a f kincaid
A long shot I know, (longer than a Jackie Husband throw-in) but I'm looking for information about a friendly match away to Morton on 14 November 1966. Does anyone have access to the next home programme(s) ie, Falkirk 26 November 1966 and/or Hearts 3 December 1966? If so, could you PM me? Thanks. The Jukebox Rebel
^ Good find. Can anyone remember attending this game? It was a friendly arranged to assist Davie McParland's recovery. Evening kick off, it was 4-1 to Morton. The wee barrel aka Joe Harper scored 2 pens. Andy Roxburgh scored for Jags.
Tom Hosie
Can't help with the programmes but The Glasgow Herald reported a 4-1 loss for Thistle. https://news.google....tpage&hl=en Two penalties from Harper and goals from Borthwick and Caven. Andy Roxburgh for Thistle. You probably knew all that already. Edited to add: Beaten to it by TJR Edited August 20, 2015 by Tom Hosie
a f kincaid
Yes, but thanks anyway Tom. Stumbled across the game by accident and hoping to find out the teams and some sort of brief report. Just a chance there was a mention in a subsequent programme. The Sunnylaw Jag
As an aside I have been looking for reports for Scotland games in the 70's, is there a particular site or avenue I should look for?
The Jukebox Rebel
SJ, From the comfort of my swivel chair I would go: http://www.rsssf.com/tabless/scot-intres.html ^ hands-down thee best reference quality guide to Scotland's match data. http://www.londonhearts.com/scores/images/hnews/yearlist.html ^ Davy Allen's awesome collection of press reports, stitching the football pages from many different papers. https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=GGgVawPscysC&hl=en ^ A comprehensive collection of the Glasgow Herald. https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=2mus-XyGPC0C ^ A comprehensive collection of the Evening Times. Beyond that (if you wanted to dig deep for rare nuggets) you'd need to get yourself into the Mitchell to check over the Daily Records, Sunday Mails and Sunday Posts of the 1970s. It's cold in there, so take a jumper. And go to the toilet before you go, they're minging. I always find it's worthwhile to have a read at the build up during the week, there's always sure to be some gems of info and quotes that can add some depth, flavour and understanding to reports. The Sunnylaw Jag
Thank you TJR for that, however I just hope I don't get too obsessive with it as I can do with these things.

Jaggernaut
This seems like a good place to launch this appeal either for programmes or confirmation that they don't exist. Thistle's 1st Division-winning season of 1970-1971; I'm looking for any of these: Home: Berwick 6 Apr 71 Queens Park 19 Apr 71 Away: Stirling Albion 8 Aug 1970 Queen of the South 19 Aug 1970 Queens Park 15 Sep 1970 Clydebank 19 Sep 1970 Albion Rovers 14 Nov 1970 Arbroath 5 Dec 1970 Forfar Athletic 6 Feb 1971 Alloa Athletic 27 Mar 1971 Queen of the South 3 Apr 1971 Stranraer 14 Apr 1971
AlgarveJag
I'm looking for a programme from 26 November 1977 v Aberdeen at Firhill. From memory, 1-0 thanks to Dougie Somner. Anyone have one to sell?
Deco City Jag
I can confirm programmes were issued for the Stirling, Arbroath & Stranraer away games. As for the rest while not 100% sure I have had it on good authority and after extensive searching that no programmes were issued for the other games. I am more than happy to stand corrected if anybody out there has programmes from these other matches. PS if you do are you willing to part with them? a f kincaid
TJR, Davie McParland's recovery from what? Perhaps TJR has more info but the E times merely says he had been missing since 8 October due to illness and had had a month's complete rest. (He missed 8 games altogether.) Just noticed he didn't play in the next 2 after the friendly either.
east lothian jag
I can confirm your reply re the programmes, however!! there was a programme issued for the QoS away 3/4/71!
Weebaw1
I probably have the Aberdeen one from 1977, Algarve Jag. But it's in the loft if I have it. Pain in the ass to go up there. But let me know if nobody comes up with it and I shall post it to Portugal for you.
AlgarveJag
Weebaw1, that would be fantastic. No rush, I'll wait until your putting the Christmas decorations back up there in January Many thanks if you can help.
