  1. Yeah but glassing cowan is !!!! Think it's time i chucked it......no one listens and the thugs rule.
  2. I meant no offense to those who paid hard earned money to go today and I'm sure they all supported the team............my post was meant in the context of what had been written. Posting the comments that were attached to the original post do no Thistle supporter credit. It was that i was having a go at...........and will continue to do so. I'm sick of the mindless pathetic, thug like mentality of some who post on here.......they bring shame on the name of Partick Thistle.
  3. No I wasn't but as I've followed the team for some 38 yrs I've seen plenty of dire performances.......nothing would get me to stoop as low as your original post.....you felt the need to share that with us all, so take it on the chin when some of us..take exception to it. Be hurt, angry, but try be constructive. Foul mouthed abusive rant does you no credit. There's a mentality on here that when times are hard it's time to abuse all connected with the club and let's not kid ourselves, your original post is nothing but abusive. You even threatened to glass Cowan in another post.....you insane ?
  4. Wow, a lot of thinking went into this !! Just a thought, but how about we take a stand and actually try supporting the team ? Things are bad, there ain't no getting away from it.............but do they deserve this ?
  5. Are you on commission to post on here how p1sh or sh1te thistle are......every post, same stuff !!! We've already been advised that Robbo seemed to have a back problem. You really stupid enough to believe Corky dropped robbo just to get out of the thistle job ?
  6. I remember lambies prem lge side losing 1.0 to them in the scottish cup. One of the worst nights i had watching jags.........history repeating itself.
  7. For what it is worth , i admired his honesty. I don't blame him for not walking away or even indicating he will. Think we do need jackie and archie back into the team sooner rather than later. Did think, given we have mostly the same squad as last season, he would have found a system that suits the players we have by now. that does alarm me somewhat. this is not the worst time our club has gone through (and a good few of you would do well to remember that) but it is certainly no fun at the moment and things need to improve and improve fast.
  8. Very true. I'm a McCall fan but this result sickens me. There can be no excuses. I dread to think what sort of crowd we'll get next week or week after at Firhill. It's lucky we ain't cut adrift even if it is early in season, but hard to see where our next win is going to come from. The dundee result gave us all false hope.....table makes awful reading. Words fail me tonight, feel sick.
  9. There was a big push for Hospitality for the dundee game in the weeks leading up to the match. It's very alarming that it then never took place and the club never saw fit to explain why. The stadium development has also all gone quiet so yeah may be it is time for some updates from the club......but will we get them ?
  10. Very dissappointing to go out as a good cup run would have generated much needed funds. On reading "live texts" on the OS it seems we dominated the second half but same old story, couldn't score. Certainly seems there was a vast improvement from the Morton game. Still hurts to lose though.
  11. MacBeth had a strain and wasn't fit for saturday. McCall is thinking of sending burns on loan to give him more regular football. McCall has said pre season the youth lads won't be rushed. why chuck them in just for some to give them such a hard time at the moment. Heard a few having a right go at Burns at the tail end of last season..........and that was when the lad was having to deal with the death of his father !!! Some have no patience what so ever. Personally, I'd give the lads that so under performed a chance on Tuesday to show their worth.....Maybe have Ryan (if fit) and one other of the youth lads on the bench.
  12. I actually think archie missing could be the problem. I think he leads the side well. Though i do take your point on that we seem to miss a "kinda hardman" in the team......they all seem a bit to nice.
  13. so liam and sid have not proven they can score goals at this level ? liam certainly struggling for form and seems to has lost confidence...but c'mon......don't be so OTT
  14. Boyd has just scored !! Agreed about Tuesday. Massive improvement not just needed.......i'd say demanded.
  15. I genuinely felt sorry for everyone who made the trip to Cappielow yesterday. In saying that , i'm watching the Boro v's sheffield utd match on SS1 just now. It's that bad im seriously considering going to do my ironing !! Ground probably 3/4 empty, no atmosphere, the game is awful, just awful. No quality service to front men, front men look like they lack confidence. No desire to win tackles, to get ball in box. Passes going astray. Guys does this sound familiar ?
  16. OK, but bare in mind yesterday was an away game for us.........so surely more to be said about the lack of morton fans in the stadium than our own !!
  17. Have to say in the last number of years we have had a number of poor forward lines. Callaghan was probably the worst i've seen in a thistle jersey. I don't think any of the guys we have just now would come close to being in my list of worst forwards ive seen at firhill. i've commented elsewhere my views on liam so won't repeat them here. sid has been a fine servant, not an out and out goal scorer, granted, but he wasn't brought to the club for that. Dools has struggled with the step up from the jnrs and Grehan has only turned full time since joining us......im willing to give them both more time.
  18. There is nothing wrong with having optimisim but i totally agree with you. we have no right to be in the SPL and have to earn it. for what it is worth, i think some on the board are still living in the past what with how we were relegated from the SPL and haven't got over it and moved on. I hope yesterday has finally hit home for everyone connected with PTFC that it's time to roll the sleaves up and get down to some damn hard work. What has hurt and angered me about yesterday is there is not one of you who was there, who hasn't said there was a lack of effort and desire. I can accept us losing, even to Morton, who i feel are not as good us, but i hate the thought that there was no effort or desire. I'm certain the majority who post on here, will forgive the lads for losing, if the play with heart, passion and show they give a damn. If they don't then that is unforgivable. Times are hard for everyone. A good few of you spent time and effort to get to the match. you appear to have been badly let down by the players. I only hope the lads realise that and endevour to insure there is no repeat.
  19. There can be no doubt Liam's confidence is gone at this moment in time. The injuries over the last 2 to 3 years will not have helped one bit in that (yes i know what an understatement). Perhaps dropping him to the bench may help......perhaps it may have an even more damaging effect to his confidence...i just don't know. I've always liked Liam but always thought, even when fit, he'll get 5 chances a game, miss 4 and score one. right now he badly needs a goal but i don't think he has become a bad player. The big problem is that out of all the front players, Liam is clearly the seen as the main goal threat. He doesn't find the net and we look like we'll struggle to score. one goal in 3 league games is alarming. Just a thought though. We are by no means alone in having a forward who is suffering a major loss in form and confidence. Dundee, 1 goal in 3 league games (and they have what is widely recognised as far mor attacking options than us). Other teams in the league are struggling for goals in opening 3 games. did any of you see torres at the world cup? He is world class (ok i'm biased as i like liverpool) but he looked like he'd never played the game before. Like liam, injuries a big part to play in that. I'm sure it'll be only a matter of time before he is banging them in again on a regular basis. The other one who comes to mind just now is rooney. Could'nt stop scoring for most of last season. Had an awful world cup...then i heard a stat last night stating he hasn't scored in 13 games for man u ! I'm not in any way comparing Liam to torres or rooney.......but just trying to highlight that even the best of them can suffer loss of form and go on long run of not scoring .........hopefully, Liam gets his head down, works damn hard and finds his confidence soon....he's done it before and i'm sure he will do it again.
  20. had been thinking how i was going to reply to the initial post. you sir, have saved me the bother. wonderful post
  21. I live in the Port, moved there some 4 yrs ago when i remarried. Your right I wasn't there. I only see my ten yr old daughter at weekends and as such i'm lucky if i make 10 games a season. All would be at firhill, as i want jags to get my money when i go to games, not some team i couldn't care less about. i do value other opinions mate, and i fully take on board people who paid hard earned money to go today appear to have been subjected to an awful performance. Just don't agree that it means we have a bunch of duds or pub players. Nor do i believe players and management don't care. They do, however, have to improve and quickly.
  22. Was Jackie Mac not playing very well before his leg break ? Can't blame McCall for that. for whatever reason, we have been very unlucky with new signings picking up long term injuries.....all of them named above have had one. Grehan needs more than a handful of games this season before we write the lad off. do agree though, things have gone array since gerry left as assistant. Why, i wish i knew.
  23. Don't forget last game of last season, chelsea hit wigan for 8 !!!!! and wigan's next game is away to Spurs, where the lost 9-1 last season !!! wigan fans must be so looking forward to that one. I was looking for some comfort tonight.....i think i just found it. There are others worse off than ourselves.
  24. But Jaggy are they commenting accurately ? I think where some of us have an issue is the inconsistancy of some on here. not saying by any means that the team / manager/ bod etc shouldn't be critisized but is the way they are hated one week and loved the next so accurate ? By all accounts it was a very poor today . Probably as poor as last week was good. Can it not be the case that too many had an off day. Not that they are duds, pub players etc. We all hurt when the jags lose. doesn't matter if we are there or not. trust me my mood tonight is awful and yes im angry at how poor they seem to have played. I just don't see where it gets us by name calling of the players (or at least certain ones).
  25. I believe McKennan is calling it as he see's it too. Is it now to be the case that only those who go to the games have a right to an opinion ? Think all some of us want is some middle ground. It's either utter crap and the players and manager are tossers or (after last week) everything is superb .
