  1. For anybody to even consider dropping Lawless is mad. At this moment in the season we would be 6 points worse of :- 1-0 away against Dunfermline, (only goal), 2-0 away Livingstone(both goals) and yesterdays game would have resulted in a draw. In recent games he has been mainly used as a right midfielder, in the livingstone game he was more in the defending role than attacking and yesterday when Erskine was taken off we went to a 4-4-2 with Craig and McGuigan up front. Also he is the clubs top scorer at the moment in his first season in a new league and new team. Personally think we have not seen the best of him this season.
  2. I doubt very much there will be any standing section allowed at the final, as for a singing section, i think there should be enough high spirited Jag fans to have the place rocking all over our section. I think what the club has done with the hospitality is excellent, only a couple of hundred of our allocation has been used and the club has made some good money. With the 9 game package and hospitality and the players allocation coming to a max of 1500 there should be at least 2500 tickets for a public sale, so no real worry for anyone that wants to go.
  3. Would you let 1 of your relatives be trained by the said person, i know i wouldn`t.
  4. I asked 1 of the players tonight if he had ever heard of a guy called Jim brown and he said NO, so the s*x offender is lying.
  5. I really think there could be easily 5 or 6 thousand Thistle fans at least wanting tickets for this final. If all the thistle fans that were at saturdays game (4000) want tickets, then the usual crowd that will tag along to a final with mates (500 - 1000) and if we keep up our great run of form and style of play going till then (500) and i know that the players are needing a lot of tickets for family, so if all the players take 20 for example that adds another (500). I dont really care were the final is, just as long as ALL the thistle fans that want to go, get tickets!
  6. Was a good young keeper at Motherwell, and he should fit right into the squad as he knows Forbes, Lawless and Slane really well. As said above all players have off days and a few have been highlighted, but he is a lot more experienced than scully and in my opinion should be an ideal replacement for Fox.
  7. I am needing 56 tickets and would love around 40 for the singing section if this gets the go ahead.
  8. Brockville...I don`t know where that came from and still didn`t have a clue until you pointed it out, think it`s time for me to call it a day, lol
  9. Major rant coming, sorry in advance..... With the state of Scottish football you would think that every club in the country would try and encourage people to go along to their games, but somehow NOT Falkirk FC, first off, £4 charge to park your car (home fans get free parking) second, £12 for kids under 16 and £12 for oap`s (2 kids and 2 oap`s with me today) third, food was piss poor, stadiums a sh*t hole, Falkirk are the worst/boring team we have played, even Airdrie last week had a go and it took over 30min to get out the fecking car park, that i didn`t want to park in in the 1st place (aaaarrrrrrrggggghhhh) So to say i`m p*ssed off is an understatement and though i hate to miss a game, i will not pay good money to go that ground again !!!! Thistle should start charging every away supporter that is under 16 and oap when we play the teams that take the p*ss and charge our supporters. Rant over.
  10. Long term injury, don`t know when he will be back.
  11. Will be a really good signing for us. Was at motherwell with Lawless since they were 10 and both are really good friends, he is right footed, but can play on both wings, he is 1 of the fastest boys in the spl. At 16 he broke the 10mtr, 20mtr and 50mtr sprint records at the club, this was 1 of the main reasons he was catapulted into the 1st team. He also knows the road to goal so should stick away a few for us. He is a really quiet boy, that should fit in really well with the squad Welcome aboard Paul.
  12. You are our Lawless our Stevie Lawless, you make us happy when sky`s are grey so **** the old firm, they can`t touch you please don`t take our Lawless away
  13. Good read and a good interview... Partick Thistle will look to make it six wins in a row to open the 2012/13 season by seeing off Dumbarton at Firhill this Saturday and one player that is enjoying the growing sense of excitement at Firhill is new recruit Steven Lawless. The 21-year-old has already enjoyed one successful promotion push in his short career when he helped Albion Rovers move up via the Play-Offs in May, 2011 and he is pleased that his short stay at Firhill has seen the Jags put down a marker that they may well make a charge on the SPL during this campaign. The Jags started the season with a 1-0 win over Clyde in The Ramsdens Cup, defeated Forfar Athletic 2-0 in The Scottish Communities League Cup, won 3-1 over Falkirk in the first game of the season on home soil, triumphed in a 5-4 epic Ramsdens Cup tie at Hampden over Queen’s Park before travelling to Dunfermline Athletic’s East End Park and winning 1-0 with Lawless scoring the game’s only goal. Lawless said: “I could not have asked for a better start to my career at Partick Thistle. I joined in the summer and felt at home really quickly as the squad is made up mostly of guys my age. I only knew some of them from playing against them but the banter has been good from day one.” Thistle are Lawless’ second permanent home as he started off at Motherwell although he has also worn the colours of Annan Athletic as well as the Rovers from Coatbridge on a temporary basis and leaving Fir Park was a big step. He explained: “I was with Motherwell from a really young age and I signed for them when I was 10 which was as young as you could join a Pro-Youth set-up. I live nearby in Hamilton and it was a real thrill for me to make my debut in the first team a year ago.“It was against Clyde in The Scottish Communities League Cup and I also scored in it which was great as well.” The winger had already experienced what it was like to score in a senior game as he explained: “I went to Annan on loan at the start of the 2010/11 season as they were short of strikers. I went down for a month with Jordan Halsman, who is now at Morton, and of course, I have now been reunited with his brother Bradley here at Firhill. “I made my senior debut against Stenhousemuir in a Challenge Cup tie and I scored in that game as well but we lost 3-2. I also played against Partick the following week in the League Cup and they won that one 1-0.” Lawless returned to The Steelmen briefly and he was soon loaned out to Albion Rovers, ironically one of Annan’s promotion rivals that season. His spell at the Coatbridge club left a mark on the now 21-year-old as he explained: “I went there with Steven Meechan and Peter Innes from Motherwell. I do not know how best to describe what we found as the Albion Rovers squad was different from anything I had seen before or since. “They were a unique bunch with an incredible spirit and the banter was not for the feint hearted. Winning promotion via the Play-Offs was a really difficult task but we did it and it was an incredible Lawless added: “It was strange to begin and end my season at Annan but it was a fantastic way for that season to end.” After returning to Motherwell, Lawless scored his goal against Clyde only to get the chance to go out on loan again and there was only going to be one destination as far as Lawless was concerned. He explained: “I was doing quite well at Motherwell but I was told I could go out and gain further experience. As soon as I heard that, I said I would go back to Albion Rovers as I had enjoyed my time there and learnt a lot.” Lawless made his second time around debut in front of Fir Park Manager Stuart McCall and his assistant Kenny Black for the Cliftonhill side in a Second Division game at Dumbarton. It was a good game for the duo to see as Lawless said: “We lost 2-1 but I scored and Ross McKinnon, who was also a Motherwell player and was on loan at Dumbarton, scored as well. That must have pleased the Manager although Ross is also away from Motherwell as he has been signed by a club in Holland now. Lawless returned to Motherwell and made another top team appearance for Motherwell in a 4-0 Scottish Cup win over Queen’s Park and he thought he had done enough over the season to be awarded a new deal. “At the end of last season, I thought I would be staying at Motherwell,” said Lawless before adding, “I had heard Partick may have been interested as I had done well against them in a couple of reserve games but I did not give it too much thought.“The Thistle boss, Jackie McNamara, had spoken to Stuart McCall and got the impression I was going to be staying there as well but with all the changes that went on in Scottish football during the summer, I wasn’t.” Lawless heard of Thistle’s renewed interest in a strange way as he explained: “I was at the Motherwell Golf Day at the end of their season playing with their Goalkeeping Coach Gordon Marshall. My 'phone wasn’t working at the time so Jackie got in touch with Gordon as he knew him from their Celtic days asking for me to get in touch.” A deal was quickly agreed and Lawless has adapted quickly to being a Partick player as he said: “I scored a few in pre-season, I think it was five in six games, which was great but scoring in competitive games is what it is all about. “I scored our second goal at Forfar and then I scored with my first touch against Falkirk. That game was our first fixture in the First Division and it had a real frantic opening but Sean Welsh gave me a terrific lay-off which made it an easy chance for me. There was only four minutes played and I could not have asked for a better start to playing in the First Division.” Lawless’ goal set up a 3-1 win over the Bairns and that was followed by the nine goal thriller in The Ramsdens Cup against Queen’s Park. Lawless was on the bench at the National Stadium that night although he saw plenty of the action. He explained: “I came on when the score was 2-2 and there was about half an hour to go. It ended up 5-4 and it was a great game to win especially as I experienced about every emotion possible.“We went 3-2 up and I thought that was it and then we lost two goals in four minutes and looked to be heading out. We were in the last minute and scored two goals to go through but you had to keep checking the scoreboard to make sure that was it.” Another win came in Fife last weekend and Lawless and the rest of the Thistle camp have been buoyant this week after that success with the matchwinner saying: “That goal came straight from the training ground. The Manager and his assistant, Simon Donnelly, were working with us last week on how to move away from defenders and it worked a treat as I managed to score from a great ball from Chris Erskine. “Falkirk and Dunfermline are expected to do well in the First Division and we have beaten them both now. It is a big marker to put down and hopefully, everyone will take a lot of belief from those results as that will help us throughout the rest of the season.” After the disappointment of leaving Motherwell, Lawless knows what he wants to happen at Firhill as he explained: “I never really broke through or established myself in the first team at Motherwell. I want to do that at Thistle.”
  14. but it`s ok to sing songs about the murders of british citizens, songs with "**** the Queen, their "Blood Stained Poppy`s banner", IRA/Provo songs, anti british soldiers, ect ect ect. If you are going to give an opinion about old firm bigots, give it about both sides, because after reading the above you really come across as a mojor bigot.
  15. Thought we controlled the game as others have said before, the astro playing surface didn`t help, but a win is a win. The most disappointing thing about today for me was the attitude of some of our supporters. As soon as 1 of our players misplaced a pass or missed a chance they got jump all over with abuse. For me it`s all about encouraging the guys not abusing them with shouts of your pish or you wouldnae get a game for my boys club that i run ya big eejit. This was just some of the utter pish being spewed from behind me from fans that are meant to be encouraging and supporting their team. It was the 1st competitive match of the season, lets get behind the guys and hopefully we can all be celebrating together at the end of a successful season.
  16. Motherwell had no other option than to let Lawless go after he knocked back their piss poor offer to the boy. But the good thing from them was that they never held Thistle to ransom for compensation, he was at motherwell since he was 11 yrs old.
