  1. F***. Feel for Banzo if it does affect any move down South or whatever. I'd love him to stay with Thistle but not really in these circumstances - he'd always have the 'what ifs' hanging over his head. Still, he came back from that horrendous ankle injury v Falkirk a few years back, so hopefully he can fully recover from this.
  2. Ooooof! A right kick in the haw-maws that one. To be fair to Aberdeen, their cross balls had been excellent all game - so it's no real surprise that they scored a couple of goals from them. We really should have worked out some way to deal with them. And therein lies the difference between us and Aberdeen - good quality balls in from crosses and players on the end of them. Still, we played very well - Amoo looks like a new player and Gary Fraser should have got a couple (cf the difference) . Next season - less would have, could have, should have - more did.
  3. Actually, yes. In true football cliche style - you're better off doing your talking on the pitch.
  4. Not there last night, but from the audio commentary and the highlights Welshy looked really sharp - anybody want to comment on his performance?
  5. Up to 7th. I'm just going to leave that here.
  6. Lucky we don't have any Irish players in the team so the supporters can show what a class act they are. But yes, a good gesture from Hearts towards us.
  7. Ouch. I'm never that happy when I travel in such an optimistic frame of mind, particularly to Lanarkshire. And so it proved. Utterly insipid today, looked more kick our early season selves than what we've showed recently. Very disappointing. Still, hopefully like the Dundee game it's a blip, so let's see what we can do over the next 4 (tightly packed) games.
  8. I know this is a bit off-message, but what was Dools' scoring record like for Auchinleck?
  9. Really looking forward to this too. It's about time we gave them a doing in their own midden, and the football we played on Tuesday night was the most entertaining and direct we've played in months. Same team or change things? I'd be inclined to go with the same team, but looking at the fixtures coming up it might be useful to rotate a few players. Try something different to bamboozle Mcghee.
  10. I think the nature of the giveaways is interesting - most people could have predicted a football and a scarf, but a yellow card and a cushion. I would suspect that the next giveaways may follow an even more esoteric path. I think they're brilliant - other supporters may mock, but for a football club to be trying to engage with fans and art in this way is genuinely exciting and proves that some people understand that the marketing of football doesn't have to be total empty-headed b*llsh*t
  11. That was something quite special tonight - apart from anything else, it's the first time we've beaten St Johnstone 3 times in a row since 1967. But football as entertainment: to be honest the games against Inverness, United and Motherwell gave been grim. Tonight we recovered our swagger - particularly down to Booth, Nesbitt and Doolan. I'd also like to give special mentions to Cerny and Seabo - how many clean sheets is that? It's a strange game when Banzo isn't the best player on the pitch, but tonight he was an integral part of the machine. Were we to get a European place would he stay and become part of the great Thistle experiment that we are seeing unfolding before us?
  12. This whole postponement thing went through OK for Celtic after the Commonwealth Games. Why should it be any different for us?
  13. Big lump of wood up front to aim balls at, wee nippy goal scorer to play off him. Classic.
  14. Total hostage to fortune, but I'm going to say it anyway. We're on the best run of results against St Johnstone that I can remember and I can't see any reason for tomorrow to break it. We haven't played in over two weeks so the players should be fresh and raring to go. St Johnstone aren't looking any great shakes and they took their time to get the win over Motherwell on Saturday. Dumbaya's out but Miller played well against them (understatement ) the last time out.
  15. Now that's a result. First a 6-1 victory for the Jags' FFIT team over Celtic FFIT yesterday, and now a doing from the yoot for the other half.... http://ptfc.co.uk/teams/u20/seasons/2015-2016/fixtures_results/2202_rangers_u20/live
  16. Absolutely f***ing dire. That was the game where the guy driving the travelling crane loading coal into Methil power station stopped to watch the match from his cab.....then started work again when he saw what a pile of mince it was. The game where the ball spent more time in the car park than on the pitch. The game where I had to prevented from attacking the seat I was sitting on because of the sheer misery of what I was watching.
  17. Brilliant read. Any talented animators out there want to turn this into a wee fillum?
  18. We could buy an extra one for on here when the knicker-wetting commences
  19. Ahem. 23 March 1996 - Hearts absolutely flying, Thistle staring down the barrel of the relegation gun. Final score - Hearts 2 Thistle 5. 'Cinq - deux a la Theesel' to Rousset. More of the same tomorrow please.
  20. Like Booth, a disgrace to the bad name of footballers: intelligent, lacking in crap tattoos and doesn't have an ego the size of a Jaconelli's breakfast treble roll.
  21. Apparently we got wee Nesbitt because Deila like the way Thistle play. Refund for Ronnie please.....
  22. Away to Ross County. Suddenly losing on Saturday doesn't seem quite as bad....
  23. I think the term for what has happened to Ainsworth is ' hung out to dry' . If any of our bosses turned round and said 'see that bad performance? That's down to you.', and then the rest of the staff joined in and agreed, I think most of us would be looking up the number of an employment lawyer. It's called bullying, and however much McGhee may see it as a motivational technique, it's taken quite seriously by most employers these days. I dare say a lot of it goes on in football behind closed doors - masquerading as 'character building' but it's the 21st century and really this type of managemnt behaviour should have gone out the widow with running up sand dunes till you puke. Be interesting to see the spirit of 'togetherness' displayed by the Motherwell team against Inverness....
  24. I fail to see how this can be considered good news. In terms of crap sleeve tattoos and huge egos Booth is a complete non-starter. All he does is get his head down and act as a solid, reliable left back who can get up and down the pitch. He even comes across in interviews as a balanced, intelligent person who can go beyond the usual 'the boys done great' platitudes. Great news - very chuffed for him and his record shows what an important part of the team he is.
  25. Owe them one big time in the Scottish Cup for THAT hand ball. Get them pumped in their own midden.....
