  1. The reason given for the £25 kids ticket last year was to cover the cost of a home Celtic game as this was being 'misused'. There is now no Celtic seat in the JHS but you still need to pay the £25. If the reason for paying in the first place is removed, then why pay? Comes down to personal choice, some will pay, some won't. Again the club should have thought of all the questions raised above or at least had a discussion with the fans reps. Anytime we make an announcement there seems to be as many negatives as positives regardless of the intention.
  2. It's a solution, dunno if it's the solution. Maybe you are someone the club should speak to when they come up with changes. Playing the devils advocate (is his code for sh1t stirring?) why should someone who invests 2 games into the club get first choice over a season ticket holder? One of the advantages of having a ST is that you get first choice before a general sale. I think the club has a few things to answer, one being the allocation of tickets (how and when) and another being the free for all policy that currently exists. For what it is worth from people I have spoken to and some posts I have seen on here, there are fans giving up their season tickets on the back of this. So the sooner we know the detail the better.
  3. We had a discussion about this at work today and LSR has a valid point. This is what happens when things are done without consultation with a fans group (do we still have such a thing?) So there are 10 of us that go to the games, 6 of whom are kids. We all sit together, all have season tickets. So we need to move for the Celtic / Rangers / whatever game the club deems they can make more money from (being flippant here) and we are fine with it. We want to go to the north stand rather than the main stand as, well, we have been in the main stand before and frankly it's a coup. There can be no public sale of tickets before all season ticket holders have had their allocation, otherwise how do they know how many tickets they can safely sell for the stand? So what happens if we go to our allocated seat and someone is there already. Do we accept it and find another seat thus moving the problem on or do we get a steward to enforce the allocation. Additionally as there are kids, we would like people to sit down in front of us so that they can see the game. That's not the way it works in the north stand I hear you say, but this is not a normal game or I would be in my seat in the JHS. I am being deliberately awkward here to make a point. The point being that the club need to confirm at some point whether the free for all standing rules apply or ticketing will be enforced. If ticketing is enforced, the pay at the gate fans will potentially be displaced for this game, maybe to another part of the NS or indeed to the main stand. The club need a selection of awkward gits to talk to, a destructive test if you like, in order to iron out the obvious issues that come with a unilateral decision.
  4. Agree the ref had a shocker, but his assistant did nothing to help him. Can't give a penalty and yellow card, he denied a clear goal scoring opportunity so needs to be red.
  5. I watched the scotland v Wales rugby match at the weekend where beer and glass bottles of alcoholic ginger were being consumed. How is it that if I drink at football it is a crime but at rugby it is encouraged. I was a wean when that old firm game took place, so why am I being tarred with that brush. Anyway, was the problem not that fans took in a cargo rather than bought a beer at the game?
  6. Firstly perspective - Celtic are miles ahead of us in every area of the park and it showed. However... That does not mean we should give them an easy ride and not match them in fight and desire. They didn't really need to work hard for their goals. Enough about them. What can be said about Conrad? Absolute gash. At fault for how many goals? What has happened to Banzo? Now goes sideways and back, runs all over the pitch but, I assume due to too many cards, plays with less aggression. In my opinion he has been honkin for a while. Booth didn't look great, but suppose he needs a few games to settle. Is Lyle better than Dools? Expected nothing from the game tonight and got exactly that. Too many players looking out of form and we need to sharpen up soon as a few more performances like that and we are in the sh1t.
  7. Well the evening after the night before..... Everything about last night annoyed me. Once St Mirren scored early the script was written. They would sit in, waste time and try on occasion to hit us on the break and they did it well. We huffed and puffed, created a few half chances but they packed the centre of the defence and we could not get through. The problem is we did not have anyone who could make a killer pass, beat a player to get a shot away or indeed do something different. Annoyed, upset, depressed? Nah, seen this movie far to many times watching the Jags. We are at our level, competing in the lower half of the league. We don't have that 1 player that some teams around us have who is a game changer. Higgy once was that player, Lawless can be that player but not often enough. We need a different option up front. Dools is either excellent or cack, Never lacking effort though. Are we in the relegation mix? Not yet. But a few poor results against the teams around us will soon change that. Another roller coaster end to the season I think.
  8. Not picking here LSR, all change suggests a clear out. This might be by players not extending or us selling. Either way all change does not sound good. To consolidate in the league you need some continuity. I would really fear for our premiership survival if we needed to change big numbers.
  9. Gonny chuck it you lot. Can't really afford to lose SOD with not having Jordan available at the minute. I'd hate it if he went to Dundee Utd.
  10. Chris Jack reporting (that would aledge he is a reporter) on twitter that the pitch still has covers on. Any chance of it being in danger of a call off?
  11. Correct decision, it does not need to be intentional for it to be a free kick. I thought he was going to caution him for it. Collum had a shocker but It is not unique though, the standard is poor all over. Did anyone catch Craig Thompson in the Hearts v The Rangers game? The refs seem to believe it is all about them.
  12. Bit difficult to play a right back at left back, but we manage that! We have played 1 up front who is not a recognised striker. Play Nathan up there next to Dools then. Maybe just desperate for us to change formation rather than just personnel.
  13. A bit painful watching Thistle at the minute. Some poor misses from us and some great save from Gallacher but all in all a flat game. I can only assume that Higgy and Fraser are not deemed fit to play from the start yet. I know loyalty in football is a big thing, but we need to go with our best available 11 every week. Don’t think we are that good that we can have these 2 sitting on the bench. Bannigan is a player who plays on the edge. His booking every other game and several sending offs a season seem to be what you get with him. Take that edge away and he is no better than average. Are bookings a price we need to pay for him to be more effective? Unpopular as this may seem, I think if Stevenson had put in the same shift as Doolan today he would be getting slaughtered. Ok there is never a lack of effort from him, but when was the last time he had a meaningful shot on goal? Maybe its the system we are playing and the service to him is honking, but something is not right. The defence looks as solid as it has done for years, the midfield looks strong(ish) with options in there but up front, ooft. Maybe we need to go 2 up top to try to hold the ball up better and give additional options. Doolan and AN Other – Stevenson, Higgy, Lawless, Elliott?????
  14. First half best forgotten. Second half better although the conditions did not make for a silky game. I assume Fox has fallen out with SOD as despite being the only player in the entire right of the field he refused to play the ball to him. Then at one point played a pass to Osman putting us under all sorts of pressure. Centre pair looked good. Welsh looks as if he needs more game time to get back up to speed, I hope he is not out again after coming off at half time. Fraser looked good when he came on, Osman solid and a usual shift from Elliott tries hard and got a goal, can we ask for more from someone who just fills gaps in the team when someone is out? Stevenson looks as if he has shifted a bit of timber. Might be controversial here, but we give our strikers absolutely hee haw service. When we play Ryan we punt the ball up to him, he chased several of his own knock ons today. Nothing to feet for him to hold up. I don't think he is a lone striker, but Archie does. So whatever he thinks his strengths are, we need to start playing to them. 3 points on the road, we would not have won that game last season and we held on for a clean sheet. Happy days.
  15. Home match, like to avoid Dundee Utd. Other than that, much of a muchness.
  16. Out of interest Will, given our injuries, who would you play rather than Craigan? Welsh must be due back? I heard he was 6 weeks away in March....
  17. Thought Craigan was not too bad at all, full of running and effort and his performance far outweighed anything that Stevenson offered. Complete passenger. I know this may be revolutionary, but I have an idea of how we can improve. There is no doubt we are ok until the final third, so my idea is, I know it will never catch on, but here goes.....SHOOT FFS. Someone needs to take responsibility and put the sanny right through the ball. Pass pass pass pass pass, out wide, pass pass, backwards, repeat. Doolan missed a chance very early doors, apart from that the service was not great. Big Dan looks good and Conrad looks better for him being there. Carroll looks like he is becoming a player. Nice home draw please.
  18. Aye magic, disnae matter that we're sh1te cause there's somebody sh1ter. Teams of the past do not matter, this current team is poor, very poor and we have a management team who look lost at best. We were poor against ICT, the just in thread confirms that. ICT were just worse. If any team in that league puts us under pressure we crumble. St Mirren were rank, but brought on a the son of Yardley and our defence bottled it. Bullied all over the place.
  19. Fox - poor Muirhead - poor does not cover it. What was the free kick just at the edge of the box deep in the second half all about. Just barged into the back of the striker. Calamity of a defender. Balatoni - I am amazed he had escaped the same stick that Muirhead or Gabby have had. Slow, not great in the air and distribution cack. Ideal centre half material. McMillan - tried hard but no great cover. With Higgy wide left and Lawless and Stevenson wanting to play in behind Doolan he is exposed. Carroll - thought he played ok Bannigan - picked up his normal stupid booking that will cost him as soon as a suspension kicks in. Can't remember him having much impact. Oman - is a player. Solid in the tackle, quick feet and can pass. Stevenson - poor, captain my @rse. Lawless - hit a bit of form and is all over the park. My motm Doolan - love the guy, good finish but jeez oh. Panicked when 1 on 1 in the first half. Would have killed the game. Higgy - full of effort and it is just not coming off for him at the minute. Think he is missing ATS big time. As I said Lawless and Stevenson seem to want to play in the same position. I''my not sure we can play both in the same team. Play 1 in the middle and bring SoD in to cover the right. With 2 of the best defenders in my time at Firhill sitting on the bench, I am amazed at how poor we are at the back. If St Mirren or RC go on a bit of a run, we are in trouble.
  20. Please go on all night and use your vote wisely............. This is the problem with the no campaign. Someone has asked to us to take this opportunity with both hands. I was asking what it was. I am not a passionate yesser. I was in Glasgow today and I was approached at a no thanks stand for a discussion. I simply asked to give me the benefits and I was told about what the other side had promised that they cannot guarantee. I asked them to park the other side and to win my vote. Nothing. Got some rehash of income tax etc and I asked if this was constitutionally sound. They conceded it was not, like the other side it is aspirational. Then the conversation went back into "ah but they say this and that". They did not get the fact I was prepared for them to win my vote, not scare me into the status quo.
  21. Given their start, lack of goals, playing pretty poor (apart from the opener against Motherwell)and the fact we are are estadio de Firhill, we should be looking for 3 points. Nothing less than 3 points will be good enough. We need to win the home games against the teams who are likely to be around us. A chance to go 10 points clear cannot be missed.
  22. Give me 3 guaranteed changes and I'll change my vote. Not changes back bench MPs have promised, but 3 guaranteed constitutional changes, proposed, agreed through parliament and through the lords that are on the table for us. Nope none... Ok. Give me any that have not already been opposed by MPs from all parties. Nope, none... Ok
  23. In this new found life of democracy, get a short list of songs and put it to a vote for the fans and players to pick (bit of fun). Current songs better that the Police Academy stuff. What would you nominate?
  24. We will play a lot better than that this year and not win. It was a strange game, comfortable win without dominating. Just watched the highlights again and it's amazing how different it seemed from what I saw live. I thought Doolan was poor and never kicked his rear end. Watch the highlights and see him run back, win the tackle that led to Stevenson playing the ball to Lawless for the first goal. The Pat Nevin penalty was a shocker. Lawless was as good as he has been for many a game. Bannigan needs to stop picking up stupid cautions. Seconds to go in the half and the ball is going nowhere and we give away a foul with a chance for them to pump it into the box. Higgy is a joy to watch, offer him a new contract the noooo! Carroll was not great at left back, fingers crossed he picks up over the coming weeks. A win on Friday and it will be some points margin between us and St Mirren already. Can't wait for it.
