Somehow (through an error of my own, no doubt), this ended up in the wrong place yesterday (edited to get rid of out-of-date stuff re yesterday's match):
Actually, the notion that if you're a Jag, then you're a Jag for life, doesn't seem to ring true. When I was a teenager there were tons of us from Drumchapel who used to follow Thistle everywhere; there would sometimes be 15-20 of us on the old Whiteinch bus before it even got out of the Drum. Nowadays, at best, I see one or two of those guys at matches once or twice a season. I know that many of those supporters from long ago just abandoned football for one reason or another, and they've probably not been to a match of any kind for 30 years. Although they might still call themselves Jags when pushed, unfortunately they're not supporters, and I doubt whether they'd bother too much if another big financial crisis came around.
