  1. The forecast this morning said more rain this evening. I'm now having doubts about traveling to Glasgow for this one.
  2. I seem to remember that the city centre bus crew contains Jags-minded ceilidh band members.
  3. With all due respect, but as my dear old maw used to say, yer arse in parsley.
  4. From bing to urban paradise -- the Beechgrove Garden.
  5. Well, you've told us what hasn't caused you to abandon, but you've said nothing about what might be the reasons. If it's all down to the financial climate, then things are going to get worse for every club, not just Thistle.
  6. I hope admin will lock this thread before the canal puns sink to greater depths.
  7. Remember Peter Lindau, what a Suede!
  8. Agreed. And with all due respect, M'Lady, I'd rather see Ami's smiling face than the coupon of your avatar....
  9. Next month will be the 4th anniversary of McCall's arrival at Firhill. Hasn't he been proclaiming a 3-5-year plan all along? Time to deliver next season, Bunter Boy.
  10. I'd be very surprised if Clyde left Broadwood. That would mean a 10,000-seater stadium lying empty, with no obvious use. At least Firhill is around 15% occupied every couple of weeks or so.
  11. That's so bad, it's good.
  12. A pretty fair overall assessment, but I think your scores a bit harsh on the keeper and defenders, who did their job pretty much perfectly.
  13. Never thought about that before. Good question!
  14. There were plenty of miss-kicks due to bobbling yesterday. I'm afraid that's what's in store between now and the end of the season. The state of the pitch isn't a valid excuse for some of the terrible passing though, either over-hit, or played behind a player so that he had to turn and run back to collect it.
  15. Defensively it was another excellent display. But that's the big problem: it was yet another defensive display at home against a team we should be able to beat. Even the substitutions were simply to replace like for like, with no attempt to try something different to get the winner. Positives: defence was excellent; but as they were over-manned, that's no surprise. Archie would have been my MotM. When he came on, Jamie Campbell again looked like a real handful. Think we have a right good prospect there. Boyle came onto an excellent game in the 2nd half. Felt sorry for Grehan, who won plenty in the air, and was faced with having to hold the ball up on his own while support took an eternity to arrive. He and Doolan together up front are no Bone and Coulston, that's for sure. Negatives: The pitch. About the worst I've ever seen. The atmosphere: surely the quietest for many years. The quality of the football on show was so poor that even the excellent QoS fans were numbed into silence in the 2nd half (anybody else find it funny that they were all singing the praises of Kenny Brannigan?). Erskine: another stinker. He can do much better, but at the moment he's off the boil. Our lack of shots on goal: got the usual sky-high effort (Flannigan) and then a pathetic past-the-post trundler (Rowson?), and that was it.
  16. Excellent photies. The sunshine was definitely the best aspect of the afternoon.
  17. Don't you think that constructive criticism would be more useful than simply destructive criticism? In other words, can you suggest something that you know would be better?
  18. Excellent photies. I was also going to highlight how image 7 shows exactly the state of the pitch that players are expected to play on. Shocking.
  19. At least it's an effort. They seem to have gone for creating a genteel atmosphere rather than capturing any big match excitement. Fair enough.
  20. I agree with 95% of what you say. Correct, there is very little loyalty. We gave him a job in the first place, then were going to dump him, then he improved, now he's going to dump us..... Fair enough..., so let's applaud him and dump him now!
  21. More on Boyle: In my opinion he should now be dropped from the team. He's not interested in playing for us, we have a natural left back in Archie, and between now and the end of the season is the perfect time to give some of the youngsters experience. I don't see why we should pay appearance and win bonuses to somebody who is now clearly only playing to find himself a better deal with one of our rival teams for next season.
  22. Yes, at the moment they seem to be doing "alright" in terms of crowds for a team with a dreaded, lego-kit out-of-town stadium. I wonder if it'll hold up if they fail to be challenging for promotion next season, though. If we beat them once or twice in the next couple of weeks and thereby end their hopes for this season, I expect a big decrease for their remaining games.
