distel
Can anyone explain to me why we play this tune before every home game? It really does my head in! Focus. Sylvia.
jaggy
It was played as the run-out tune in the 70's for a few years. No idea why it was brought back. I don't mind it

Stewarty
I like it as a build-up tune because it's quite obscure and therefore distinctive. Â Any suggestions for new tunes, folks?

ian_mac
Sylvia is a brilliant tune, and you are the first person I've ever spoke to who doesn't like it. Â It's synonymous with Firhill. It gets played every week because it is part of the tradition of the club. I remember the first time I set foot in Firhill as a 7 year old boy, this song was playing the first time I ever laid eyes on the stadium. Every time I hear it now, that's the vision I get in my head - myself and the old man walking up the steps to the city end terracing and being greeted with a panoramic view of the whole ground once we reached the top. It never leaves you. Â I would be gutted if we stopped playing it.
The Sunnylaw Jag
Sylvia is so much better than the one they played when I were a lad. Â

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQQ5sEOhbjQ that's the one I remember from when I started going. I think I might even have the single somewhere at home. I also remember 'the crunch' by the RAH band in the late 70's & early 80's

allyo
That tune means nothing to me but Firhill. I've never heard it in any other context and that's why I love it.
