongside his son Neil. Still see him at the games occasionally and delighted to hear he's keeping well - always fret when I see a thread with just a name as a heading!!
  16. I'm still comfortable that while all of these schemes are decent they don't give out a free season ticket to kids under 16 no matter the number in the family - and ours has been ongoing for years meaning we now have more kids following us than ever before - the hard task is keeping them!
  17. The difference is the prime seats are paid for by adults even if they don't use them. It is difficult to come up with seats together for prospective new ticket holders due to free child tickets. This is a sensible solution - kids can still get a free season ticket which is for a specific area - if you want a prime seat it's still only about £1.20 per game - or the likelihood is you can sit in an unreserved area for almost every game, maybe bar a couple. I'm proud that PTFC is still the leading club in Scotland for looking after its young supporters, nowhere else matches us
  18. And Matthew Shields weeks before Gavin Rushford was 16 - but no idea what his DOB was
  19. No it was Stephen Finnie v Inverness and we were winning 3-1 at the time!
  20. Development side didn't get a penalty last night - first time in 5 games!
  21. Making it all the more remarkable it was into the wind!!
  22. I doff my cap - these statistics are truly brilliant - love it!!
  23. Who can forget that Parkhead game! The first attempt ruled offside by a certain linesman called Jim McGilvary! When the second one went in the referee, Bobby Orr, didn't even look at his colleague he just gave the goal!
