  1. Rotten decision by Jackie. He's got this one well wrong, imo.
  2. Looks like Jackie got it wrong from top to wherever tonight. Paton's a red card always waiting to arrive, imo. Aah well. A dose of reality might kick in well.
  3. For those of us who are miles away from home, what exactly did Craig do for everyone to call him incredibly stupid??
  4. Christ almighty, do you have anything positive to say at all??? 0-0 away to Falkirk is not a disaster, so how about you wind your neck in? We are joint top, fate in our own hands. There will be numerous points dropped before mid-May. Next league game is crucial, yeah, but no need for your diatribe. 100% confident in Jackie and Sid - let them get on with it.
  5. Nothing wrong with those opinions, really. It's a plain fact that the only difference between us at the moment is the result at EEP. So plenty of work yet to do, and this Saturday is possibly the biggest challenge we'll have faced since EEP. It's where we are in May rather than September that will decide if we go up or not.
  6. Not true. Inverness in the Scottish Cup in 2006, and Morton last year.
  7. With every respect, that was a one-off cup game that we should have won out of the park. No excuses.
  8. Don't remember Andy hitting the bar, but that may be my bad memory. Certainly remember us having the best of the second half that day. That, and the previous away game at Somerset, where Ian Ferguson did us in the last minute for 2-2 were nutcrunchers that year.
  9. I'll trump all that lot in one. Thistle 0 Cowdenbeath 1 in 1993. Third round of the Scottish Cup. They were bottom of division 1 having won once all season, and we had a penalty to equalise, which the late lamented Don made a cod of. That was the pits. Apart from the already mentioned Tannadice, of course. And re season 97-98, does anyone else remember the outstanding 50 yard pass from Chic in the last minute at Cappielow, which on any other day in the history of human life would have earned us a 1-1 draw? However on this day, it fell in front of Jimmy Boyle, six yards out...............
  10. Excellent options all. One of those could make the difference. On the other hand, three more points next week could see the current crop create a momentum that would not be worth disturbing. Here's hoping.
  11. I'd prefer to discuss this once we've won the league.
  12. Be great for the Jags if that remained the case!!!
  13. Who was John Murray, and what was the game in question? And Guy summarised it succinctly, in my view. Booing Ian Black on his Scotland debut was completely unacceptable, whatever the circumstances. And as for fredthecheesecloth, take a listen to what happened at Firhill last season v Livingston if you are looking for contenders for worst fans in the world.
  14. Thanks. I had been enjoying my Saturday up until I read your post.
  15. :happy3: :happy3: You've been keeping a log since 1872 then?
  16. Get a grip. Even Buffon wouldn't have seen that one. How often do you see strikes like that come off? Are you suggesting that Scully should position himself for the one in a million strike, or the one which on the basis of probability is most likely to happen from the move that's shaping up in front of him? He got done by an outrageous hit. If anything, you should ask why the scorer got the space to control the ball, take a touch and then hit the shot of his career so far.
  17. Maybe. But it doesn't justify what happened to him on Wednesday night in any way at all.
  18. I know - I was being Mr Pedant!!
  19. When did we re-sign Cairney?
  20. Must have been getting some early practice for when they gub Sevco at Hampden during the festive period, I guess.
  21. You mentioned this elsewhere too, Charlie. What happened?
  22. I accept your point. Had they lost, then it probably would be armageddon in here, though. But fact is that we aren't out and the fringe players selected got the job done, and what's more they did so in a manner that gave them vital exposure and experience. They probably benefitted more from that type of game than scoring early and playing out a comfortable 1-0 win. So praise to them all for having the character to have completed the job successfully in the last couple of minutes.
  23. The objective at the start of the game is to score at least one more than the opposition. Job gone tonight, we're in the next round, and to boot some great entertainment for the 1605 that bothered to turn up. And yet we have some armageddonites on here?
