  1. I'm in for £25 - any player, don't mind. DM me the details of where to send £ please. Ta!
  2. Not actually much of a gambler. Missed the first few correct results. Then the way results have come I haven't had any more than a double on the one bet. Belgium's 3rd goal cost me about £120! Still almost £100 up for the tourney which isn't bad for the odd £2 or £3 bet here and there! Obviously nothing can compare to the priceless prize of Doolan's boots though!!!
  3. No 2pm kick off today BB. With it being the last game in the group, matches played at same time. Only Group A today so 8pm ko.
  4. I had a poor day yesterday. Normal service will resume tonight... (Not really, my luck has run out, lol!)
  5. Wish I was a betting man... would've been quids in up until now! It's all going to go pear shaped for me sooner rather than later...
  6. Wasn't involved in any of the comps during season but would like to take part if that's ok?
  7. Great win and a massive 3 points. Wasn't there so can't comment on individual performances but to come back from 1 down to winning 2-1 is fantastic. Not surprised to hear we were a bit out of sorts first half at the back considering we had to change personnel so close to kick off with no direct replacements really available, but to deal with it so well and come out on top is great. Credit to the team and management for coming out in the 2nd half and turning things around. Also sounds like the subs we made positively influenced our performance, which hasn't always been the case, so well done Archie. A win v Killie and we're safe imo, however, the win today means even if we lose, we still have some space between us and them. Takes the pressure off a bit. Unlikely, but not impossible, for us to win 2 or 3 of our games left before split and finish top 6. What an achievement that would be.

    Aberdeen

I was very disappointed we didn't manage to take something from the game last night. Yes, we were playing one of the clubs near the top of the league but we had our chances and ultimately lost due to slack defending from two crosses. First half was pretty even, both teams had chances and although Aberdeen looked a tad more threatening than us, we held our own well. 2nd half we upped our pressing game to great effect, Lawless scored with a great strike, then Aberdeen increased their intensity. Although we kept playing and had more chances, we never really looked like matching them after they were in front. I didn't think Pogba was great last night. Yes, he had a couple of good passes and link ups but far too often he gave the ball away or failed to win it in the first place. He's in the team to add a bit of height and physical presence to the attack but I felt he lost out on far too many headers, a lot of the headers he did win went straight to Aberdeen and when he did manage to bring the ball down, he'd too often lost possession by his 2nd or 3rd touch. Another problem we have is when he comes close to the halfway line, wins the ball and then plays it forward onto one of the wings, he's too slow at getting into the box. When in the box, he stands behind the defender marking him instead of trying to get infront of his marker where he'd be in a better position to receive the ball. His lack of pace was clear to see when he failed to get onto a great pass through from Fraser in the 1st half (looked that way from near the city end anyway) and the only other chance he really had was the header which was straight at the keeper. He's scored 1 goal in 20 appearances and that was a tap in on the line. Not a striker for me. We also struggled with Christie at RB. He played far too narrow and we relied on Amoo getting back to cover for him a lot. Perhaps he just needs more time in that position as he's not had a lot of experience there but the number of times Aberdeen had a man unmarked out on that side was poor. Our centre backs also need to work on their distribution. Both Seabourne and Lindsay are poor when it comes to playing out from the back. If we don't have the likes of Bannigan or Welsh dropping back into the middle to receive the ball to feet they punt the ball fairly aimlessly up the park and it makes it difficult for us. I won't have a go at Doolan for his miss. You can see in the highlights when the ball breaks to him he initially tries to take a touch but it's just out of reach. By the time he runs onto the ball the keeper's out and Dools misses the target as he tries to play it past him. Onto the positives... there are none. Na, just kidding! Amoo had his best game in a Jags shirt. His confidence in taking players on now is great and he's really improving our attacking options. Well deserved MOTM performance last night. Good to see Gary Fraser back and I thought he had a decent game. Won't be match fit for a few games yet but if we can get him playing 90 minutes and playing to near the best of his ability he'll be a big part of our team. Great strike from Stevie Lawless who is always on the go. His tracking back last night to help Booth deal with Hayes was great too. Always puts in a great shift and I hope we can hold onto him for next season. Welsh looked better than the last time I saw him away to Dundee Utd in the cup and Osman had a decent enough game. Some of our pressing, passing and movement was terrific last night and if we can keep up that level of performance we'll win more games than we'll lose between now and the end of the season.
  9. I love comments like this on a forum... If topics are only allowed to continue using factual information we'd be aswell scrapping the whole forum! Clearly some posters on here know each other and have gripes which continue, but people have the right to air their grievances if, as in this instance, they believe the club could've done better. As it is a forum, you are obviously more than welcome to agree with and defend the club but to suggest the topic be closed because you've had enough of your tete-a-tete is a bit selfish. LET THE PEOPLE MOAN! Admin, I'm now finished discussing this subject, please lock the topic with immediate effect.
  10. If the club had been trying to get a pitch inspection all day, why not just tell people when they ask? They could have even said we've requested a precautionary pitch inspection and are awaiting a response from the spfl. To say no inspection planned when they were trying to get one may not be an out and out lie but they could've easily given the fans who asked a bit more info. It isn't unreasonable for people wanting to know so they can plan their day/night accordingly.
  11. It's crazy! The problem I normally have is I choose a seat, click through to the next screen and it then defaults to a seat in the top corner of the section, rather than keeping the one I chose. What's the point in a seat selector that doesn't work properly? I've phoned the club in the past who've resolved it seemingly with the click of a button. Has happened several times though. Another problem I've had is going on to book a seat the Thursday before a game and the JHS looks sold out as they've already printed tickets for the game. This problem tonight is a new one for me though. It's madness that the club are desperate for people to part with cash but have poor software in place which makes it difficult to do so. I was all set to buy the half season ticket tonight. The chances are I won't make every game between now and the end of the season so the club will be losing out overall by me being unable to complete the purchase and now paying at the gate instead. I wonder how many people it's also happened to. Or even if someone's went to book tickets for a game, weren't able to and then have missed the game for some other reason anyway. It must be costing the club at times. No doubt the club are paying someone for the software and use of it. Would it be much more expensive (if any more expensive) to pay a 3rd party ticket company to provide ticket site or to use software that works on a wider scale (to include all popular browsers as well as on android and iOS devices)? We need fans, we need money, but we come across as amateurish too often in the way we do things.
  12. Was trying to go through the ticket site to make a purchase but keep getting a 'Seat Selection Tool Problem' error message. Can't continue past this page without choosing a seat. I've got a newish laptop running Windows 10. Tried it on up to date versions of IE, Mozilla and Chrome with no luck. Anyone any ideas?
  13. What a game and what a performance. Loved every minute of it. Thought we were terrific throughout the team today (except perhaps Scully who I think could've done better with both goals). Was goingtto list my standouts but I genuinely dont think I could leave anyone out. Cant remember the last time I saw so mamy of the time have such good performances in the same match. Lindsay and Seabourne struggled with Magennis at times but he didnt get many opportunities which is credit to them. Great tempo to our play for near enough the whole 90 minutes. Our passing and movement was so good Killie couldn't get near us. We looked a threat every time we came forward. We were very composed on the ball, made great runs, great decisions and worked hard when we had to defend. Doolan is an absolute star. Cant believe he tried to square for Lawless rather than go for the hat-trick though! He's our best striker and should be the first name on the team sheet every week. His touch, work rate and finishing were magnificent today. It would be a big ask to win another 2 games on the bounce so id take 4 points from the next 2 games and I reckon we'll be in a great position after that! Enjoy the rest of your weekend Jags fans!
  14. Cheers Lindau, Killie and a few pints paid for indeed! The question is, should I just stick the winnings on Thistle to win?!
  15. Cheers for the tip! £40 win @ 15/8
  16. Great 3 points for us on Saturday, despite us not being great. Inverness looked as though they were going to tear us apart in the first 10-15 minutes. Glad they stopped playing after their first goal as their passing and movement up to that point was excellent and they were just too much for us. After that, I think we done enough without being great. Wasn't a great standard from either team for most of the game but I'm very pleased that we kept working and managed to dig out that result. The late winner making it even sweeter! A draw would've probably been a fair result and I wouldn't have been too displeased with that. About time we had a wee bit of luck though!
  17. Strange that he was pushing players away, but perhaps this was just down to the goal being a fluke. Just watched the BBC interview and thought he came across really well. Obviously disappointed not to be playing more but he seems in a positive enough mood and making the right noises about wanting to impress the manager and get more game time. The main reason I won't be worrying about his attitude is that Archie has shown before if a player's attitude or behaviour doesn't fit in with the environment and atmosphere he wants to create in the dressing room and amongst the players, they won't be staying. If any player was to develop a bad attitude or is doing anything which may negatively impact the team's vibe, I don't think Archie would have any hesitation in leaving them out the squad
  18. I completely agree that we have some less talented players than we have had recently and that has a massive impact on how we perform. We can't expect to be as good as we have been in recent seasons when there has been cuts to budget and we've lost some of our best players. That's exactly the reason we need to change the way we're playing. We should stop striving to play exactly the same way we did when we were winning the 1st division and surviving in the Premiership with those better players. If you don't have the personnel to be able to play that formation and style, find a formation that works for the players you do have. We can all speculate and suggest how we think the team would perform best but it's obviously up to Archie to get the best from the players he has. So far, he's done nothing to suggest he has any idea how to change things.
  19. Completely agree with the sentiment, but I'd go for different personnel. I'd keep Lindsay in if Seabourne is out, otherwise Frans and Seabourne and I'd like to see Doolan playing infront of Pogba. Although he isn't fast, I think Pogba holding the ball up and playing in Dools or flicking long balls on to him may work. Definitely think 4411 is worth a go though. Gals, Dumbuya, Frans, Seabo(Lindsay), Booth, Lawless, Banzo, Osman, Amoo, Pogba, Dools. ETA I should say that I don't want us resorting to the long ball game but having a bit of variety and the opportunity for Doolan to get in behind from the odd flick on gives us a different dimension to constantly swinging balls in from the wings which are ineffective. I really think we should be looking to improve our movement and play through the middle more.
  20. The main point I was making though was even if it hadn't been an injury, any change would've been like for like. However, I didn't say leave a back 3. He could've tried something. Why not put Osman back into defence and put an attacking minded or forward player on. We were clearly not getting anything from the game, why not use the remaining time to try a dufferent tactic in a competitive game, knowing that if it doesn't work, nothing was really lost? Even if it was the right sub, why didn't we make big changes before that point? Perhaps damage limitation should be the plan for the rest of the season.
  21. And Archie could've easily brought Doolan on or made some sort of change to try something different. He chose not to, just as his 2 previous subs resulted in players being moved into positions which resulted in us playing the same formation. His lack of willingness to tey anything different is ridiculous. Starting to lose the enjoyment of going to watch the football. Frustrated with the lack of imagination and lack of fight. Not only is it rubbish, we pay for the pleasure of torturing ourselves with it week in / week out.
  22. We are beyond shite sometimes and today was one of those occasions. We had some fairly positive play in the first half with some joy down the wings but every cross was cleared easily. Won a few corners and only had a half chance from 1. Despite it clearly not working we tried it again and again and again. 2nd half we were worse. It really annoys me that we never try anything different. We keep the same formation, same shape and same tactics throughout every game regardless of how it's going. I fully appreciate we don't have the money to get better players but not tryi bf something different is inexcusable from the manager. Too many players also chucked it too easily today. We dither on the ball instead of playing quickly and with urgency. Too iften we chose the easy ball back instead of trying to play forward with pace. We should be running at people and playing quick passes when the opportunity presents but we never do. And Scully, I know he's not got much experience at this level but he should've done better at the first goal by palming the ball behind for a corner (that said, rest of defence should've been sharper to the rebound and infront of their goapscorer), and the red card was stupidity. We're 3-0 down, no chance of getting anything from the game and he brings their guy down. 100% red and now we're short on keepers. 0-0 or a goal up and i'd have no argument, but 3-0 down I think it's obvious you let the guy go if he's beat you. I'm not in the Archie out brigade but neither would I defend him at the present time. We've had 2 good wins recently but last week and this week show we have some major issues and it doesn't look to me like we're being very imaginative in trying to address those issues.
  23. Thought that was a great performance from almost everyone today. Welsh, Stevo, Banzo, Miller all outstanding and the rest weren't far behind. One of Doolan's best ever performances for me. Absolutely brilliant. First 30-35 minutes we absolutely bossed it and would've been 2 up just before they equalised if it hadn't been for that lucky/wonder save (although Cerny had his own prior to that to balance it out). In the build up to their goal we made a good foul in the middle of the park but then we switched off. If the ball wasn't rolling and their guy wasn't offside then that's a cracking bit of play and goal from them, really poor from our point of view. Even more disappointing was the way we fell out the game after it too. Then the red card. Not sure if Lindsay felt he had it under control but then the ball got stuck under his foot or whether he thought he'd be able to play his way out of trouble. Regardless, the ball should've been in the stand before the lad had the chance to get infront of him. Not the first defender to get caught out and won't be the last. I'm sure he'll learn from it and move on. Even though we were down to 10 we still competed well and deserved to take the lead. Wasn't surprised when they equalised. Overall plenty of positives to take from today and I thought it was a great game of football. Even enjoyed the panto style booing of Higgy after his arm/elbow in the face then trying to wind us up! Our concern now is the lack of depth in our squad. With injuries and suspensions already playing a part and with little impact players on the bench or experienced cover for most positions I think we could really struggle if we have 2 or 3 of our best players out. Need a few in before the window shuts.
  24. I said the exact same thing to my mate at the game yesterday. We're lucky we've still got Dools after the amount of times he's been ditched for lesser / unknown players. I reckon if that were me I'd have walked long ago. He must've been going into this week thinking he's starting v Celtic. Comes to Sunday and he's on the bench so we can play Stevo up front (which doesn't work for me) and then doesn't even come on as a sub. Pogba did do well when he came on, totally different presence with his strength. From early on though I felt we should've taken off Wilson, moved Stevo to play on the left where Wilson was and had Doolan up front. Massive respect for Dools in that he always gives 100% when inevitably we call on him to come back into the team after his latest replacement needs dropped.
