Many of them have been signed and have previously played under McCall and I would imagine are very loyal not to mention many are out of contract at end of the season and may have thoughts on where next rather than playing under a first time manager who is only an interim .

Of course the board are within their rights to make the decision but I think the (very inexperienced interim) board have made a wrong decision and I fear the worst for the rest of the season but hope I’m wrong . Interestingly the more experienced boards of raith rovers and ICT despite having had very poor runs chose to stick with their managers. The championship is a crazy league- win 3 games in a row and your back in it. Ask yourself do you really think Doolan has a better chance of doing that with a group of players many of whom will be very cheesed off

Changing manager at the moment would be madness. IMO It’s quite clear we aren’t good enough to go up but having said that we still have a chance of top 4 and while that is still a possibility you cannot sack a manager unless you have someone who is almost 100% gonna do a better job. The time to take stock is towards the end of the season. Got a feeling that the gaffer may decide enough is enough or may move upstairs. If we were in a relegation fight then maybe yes change manager. Think it is also worth remembering McCall came back in our hour of need and brought us back up first time of asking. He has also kept some resemblance of stability when it has been chaos above him for most of the season. Let’s take stock in April. btw my opinion is that it will be time for change but only if we have someone who can do better. no doubt everyone will be throwing Ian Murray’s name in now because he has had a few good results !!

Before deciding on this let’s have some suggestions of who would do a better job . Interestingly on this forum some of the the favourites I’ve heard in the past was Danny Lennon , Jim Goodwin and others who have been failures. Beware as we could end up with someone who would be really bad

think the board etc know we are not good enough to go up this year therefore not worth taking a punt on any new signings. Makes sense

Thought darvel were very impressive and would give anyone a decent game. Have a bit of money behind them and can attract good quality players who prefer to be part time.

No easy answer to this- risks involved for all options. The one thing I suppose is that the players still seem to be behind the gaffer - not like he has lost the dressing room.

Problem is with the injuries and players we have who would make any difference?

So McCall did a great job getting us back into the championship and we shouldn’t forget that. Looks broken in the post match interview . Shame as he is such a big thistle fan and has had some real rotten luck with injuries in the last month. Can see why people want change but getting someone new in also brings risks. Tricky one.
