    I'm Off!

Its more a half-baked analogy that they should start in the seaside leagues

Bottom line noone should take pro Sevco bullying or blackmail from any source. They are a dead duck for the foreseeable future. It's getting a bit like trying to re-house a convicted sex attacker. Do we put them next to the school? No. Next to the swing park? No. We place in the countryside or seaside under close supervision? Yes!

Totally fair comments Iain. As you say the board's statements have come from a business point of view and running a solvent successful club is their remit. Unfortunately the sfa and Spl are taking this to extremes and trying to force through half arsed changes to preserve the ghost of a club that was wholly responsible for its own demise. This scaremongering about Scottish football is ripping our clubs apart. The beaks know what the malcontents find just about acceptable, newco in sfl 3. Not a severe punishment considering the mess that they are in. I just hope the fans thoughts are taken into account. What's the point in putting newco in div 1 then they go bust again half way through the season? Livi had to put up a bond just to get back in div3, they were only in administration. Careful what you wish for, and don't believe the hype/tripe.

    I'm Off!

Albion Rovers would have been left to duie like Third Lanark and Clydebank
  5. Boycott off Only kidding. I was working, otherwise I'd have gone myself. Bad memories of that ground, sorry good memories. Last game that Sandra was in charge Any protestations? Team meetings?
  6. This would be my 30th anniversary of attending games. I've been going regularly for the last 25 seasons and managed every home game plus a few away games last season, so not a super fan but put 500 quid into the club through tickets, programmes and persuading friends to come along. The sad reality is that if we are put in the position not to attend, in all likelihood we won't have a club to support in its current form in a couple of seasons. I hope that the board come out with an unequivocal no so we can get back to supporting the team as much as we can. It seems simple to me, vote no to the odious proposal no one is going to stay away and I get the impression folk will try to increase their support being it getting a season book for the first time in a while, increasing payments to the cc or 800 club and trying to get lapsed fans to attend. Vote yes and we could loose anywhere between 50 and 500 regular supporters along with their personal investments be that buying a programme, hospitality or bringing friends and family. The situation stinks but we need to stand together. I can't see the business logic in voting yes for a quick fix. Over to the board......
  7. Something just struck me today, cockwomble and Ronnie Regan are chief executives of their respective cartels, Longmuir as well therefore I would think they get some kind of performance related bonus or pay structure. At least this goes somewhere to understanding their stance. Not that I agree with their shennanigans. On the cynical front if the Spl and sfl struggle they will have an audit of accounts, just saying like.......... Anyone know what these guys get paid for their sterlinh service to the scottish game? Sorry wrong thread, its all becoming a bit of a cluster****....
  8. Well said. Have you a link to your blog mate?
  9. I read that a member of the Alloa board is on the sfl commitee. Would this be an opportunity for Thistle fans to male their thoughts heard and seen with chants and banners? Just wondering....
  10. The Scottish game is being pulled through the wringer by rAngers demise and toxic reincarnation. It's not hatred, its just realising that they are no good for the Scottish game in any sustainable way. Years of bigotry, boom and bust transfer policies which trickled down the league and now the sorry mess we find our game in. I don't hate them, I just think they are a blight. The argument seems to come from their point of view. They should sort themselves out and reapply when ready. Otherwise this episode will repeat its self within a season or so. Thistle don't need them, or I should say shouldn't rely on them and adjust accordingly. If we vote for the abomination I'm out. This is a Thistle forum ffs, so peoples love or liking of our team shouldn't be brought into question.
  11. With regards to Norman's naughty neighbour dilemma surely the neighbour should have his extension levelled, proper compensation paid and due to a breach of council planning rules no application for future development should be allowed. Not a punishment, just following the rules, imo.
  12. Saw plenty ony way to work at finnieston yesterday. Some even had matching blue poly-bags......
  13. Ian Cameron was sitting university exams on the morning of st Mirren's cup final win. Their chairman was waiting outside in his car and told him to get in because he was on the bench. King of Spain is a lawyer so must have done a bit of studying
  14. Here hear. Fans lost over this issue will cost the club thousands of pounds per head over the long run. A short term fix will not be of ant benefit compared with the loss of 100 fans over a say a five season period. We vote against Sevco I don't see anyone leaving. Simple economics. I think the board need to realise this, unless of course they are after a quick buck.
  15. He's back tracking already. On radio Scotland he was saying the social unrest comments were in a context of Sevco dieing. Still a lot of pish. Due to the jaundiced view of our game south of the border, its just struck me as strange that two of our football organisations have English chief executives. Another example of cash over sporting integrity?
  16. Getting there, but is it a definite no? Maybe suggests it won't happen this season. Maybe looking at getting the sfa to suspend Sevco for a year then look at properly thought out restructuring?
  17. David has had his health worries. If this is the case it could explain why he's been quiet since the ET article. I wish him all the best in getting better.
  18. Glittering prizes and endless compromises Shatter the illusion of integrity......
  19. They can't run one Spl league, therefore the creation of a second tier fills me with dread. Too late in the day to re-structure. Suspend sevco5088 for a year and let them apply next year.
  20. The thing is they haven't been punished. The ten point reduction is automatic as is the European disqualification and the sfa punishment was appealed. Anything that happens to them has been of their own making.
  21. Your big team didn't even give us a ball or a jersey for auction during stj, **** them. You can hardly compare the two. Personally I don't care what team did this, they should be suspended until they are in a position to apply for sfl 3.
  22. http://www.euafc.com/team/first-XI/first-team-sheet He's listed among the midfielders.
  23. I'm sure Motherwell announced a profit in the last figures they released.
  24. From daily record site, link on other thread. " SCOTTISH football chiefs last night shook hands on a verbal agreement that will see a Rangers newco play in the First Division next season. But the game’s rulers will face opposition from member clubs as they try to push the deal through. The talks involving SFA chief Stewart Regan, Neil Doncaster of the SPL and SFL top dog David Longmuir are also set to spark a major revamp of our game. Play-offs between the SPL and SFL would return and there would also be a redistribution of TV and sponsorship money. A joint statement from all three bodies last night stated: “Further consultation will take place in the near future, with the aim of reaching a positive outcome.” The weekend summit meeting had mainly focused on finding an avenue for Rangers to be allowed into the First Division. Gers face a vote on July 4 to see if their newco will be granted entry into the SPL but the bid looks doomed to failure. Longmuir will now urge his member clubs to allow Gers to drop down just one flight. But that won’t be straightforward as several SFL clubs will oppose the move. Falkirk chairman Martin Ritchie has already gone public with his objections and more clubs are expected to follow." Three bodies and not a clue about fans feelings amongst them.
