MiskinBlue
Group of us from Wales are coming to watch Partick Thistle on Saturday can anyone suggest somewhere we can have a few pints before the game. Whats the best part of the ground to watch the game from ?
Mr Bunny
Not a great pre-game pint rabbit but I know that Woodside Inn, Star and Garter and Brass Monkey are quoted. Ground depends what you want. Decent seat and good view the Jackie Husband stand is the place. North Stand is where you are allowed to stand and show banners and generaly be a bit more raucus than the rest of the fans. The rest is silence or at least pretty empty. Expect the younger ones with us will definately want to head for the North Stand.
jags on tour
yeah come in the north stand behind the goals for a sing song and some banter. there is a pub in the main stand called the aitken suite but not alot of people go there, otherwise the star and garter is near , situated here, and the ground is just above it in the map https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&ie=UTF-8&q=star+and+garter+maryhill&fb=1&gl=uk&hq=star+and+garter&hnear=0x488845a996479e8d:0xcc2f2444295c5e31,Maryhill,+Glasgow+City&cid=0,0,15415139135213535850&ei=wqhJUZgjyYk41bGByAo&ved=0CKYBEPwSMAM . Hopefully super Sean Welsh will get back on the goal trail with you guys visiting! have a good one.

Expect the younger ones with us will definately want to head for the North Stand. If you are based in the city centre and you definitely want to try all 3 I'd recommend the Brass Monkey first as it's a good bit away from Firhill and the other 2 pubs. Alternatively you might want to do the Woodside and Star and Garter before the game and then head to the Brass Monkey (by taxi) after the game. Whatever you end up doing, you'll enjoy it. 3 good pubs.

cjptfc
Welcome mate. Are you coming here specifically to watch Thistle or are you on a stag do or something? Just curious. Hope you all have a great time.

Hope you all have a great time. I am guessing they are here for the Scotland v Wales game on Friday and then spending the weekend enjoying the culture and delights of Glasgow. Haha, of course! Putting two and two together would have been an idea before making my post!!
Mr Bunny
No under 16s with us, couple of father and sons but youngest is 24. Am looking forward to Saturday have heard you play some tidy football. We do - at least when we hit form and we have quite a few times this season, especially at home. Chances of a good game are good as there's a lot at stake for us and Livingstone play in a good open style too, so could be a decent game with two teams going at it (instead of one parking the bus). Was a choice between Partick or Rangers no competition see you all saturday. Good man. Enjoy your day! ps. Hope the 'no competition' would equally apply if it was a choice between Thistle and Celtic? We don't like them either.
MiskinBlue
Even more so if Celtic were home they been to us for a couple of friendlies, and are definately not liked they seem to think they are something special.
little_miss_jag
North Stand is pay at the gate so you don't need to buy a ticket at the booth or aitken suite before hand, gives you a wee bit longer in the pub! Would def avoid the aitken suite! As people have already said Woodside, S&G or Munns are all near the ground. If your staying in town then you could always take the subway to Kelvinbridge and go to Coopers which also has sky and some fans now go there for a pre-match pint. It's about a 15 minute walk to the ground. Anyways enjoy the game - the north stand has a great atmosphere and good banter and occasionally a topless man running around singing "Red and yellow Army"! Wouldn't get any of that at Firhill. We know we are special.
