  1. He also said (after some banter with Goodwin about eating custard cakes) that he needed to watch his weight as "that's probably why I got chucked out of Firhill"!
  2. I think we'll get a point from Pittodrie.... if the game goes ahead.
  3. The kind of dogged victory we haven't been able to manage in our first two seasons up. Great stuff. Archie in!
  4. Doohlan and Lawleff were a deadly combo for well over a year... according to the BBC.
  5. Doolan's been at the heart of our revival of late. He's an absolute class act and I agree with pretty much everything said on this thread. The Hibs goal is my favourite; bookmarked on Youtube! He should be at the club for the rest of his career (and beyond as a coach).
  6. Cracking win. Can't quite believe that there was a late goal in our favour! Whatever next??
  7. Fantastic 3 points! Well done to the team, sounds like the goals were both quite special too!
  8. Great stuff - not just a win, but a decisive win and a fine team performance. Long way to go, but could it be that maybe we're not doomed, cast adrift, stick-on relegation certainties at the start of October after all?
  9. Indeed, and if I remember right, it was in place all last season too, when we finished 8th. Not that The Cup is willing us to fail, or anything.
  10. Think I might have fish and chips tomorrow. Perhaps wrapped in a newspaper with Jordan McMillan's exclusive soaking up the vinegar and oil.
  11. I'd still be happy to see him back here, as Seaborne is struggling (and is often out injured) and Conrad played very well partnering Frans towards the end of last season. Think he's been unlucky not to get a move, at least to league 2 or that sort of level, based on his form earlier this year. We could also do with a few goals from headers again!
  12. We're playing slow, scrappy, ponderous football but we've also had a tough run of games, and were always going to miss SOD - for pace and enthusiasm if nothing else. Always some ifs and buts - but we'd be looking OK in the table if we'd beaten Killie. So nope, ofther than the fact that it's a permanent crisis time on this board, it's really not crisis time. If we're adrift at the bottom at Christmas then maybe, but not in August.
  13. Being in the top flight again this season certainly doesn't fit well with your wild statements last season that (I paraphrase) we were as good as relegated and you had lost all faith and given up. I look forward to you vanishing once again when we win a few games this season. Why is it you always disappear when we win only to come back out for a gloat when we lose?? It's really strange.
  14. Roy Greenslade allegedly has some murky pals and Private Eye know him as 'Greenslime'. Broadfoot is a bigot who deserves all he gets - but Roy's not the man to be lecturing anyone else on conspiracies of silence. Apologies for being so off-topic on a match thread, especially as Broadfoot didn't even play against us!
  15. Interesting choice of journalist to report for the Grauniad on the reporting of this unsavoury incident...
  16. This. I am not really all that interested in a jigsaw, a cushion (!), a bag of sweets (!!) or a generic tartan scarf. The Greaves range of tat (keyrings, bottle-opener keyrings, mugs, even golf balls, which I've kept a box of rather than inevitably losing them all) was very good indeed. The obvious things to stock are mugs, pens, keyrings and a range of casual wear. TTL are struggling badly. To those on the thread pointing out that ebay is currently pretty much the only way to get fun Thistle merchandise - correct. I hope there is a wide range of Kingsley stuff coming up beyond just the t-shirts - but also some of the above items which, really, all clubs should be selling.
  17. We had that three seasons ago (remember 5-1 v Dunfermline, etc.?) - we won the league by 11 points. Unfortunately, the top flight is harder (is that surprising?).
  18. When the OP said he thought Port Dundas was a bit rubbish (I think many on here would agree with him), you asked him 14 specific questions in response, then another stream later. It's his opinion that a proper shop at the stadium would be better. He doesn't need to "back it up" to you with market research. I remember debating with you last year when someone was foolish enough to say they'd been to the industrial unit selling our stuff, and their report (from memory) was that it was a mess (boxes everywhere, basically not a shop), the stuff they wanted wasn't available and the service was awful. Instead of accepting that at face value, your approach was similar - a screed of passive-aggressive questions, basically telling him he was wrong and by implication a liar, and that our "shop" in Port Dundas is fantastic. Are you sure you're going about defending TTL in the right way?! Greaves haven't sold a few odds and ends from the season before the season before last. What a surprise. You seem to be arguing that that clearly proves that our club having a city centre profile is a waste of time. Many of us might disagree - and Kingsley is a good example. We are not in a position to capitalise on this (or any other unexpected/welcome boosts like a cup win) because the general public have no idea how to buy our stuff - the weblink for the t-shirts will only really have reached Jags fans even though the whole of Glasgow was talking about it - and many might pick up a t-shirt if they saw it in the city centre even now. I can't be bothered going through all the shop location stuff we've argued about again though, so that's enough from me.
  19. Great strip, love the horizontal stripes (I hesitate to say 'hoops), and red shorts/socks surprisingly works too.
  20. Miserably wrong on absolutely every point. Go to Pie and Bovril and fans of other clubs are expressing admiration and even jealousy. It's universally acknowledged as a mad, out-of-nowhere mascot/logo but iots of people like it and see it as bold, amusing and interesting (lots of thing which Scottish football usually isn't). Just because you can't get your head around it doesn't mean that it's not a positive, fun, original thing which has raised the profile of our club and which many people like. If you'd rather have an online betting company, a booze company or a pawnbroker's on our shirts like most other 'small' clubs than a striking, utterly original logo from a company who has given us a huge wadge of cash and designed by a famous fan of the club, then that's quite puzzling really. Cheer up!
  21. The club should be raking in some merchandising revenue with all this attention. Masks, t-shirts, keyrings, Wicker Man DVDs - get them out there!
  22. I like the scary mascot more than the logo with the crossed out spelling mistake, but I find them both quite funny and original. Would rather have them than be sponsored by a generic internet bookie or pawn shop.
  23. Really pleased with this as have noticed Cerny in the past putting in some good performance for the Accies. Welcome to Tomas.
