  1. Seems we were unlucky to lose on Saturday. When did we last win a game we deserved to lose ?Just curious
  2. You're missing the point. The number of attempted passes that never found a Thistle player was ridiculous. It wasn't Archie /Scott on the pitch tonight.Blame the manager for tactics /team formation if you want but poor technique is down to the players
  3. The manager's to blame because we have players who can't find a man with a pass ? Don't think so!
  4. I was really disappointed at last nights result but the reaction by some people is bordering on hysterical .I've seen posts slaughtering just about every player and the manager yet all of these player have been lauded at other times .So when they play badly it's the managers fault ? Maybe they're not good enough but I think they just need to be more consistent. So how do they achieve that ?
  5. Being in Cyprus I can only keep up to date via the Internet etc but looking at the Daily Record site not one f&@king word about the jags and the demolition of Hamilton .I despair.
  6. If any player signs a pre-contract they should not play out the season for us.You ever work with someone leaving for a better job? They go demob happy and footballers in particular try and avoid injury.not saying it's deliberate but just the way the brain's wired.
  7. According to P&B it's a "lifestyle issue" and if so I would like to think the club will try and help him
  8. I went to my first game at Firhill in 1952 and I can honestly say that with exception of the season after we won the league cup I have never had higher expectations than I have over this team. And that is the problem, maybe we should be more realistic given our resources.
  9. Just back from the taverna In Anavargos in Cyprus and 2 litres of wine never tasted better.Oh but it's only 15 degrees here, bugger.
  10. We need a Gary Harkins type in midfield
  11. Sorry to hear about his death ,he certainly was an institution in Scotland. He was a member of Killermont Golf Club and I remember the time he was asked by the secretary to park his car in the "back" car park as his estate car had the STV logo on the side. Changed days indeed However I have to say Arthur was a supreme example of " learning on the job.".He was dreadful ,as was the whole show ,for the first few years. Typical "haun' knitted" fare from STV
  12. Was that Andy "it's ok to cheat " Walker commenting on the game for Sky ? He made Aberdeen sound like Barcelona. That is a poor Aberdeen team and they were there for the taking
  13. lose = " get beat " loose = "slack " Sorry ,I must get out more
  14. DU forum confirm that Cifti elbowed Oman without penalty
  15. Glad to hear that. There are some promising youngsters up here and they could do with encouragement.
  16. You would think that A & S have the experience to sort out our defence so is the problem (a) They are unable to demonstrate / articulate defensive duties or ( The players panic and don't have confidence to stick to the game plan. I suspect it's (
  17. Well if we're going to replace Archie we certainly don't want Louis van Gaal. He loses 2 goal leads so he must be an even bigger buffoon.
  18. Don't think Stevenson is a good fit for this team.Think there might be an attitude problem.Have we ever won a televised game ?Even though we were all over them in the first half we hardly troubled their keeper. The football we played last season was more exciting and worth watching.
  19. Would have thought Celtic would be a good fit although his experience and stature would be an asset in our dressing room
  20. Why in God's name would an Independent Scotland want to keep the queen ????
  21. Already retired 6 years ago on a drawdown pension so if pot doesn't continue to cover my drawdown I'll either have to reduce my income or reduce the pot sooner than intended. Listen , I'm not saying that independence won't or can't work but please be honest. It will be a long hard road (another poster in favour suggest5/20 years ) but you never hear Salmond or anyone else say it will be a struggle .It's the promised land. Sorry to say there isn't one politician I would trust .
  22. I feel for you my friend .I have a pal who suffers from severe depression and there is nothing I can say or do to help her apart from listen when she wants to talk.
  23. The reality is that a Yes vote will merely herald an 18month period of uncertainty as the negotiations /bargaining begin.Markets will not "bounce " back until all financial matters are resolved .
  24. For what it's worth I had a meeting with my Financial Advisor last Monday to review my pension plan.I was given the value of my pot and advised that it was now worth £2000 less than it was a fortnight ago all due to the possibility of a yes vote .It's a sad fact of life that the financial markets are no respecter of dreams and hopes
