I'd agree with spider jag on NOFX. Two or three good albums, and spawned too many shit imitations.
I quite like Green Day and the Offspring. Green Days stuff all sounds the same, but its a sound I quite like. As for the Offspring, can't really pass judgement on their recent stuff but I really like Ixnay and Smash. They definitely have a sense of humour.
Rancid are miles better than all of them though.
Regardless of what happened at the game, some of the posts in this thread make me embarrassed to be a Jags fan.
Keep it up and no doubt this forum'll go the way of the previous two. We certainly wouldnt miss out on much intelligent debate...
I feel sorry for the backroom staff and the fans---losing your job or the club you love must be horrible. I will admit to a little schadenfreude at seeing the muppets who were lording it over the rest of us realising what has really been going on though. But I'd never want them out of business completely.
However, I have little sympathy for the players or the coaching team. Everyone in Scottish Fitba' knew that Dundee were spending cash they didn't have. Maybe its just me---but if another company phoned me up and said "will you take 3 times your wages to come and do the same job you do already for us instead" I would definitely be wondering what the catch was.
Scotland team been announced for Tuesday: McGregor, Gilks, Alexander, Gordon, Marshall, Langfield, Howard, Combe, Bell, Esson, Samson
Apologies to whichever Twitter-Jag I stole that from...
So its alright for people to piss in closes, because the folks who live there should expect it?
I don't hold much truck with the rest of what he says---regarding national identity and so on---but there are some aspects of the behaviour of Scotland fans that *should* be addressed...
Having been reminded just how awesome the Eels are at their gig on Tuesday I've been listening to pretty much nothing else this week. Although the new Mogwai live album has been getting a spin too.
Me neither, but the hilarilty is tempered slightly by the fact that they're still absolutely miles ahead of the rest of us. Celtic are absolutely gash (so are Rangers for that matter) but that just makes the rest of Scottish fitba' seem even diddier in comparison.
So whilst I will be taking every opportunity to mock the green noses at work today I do have to say that I find the whole thing a sad indictment of the state of the game in Scotland.
Methinks you're all missing the point:
99% of all politicians are greedy, lying scum regardless of what colour tie they're wearing.
Lets face it, Joe Average gets shafted regardless of who we vote for. For me, thats the most sickening thing about the whole sorry enterprise.
A whole bunch of stupid, greedy, rich ********* have shafted the rest of us. The Labour Party let them do it, but lets not pretend that if the Tories had been in charge things would have been any different. They'd probably have let them do it even quicker.
Arguing about whether or not Cameron is better than Brown is a bit like debating whether you'd rather drown or burn. Anyone who thinks either of them is up to much needs their heads examined.
The Dogs is really nice. They've opened up an Italian one called Amore Dogs---if you're booking make sure you get the right one!
Best food I've had in Edinburgh in a while is at Maison Bleu on Victoria St. French/African vibe going on, very tasty and not too expensive. Decent size portions too.
If all you want is top nosh and aren't fussed about the surroundings then the Kebab Mahal on Nicolson Square is absolutely phenomenal for curry. It looks like an Indian version of a greasy spoon and the service is a bit hit and miss, but the food is great
He's got a pretty good chance of winning the US Open---its Murray's best surface, Nadal isn't as strong on the hard courts, Federer is out of sorts and Del Potro is injured.
I have to say I'm underwhelmed by the thought of Sunday's game---a pretty but utterly toothless team against a cynical but effective team full of players I don't really like. Great.
Ignoring all the stuff about England for a second, personally I find the "oh God, do you see what the English are doing NOW?????" types just as annoying. Scots whining about the English going on about 66 is just as annoying as the English going on about 66. We'd be just as insufferable if we'd won it (hell, we still mention 67 every time we can).
I quite like Criminal Minds but lets face it, its not exactly "great". Enjoyable fluff? Yes. Classic TV? No.
In terms of other watchable fluff I'm really getting into Burn Notice at the moment. Thursday nights on one of the Five channels.
I've been with Virgin Media for about two years and never had any problems with them. The broadband is fast and I have never had a service outage.
One other thing to consider is that if you get an all-in-one package you can get a really good deal. I got a really good mobile phone contract as part of my TV/broadband/internet package. I guess you can get something similar from o2 and Orange though.
I'm confused. SNP supporters say that Scotland should be ruled by Scots, but then complain that Scots are too stupid to adequately decide who should rule them?
