  1. He was out of contract at Celtic and no one made him an offer as Strachan was yet to start. I remember reading he was in the car heading south to sign for Wolves when Strachan finally got in touch, but McNamara chose to commit to Wolves as he had a verbal agreement. The fact he had just had a benefit match is irrelevant; his contract had expired and Celtic had shown no interest in offering a new deal.
  2. Superb finishing. Excellent highlights. Think Livi's are the most professional looking in the league and usually very quickly uploaded.
  3. While 6-1 is a great score, if it comes down to goal difference at the end of the season then we may regret not taking more goals when very little effort was required. We could and should have had double figures in at least 3 games this season.
  4. What the hell are you talking about???? I must have missed the 11 Terry Hurlocks Jackie used to send out every week.
  5. I'm not trying to erase Shug's indiscipline. My point is that some posters here have stated before games after Cappielow they are glad he is not playing because he's supposedly a thug. I'm pointing out the double standards and hoping they will now give it a rest. We need everybody. Giving out the stats for Welsh is all well and good; totally useless for the team if he gets himself sent off and a ban for sheer stupidity. Again.
  6. Because Murray's behaviour was nowhere near the same league. Welsh clearly tried to headbutt the player and was nearly fighting with Balatoni to land some more punches. People were labelling Murray as a thug for simply moving his head forward! This was far, far worse. Welsh looked like a headcase.
  7. Him and Forbes were noticably honking in the first half (both looked like they couldn't be arsed) and his passing was suspect on more than one occaision. Put the the better aspects of those two together and we'd have a right good player.
  8. I hope this shuts people up about Murray. This was far worse and the fact he was nearly fighting Balatoni to get involved with the Accies player after clearly aiming a headbutt (not a mere slight square up) was stupidity beyond belief, and not the first time this season he has lacked discipline. The foul had been given to us, we were cruising and instead of just keeping the head and walking away he reacts like that and gets Muirhead booked too in the commotion after. We need everyone at this stage and he could have had a multiple game ban if the ref had made the right call. I really feared the worse when the linesman called the ref over. Lucky boy. Nearly took the shine off a great result and good performance second half - Lawless, Muirhead and Balatoni were standouts.
  9. For me it's about winning the league proving we're the best team, and the players being rewarded for their efforts rather than playing in the SPL. Higher prices at the gate, higher wages, poor kick off times if on TV, poor quality games and more defeats. If the new proposals are approved, more than likely only 2 games against the bigger teams then back to the same teams we're used to playing against. Ironically as much as I detest the current set up, in financial terms I think it would only be really worth it for us if we went up this year and things stayed the same for at least another season. Self interest as per usual. **** the SPL and their incompetence. I still get riled by that second vote and what it meant for us.
  10. Because last season he was pretty poor. A one year deal to let him prove himself. I admit I groaned when I heard he had signed on. Glad to say he is one of the most improved players in many years and really proved his critics wrong. Needs to recapture his early season form and confidence though following his injury. Hopefully guys like him and Erskine get signed up quick.
  11. I don't get this attitude. We beat teams we have beaten comfortably and struggled with this season especially Airdrie in December. Since when did we have an old firm attitude to demanding barrow loads of goals? We were very comfortable against Hamilton, acknowledged by Billy Reid. There was no danger of getting beat against Airdrie, it just took a while for the goal to come. For this kind of logic here's some other useless stats. We lost 2-0 at Dumbarton. The week before Morton lost 3-0 to them at home. Last week Morton won 4-1 at Dunfermline, this week we win 4-0 keeping a clean sheet. What does this all mean? Nothing; it's a victory and 3 points or a defeat and no points regardless of goals scored or conceded. 4 finished games unbeaten under Archie. A victory and draw against the team third and first in the league. The day I complain about that is the day I chuck it.
  12. Give it a rest and support the bloody team
  13. How about "we won" or "it was a sublime goal". Wind yer neck in.
  14. Which again shows you are talking nonsense. We played great against Morton at Firhill and lost. Played better against Livi and drew. To win the league you need wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. We created far more chances in the last two games and the opposition barely got a sniff. Fox has made one save in the last two games. Goals win games. Did we scrape by Cowdenbeath or Livingston or Dunfermline when we won by single goal margins? We did against Raith but thats about it. Two comfortable 1-0 wins without needing to get into top gear. That will do nicely.
  16. Don't come on with a nonsense opinion if you have nothing to back it up. Thank you.
  17. Hardly scraped. You have no context at all to your points. Yes I do. Next.
  18. OK don't answer the question then. Your stance we need to improve is ludicrous. Undefeated in 5 games. 4 wins and a point away to the league leaders and in-form team. Archie has an unbeaten start and two clean sheets. Frankly your opinion at this stage of his managerial career having seen no games is of little value.
  19. And Welsh's ability to tackle is an example - like Livingston? At times Welsh looks like he doesn't fancy mucking in every bit as much as Forbes. More mobile yes, fine when he does turn it on, at other times as much a liability as Forbes. And Forbes' delivery when on form makes us threatening. Although I will say that I thought he did OK at right back, and was OK the other night. Didn't think so today.
  20. So it's clear you can't form an accurate opinion them, considering what was in those reports. Whether or not we win league or cup, time will tell but your current stance is ludicrous. Please tell me what an experienced manager would have done in any of the last 3 games to either improve performance or result?
  21. I'm not comparing Forbes against Morton- he may be off form at the moment but I just don't see what the big fuss is about Welsh. He's OK to me. That's about it.
  22. Perhaps I should jump on a plane and give some insightful analysis from miles away? As for being constructive - see just about every post you've made in this thread.
  23. Maybe you should learn to read as well as not post rubbish. Where in any of these reports did it say 1. We were rubbish 2. We need to improve 3. The league is out of our hands 4. We have been anything but a good advert for the first division. Having been at all 3 games the results have been reflective of the performances and I'm satisfied.
  24. Took the words right out of my mouth.
