This Is What We Are Up Against Folks!

From former Mirror group sports journalist!!!

Its us that are the bigots.....dear oh dear!!

Let me introduce you to a woman, so wrapped up in her bigotry, so engulfed in her hatred of Rangers and so swathed in her bitterness that she does not give a hoot for the club she claims she supports, Partick Thistle.

Her name is Morag McHaffie and she is the chairwoman of the Jags Trust.

She has gone public with her demand that those who support Thistle should stop going to Firhill should Rangers be parachuted into the First Division.

I wonder what the ghost of all the great Rangers men who have contributed to Thistle’s history would make of that, were they still around. Has this McHaffie woman ever heard of Ibrox greats Davie Meiklejohn and Willie Thornton who were so successful when they managed the Jags?

The last few months has seen Thistle lose the income from rugby lodgers, plus the much needed money from their shirt sponsors who went bust.

Now Morag McHaffie wants to rob Partick Thistle of income from gate receipts. And sacrifice the Maryhill Magyars on the alter of her hatred.

What a wicked, warped wumman!

But that is the way it is in this small, dark, bitter and twisted wee country of Scotland. A nation where there are no penalties to be paid for hating Rangers.

Other than for that hatred, that vindictive twisted bigotry, to kill off Scottish football.

Rangers supporters have spoken about their desire to leave the Scottish Premier League and start again from the bottom. And that is what the SPL bigots and other short sighted bigots, such as Morag McHaffie, want.

I can't recommend strongly enough his wartime thriller The Kennedy Kill in which JFK's nasty Catholic dad and the first Catholic Lord Provost of Glasgow (do you see a theme emerging?) conspire to try to kill dear old Winston at the start of the war. I won't spoil it, but suffice to say the old boy is way too smart for them, helped in no small part by our Scottish journalist hero who then goes to America and becomes great friends with Ed Murrow who introduces him to a skinny kid singer called Frank Sinatra... You get the idea. Available as an ebook from Amazon where the faint masturbatory whiff of the author's excitement still comes through.

This guys is I believe quite well known to be mentally derang(er)ed. However supposedly official spokesmen like McCoist and Jardine are not much better.with their "we want to know their names" and "let's march on the SFA" demands. I assume you'll have seen Jardine's latest rant against the players who want to leave?

Yeah, but they are all the same. Neanderthals and thugs with their billy/bully boy attitude. Hope Morag McHaffie reports him to the cops for mentioning her personally, mind you she is lucky, if its someone he detests he usually prints their address and phone number for the neanderthals to note!!

Leggat is the sort of idiot that the anti sectarian unit should be looking at and if need be prosecuting, along with certain OF forums that foster bigotry and hatred. Rather than sending anti sectarian units up to Dingwall to monitor a Ross County v Thistle match or to Dumfries for an Ayr match

It's is truly unbelieveable that this rubbish has been committed to print.

The Herald Saturday 23 June:

Thistle fans consider a boycott of Firhill

PARTICK THISTLE fans could boycott home games if newco Rangers are given a berth in the first division next season.

Morag McHaffie, chairwoman of the Jags Trust, said that supporters would not be appeased by the cash benefits of the Ibrox club playing the league when weighed against the chances of them winning the title.

Ms McHaffie said: "Fans are looking for a punishment. If you break the rules then there have to be sanctions, and rules have to be equal for all. I do think boycotts are in the thoughts of some fans. It is very difficult to get a balance between following your team and having your principles.

"It is a sad state of affairs when fans are thinking about walking away from their club, but I can appreciate that sometimes is the only way they have of showing chairmen that they are not happy. David Beattie [the Thistle chairman], like all the chairmen, has a difficult job. They have to listen to their customers, the fans. They also have to meet the requirements of the banks and other commercial entities. But the voices of the fans need to be heard.

"Jackie McNamara, has shown great enthusiasm in trying to get us promoted and I think [having] Rangers in the league would compromise all the teams. All money is great for clubs across the SFL but we need a better distribution of it and I am sure that is what the chairmen of all the clubs are looking at. It is about commercial interests and income versus being able to watch good ----football and win promotion."

I should be outraged, but living in Glasgow Ive become inured to this form of insidious bile. As other replies have said outpourings of bigotry such as this should be dealt with by the Police. You have to really wonder at the sanity of individuals and groups who would portray the Jags Trust as a sectarian front organisation led by a latter day Madame Guillotine! If nothing else it hardens my desire to see the Bears removed from top flight football.

In previous posts I had suggested Newco in Div 1 with a 25 point penalty.

After what has been happening especially today I agree they should only be admitted to Div3 at best.

The SPL chairmen do not have a spine between them as they did not make the decision. It was their fans who

made it clear what they should do.

Therefore I hope the SFL chairmen are listening to their fans & vote en mass NO.

If the only way to SPL2 is blackmail forget it.
