allyo
Three days behind most on this forum, but now willing to believe we've done it! Just wondered, who do you think will lift the trophy? Paul Paton if he gets back in the team... But Paul Paton regardless? Or will it be captain on the day? Could be SOJ or Erskine? Or Archie? Doubt it. Will be an iconic picture whoever it is. (Hope I've not jinxed it)
chunky jag
Paton is club captain so it should be him.
Dick Dastardly
Paul Paton is the club captain even if not in the team
read'n'yell
I would normally say captain on the day should lift these things. But I don't fancy Erskine or Craig, so hopefully Paton lifts it. Will the trophy be at the Raith game? If so, then it really is unmissable and we would surely get all the fans who were at the Morton game back in. chunky jag
No it will be last home game of the season vs dunf im guessing, which is a heartbreaker as im in lanzarote!
jags on tour
I would expect the trophy to be given at home to Dunfy. I hope Paton and Erskine lift it together.
clarencegarter
Y not Archie? Captain at the start of the season and although he is now manager I would still see him as the club captain and Paton as vice captain. I think Archie woodnt want to lift it but Paton and Archie together I'd wanna see!
peagreenboy
Paton and Archie together I'd wanna see! Yes. 'cause Archie won't do it alone.
EKThistle
Archie on for Erskine in the 90th minute
Jaggy1967
Paul Paton is the only choice in front of Archie. What the feck was SOJ all about throwing his captains armband on the pitch for Erskine to have to pick up ? Sour grapes or what ? Whatched him acknowledge Erskine and the bench when he left the field but why do that ?

He came off in the CC final too and seemed fine there.

To hand the armband to Erskine is what I would have expected a team mate to do not toss it on the floor just outside the half way line. allyo
Like the POTS award, the whole team should have a hand on the trophy when its raised! I'd be very disappointed if a proper POTY was not chosen. Big season with lots of big players, they win the title, the trophy, the medals as a team. That's the major prize. POTY is a bonus for an outstanding individual contribution, of which there have been many. I'd vote for Erskine but Bannigan, Paton, Muirhead and Balatoni would all be worth a shout. And the rest of them would have walked it any other season. What a team!
H Wragg
I think Jackie McNamara should be invited to do the honours. He laid the foundations after all.
peagreenboy
I think Jackie McNamara should be invited to do the honours. He laid the foundations after all. According to Pat Nevin he won us the league before he left to take United into the top six ...
chunky jag
Yeh, we looked nailed on for the title, 8 points behind, having not won away from home for about 5-6 months! Pat Nevin is a clueless wee ****. Archie has won us the league, no doubt about it.

He's done things not seen at Firhill for a very long time - is he up for player of the year for the whole division?
chunky jag
Anyone from erskine lawless bannigan paton muirhead balatoni will do me. My own personal fave is bannigan, but erksine fair doos he is also deserving of the award
kni
Assuming we don't blow it, Archibald should lift the trophy. He should come on with a few minutes to go and get the ovation he deserves.
