Looks grim with Ross County going up and QOS going down.

Dundee is alright for a piss up, but the cost to get in, stewards, shite view etc spoil it. Cowden actually I felt was alright despite being a total dive. Hamilton, Livi, Morton, Falkirk, and the other Fife teams are absolutely grim and I have no intentions of going to those. Wouldn't dream of drinking in Airdrie, although I might drive through since its local and I've no idea what Dumbarton is like for a drink, although I wouldn't mind them coming up since its also nearby. Stenny is just meh all round.

Arbroath and Ayr would be alright, but I would like to play a new team with the repetitive nature of Scottish Football.

Dundee is good but I spent £80 last weekend so it the most expensive away day by far.

I like Hamilton cos you can get Equis ice cream before the game and "The Vaults" is alryt for a drink. Quite cheap day out really.

Potentially having 3 games in Fife is worrying as it is expensive because you need to go through Edinburgh. To Dunfermline amd Cowdenbeath it is £19.50 and to Kirkcaldy it is £23.60 return, I think cowdenbeath will be the one I miss. Dunfermline do great donuts and I really love the "Novar bar" in Kirkcaldy - a great pub lunch and free soup after the game if you want.

Airdrie actually don't mind - yeah the walk from the station and the place is a dive. But there stadium bar do a decent pint and I generally do not mind it. No veggie option tho when it comes to food! Dumbarton would be another cheap day so not too bad. Arboath would be good just for somewhere a wee bit different and you could buy train tickets in advance making it cheaper. I think I would prefer Arboath to come up out of them 3 with Raith going down.

I have yet to visit Ayr, because every time we have played them recently I always have something that comes up or it has been moved to mid week. Out of Ayr and Raith, I think I would rather Raith go down just for the one less trip to Fife.

Livi and Falkirk - the walk there from train station is a pain. Livi has no decent places for a drink either. Falkirk has a few nice pubs but still not that great an away day!

Morton is the worst away day for me. There stadium is a dump - Knees to your chin and sitting in filth. I generally never enjoy our days there even when we win. The train always takes ages after the game too.

Really feel we have lost our 2 best away trips though! Dumfries was a great day and I really will miss the hole in the wall and the chips! And when we eventually play in the same League as County again - it wont be the same cos there getting rid of their terracing! A wee bit sad really.

You may have noticed I judge an away trip on 3 things - the distance from the train station, the pubs and the food I can get after a few pints!

Next season when we win the league we can discuss the SPL away games . . .

Morton is the best away day by far but we always go to hospitality and its an absolute delight!

Meet in the Jimmy Watt at 11am cupla jars up to the ground for noon prematch dinner and then a free bar until around 7pm....the only drawback is the 90mins of fitba which breaks up the swally!

Not looking too good on the away day front. So far we've swapped the likes of the two Globes. the Hole in the 'Wa etc in Dumfries for Wee Jimmy's Bar in Cowdenbeath and another good away day in Dingwall for most likely the routine blandness of East End Pk. Hope Ayr stay up as Dumbarton & Airdrie are dire places to visit. Arbroath would be OK but those who only remember the place from our last games up there they'll be in for a disappointment..

Dumbarton is a cheap away trip but it's shite, really. There are very few pubs - one right outside Dumbarton East (which is appalling), the supporter's bar (which is all right) and there are two in the town centre, right next to each other, but they're in the opposite direction of the ground if you get off at Dumbarton Central. I'd like them to go up 'cause I have a few mates who support them, but for the trip itself, it doesn't look too good.

Normally Id want Airdire up, but I'm leaving this dump soon so feck 'em :D

Raith Rovers can't go down now can they? So for me it's a no brainer....MON THE AYR UTD!!!! Marko to piss all over Airdire (if they hold on to 4th), Shame that two of the best away days (3 if Ayr follow Queen of the South down) are gona be lost. Dunfermline and Cowdenbeath? Bleugh! Arbroath as a second prize to Ayr would be ok I guess, defo better than the other options.

I’ve not been away much this year but Queens, County and Ayr are really enjoyable days out. Despite decent pubs in Dunfermline, free soup in Kirkcaldy and a kind of living breathing inbred theme park with red puddings in Cowdenbeath going to Fife for football is rotten.

Ayr or Arbroath for me, Dumbarton and Stenny are as unspectacular as Falkirk or Morton.

Hibernian aren't out the woods yet. A wee Edinburgh trip would be sweet, although it would reduce our chances of first place.

Potentially only four trips to Fife, keep the faith ;)

Dumbarton has a bowling club across the road from the ground.

Stenny's social club is decent. Airdrie is dire, not tried the supporters bar there. My mate runs a pub in the town centre so would maybe go for that option. Arbroath can be alright, decent fish supper on way back anyway :)

I might consider this - I bloody hate Morton. I went on my Birthday one year (We won) and I think since then I have hated the place.

Away days at Dunfermline and kirkcaldy dont need to be expensive if you get the stagecoach buses from Buchanan bus station.

Aye but buses you can't drink on, train you can. And being pished on a bus makes me so :puke: - I learnt this on a bus back from Queens! Never again!

was in the staggs pub next to dumbarton east last year with the wifes family and had a great nite not a bad boozer the locals said the last owner was a tosser and wasn,t accomodating to fans or anyone but its got two young woman now as owners its also handy for the train home

The important Q : Does it do food? I like an away day where a good pub lunch is on offer! :)

I'm gonna miss the away trip to Dumfries next season (home cooked dinner, local for my wee niece) and probably won't venture to any away days. Too much hassle getting Saturdays off work, they could hardly refuse 'family' time for my Palmerston trips :hypocrite:

Well that's good news as the Stags Head was infamous for not letting Dumbarton fans in with colours on (guess what the manager was a hu n).

I take it that was after the friendly as that pub was dire back in the summer.

I really hope we don't have to make a trip there. It's cold enough in that exposed stand.in July.

Can't say I'm looking forward to any away games next season, Arbroath if they come up maybe, but the rest are dire. Dumbarton is just soul destroying, not great pubs and not far enough away to get a good drink traveling to the game. There's really nothing that could tempt you to go to the away games next year.

Well, Thistle steamrollering their way through the entire division would make away games worth it. Anybody else remember the absolutely brilliant (old) 2nd div. campaign 1970-71? That really was a case of Jags fans here, Jags fans there....

Aye?

That's the one I was meaning. I've never been in but I've only heard bad things about it. It was the owner and the workers who were cnuts according to my mates. Fair enough if it's changed hands, though.
