  1. sublime? is that the same as mince? he was rubbish
  2. What about 3 seasons in the top league in the 90's? Did you forget about them?
  3. Possibly the worst thread ever?
  4. I think Dundee only played in that round because they were in still in the 1st division when the draw was made
  5. Grant Hanley grew up with Aaron Muirhead I believe, so I'm guessing they played together at some point
  6. Cue another round of John Baird rumours!
  7. Not trying to argue for him as i don't know much about him, i was just pointing out he made quite a few appearances this season
  8. Played 32 times according to this http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22544704
  9. He should have played, he had scored goals for fun that season including 1 or 2 in the home internationals just before the world cup, but McLeod decided Lou Macari was a better option when we were chasing goals!
  10. I stood behind the goal for both of Hansen's goals, some things are never forgotten
  11. Marinello was at Hibs then went to Arsenal as a big transfer when quite young. I think he was touted as the 'new' George Best. I seem to remember him at Fulham at one point as well. Hearts was when he was much older
  12. The ex-Scotland keeper? I'm sure i remember him playing in a Scottish Cup tie at Boghead. We might have lost, it was midweek & I'm sure Ian Wallace scored for Dumbarton
  13. Are you thinking of the game where Alan Hansen scored 2?
  14. are any of these answers valid to the OP? I think in most cases when we sign a player we hope for the best, there are very few I can think of as being of the 'oh no why are signing him?' variety. The only one that really springs to mind for me was Brannigan
  15. when I was wee (early-mid 70's) I never liked George Mackie or Danny Kellachan. They were rubbish & more so having had the likes of John Hansen & Alex Forsyth just a few years earlier I don't know how we ended up with that pair!! I also remember cringing when Tommy Rae's name was read out as playing. I never hated him but I thought he was rotten. I met him at the Ramsdens Cup Final & spoke to him for ages after it, what a nice guy, but will always be rubbish to me!! I think he was good in the 60's when he was first at Firhill, but I only saw him when he came back
  16. Martin Hardie at the time for his assault on Andy Dowie. Having said that if Whyte & Britton had signed him when they had the chance that incident might never have happened & he might have saved their jobs
  17. when I was wee (early-mid 70's) it was Johhny Gibson, Denis McQuade, Bobby Lawrie, Joe Craig, Dougie Somner, Ronnie Glavin, Jackie Campbell & the one & only Alan Rough. Rough was & always will be my Thistle hero :worship: :worship: (I know some of them were quite good. but......)
  18. possibly now, but that wasn't the case 2 weeks ago. I'm pretty certain if Sevco & the Pars were in a battle to win the 2nd Division they could end up with a number of live tv games
  19. I had thought that might be something they would see as a way to make more money. I also thought they would be quite happy with extra income from play off matches this season. BUT when i saw the reaction of their players when Lawless equalised i thought my ideas were just mad
  20. ...or John Baird & Pat Clark
  21. The 3rd strip. Was that not last seasons second strip?
