  1. Given that we now have a modern ticket entry system which is linked to one of those computer things, it ought to be simple to disable U16 season books for a single game in order to maximise ticket sales. This function could easily be managed from the comfort of ones own home using the TAG Member>Profile>Settings page. Right, off to service the Jet Pack.
  2. I didn't say that Celtic fans will feel welcome but that they would be welcome. I was suggesting that, to our bean counters, Celtic fans are more valuable than Thistle fans. Sorry if this wasn't clear. For the record, I think it is wrong to have different prices for different supporters and I'm disappointed that Thistle have chosen to do this. I don't think there will be any shortage of Celtic fans at the game. Quite a few I know are looking forward to coming to Firhill. If only 4% of those who go to Porkhead attend then there will be 2,000. For 4% of Celtic fans, Firhill is closer to home!
  3. One thousand kids having the opportunity to play football for enjoyment and fitness. Brilliant. And, as you say The Arch, another great way to build a future fan base. Well done the Weir's. A well thought out project. I hope they have cause to be immensely proud of this.
  4. The pricing policy for this game makes the Board's position perfectly clear. Jags fans get, effectively, a £40 two game package and Celtic fans pay £25. Clearly Celtic fans will be more welcome than those who consider Firhill as home. I wonder what the playing squad make of this. Their much valued twelfth man being worth a fiver less to the Board than the opposition hordes. I have always travelled to East and South Glasgow to support Thistle. They are very uncomfortable places to be but I go because I believe that our players need all the support they can get in such hostile environments. This Board will, as others have before them, make Firhill an uncomfortable place for our team to play. Right now it's the last thing they need.
  5. We have a young team, inexperienced at this level and ditto the manager. This season is a steep learning curve. Has anybody noticed any change in our playing style in order to make the most of the chances we create? It seem to me we are simply running out week after week hoping that our luck will change. "Keep playing our way and results will come." I'm not so sure and I think the players confidence will be affected if we don't try something else in front of goal soon.
  6. If you don't score goals there are only two outcomes, a point from 0 - 0 or a defeat. Tonight it was defeat to a very poor Hibs team. Worrying.
  7. 26 Sept 1992 (I think), Parkhead. George Shaw double. The 3 - 1 at Hampden during the Celtic gypsy season. The result kept us up. And yes, of course, the 'John Brown, John Brown, what's the score' match. Albion Rovers at Fir Park (still can't believe they scored!) Didn't Damon's goal put us one up?
  8. Hopefully a decent turn out at all home games. Get behind Archie and the team.
  9. Thanks, SJ Agreed. Very confident strike which is a good sign.
  10. For what it's worth, here is my opinion. Had a good start to the season playing good football. Exceeded my expectation and filled me with pride. The Ross County game led me to believe that we could do well this season. However, as we have seen, they are having a relatively poor start. Things are settling down now and we're doing ok. We have a reasonable lead over St Mirren in 10th. I would have been delighted to be 7th as this point before the season kicked off. With each passing game our young players will learn. More importantly, our inexperienced manager will too. Learn about tactics, the players we have and the players we need. Yes, things could get tough, as Thistle fans we are no strangers to the bad times. I know there is a long way to go but if you think we have problems, spare a thought for fans of Kilmarnock, St Mirren and Hearts.
  11. Unable to travel to Perth today so grateful for feedback from those that did. Could you qualify that last statement. We will need to do better or ... ?
  12. Another point. Well done Thistle. Seven ahead of Killie, nine above St Paisley and miles beyond Minus of Midlothian. 8 games in and 7th in the league. I'll take that. Mon the Jags.
  13. Chic Dung half time summary: Thistle didn't make the most of their chances. Sounds familiar.
  14. Listened to the radio. It seemed that we played great football in the first half without troubling their keeper. Not much value in that. Possibly confidence sapping for younger players. Certainly not time to press the panic button but time to try other options up front, couldn't do much worse as recognised strikers have only managed one goal this season.
  15. ... Oh Bazongas we love you ... I'm in!
  16. Why don't they just accept that Rangers went out of business and get on with supporting the new club, showing a little humility.
  17. ... It is the home of Partick Zangers ... No, sorry, I'm out.
  18. Chic: "Anthony Stokes, sliding in, just couldn't get the ball over the line. In fact it's Lustig" F*ck this, where's that dying sheep?
  19. If I read your post correctly, you claimed that anyone who lives in central Scotland could attest to the fact that incidents of domestic violence tend to spike after a Celtic - Rangers match. Narrowing it down as you suggest simply makes it slightly less of a sweeping statement. Given the vile, bitter hatred that many fans of these teams embody, I am not surprised by claims of domestic violence increase around the time of these 'sporting contests'. However, I have no evidence and I imagine that it would be difficult to prove such a link.
