  1. From what I've been told, not so. A similar outcome to that of the Halliwell deal looks more and more likely, which was is penny-pinching in a sense.
  2. I too heard a rumour about this bounce match. I assume Balatoni and possibly Flannigan would be involved. McCall said he wanted another match to look at Balatoni.
  3. Unless he receives a better contract offer from an other Club, I'm still confident he will sign. There is money for the Flannigan signing, no need to worry about that.
  4. That was the plan yesterday was it not? but left it because, even though the Star wasn't that busy it was still a bit too loud. The plan is to do it later in the week, when it is quieter?, which would be best.
  5. Brilliant news. Good on the folks who do the JagsCast for accepting this request. Should be some excellent stories from back in the day.
  6. People who pay by card at rush hour time on the Subway. No problem if it isn't busy, but not at 8.45am, causing a que to build up. With normally 2/3 of the machine ticket machines not working at Hillhead, makes it even more frustrating.
  7. I passed Jim Duffy a sheet with all the football odds on it, in the Tote Sport bookies, next to the Woody. Very polite. I was star-struck for a good few minutes after.
  8. Cracking guest due, later next week. Guaranteed some excellent stories. One for the older fans I'm sure.
  9. Link Why does he keep doing this? “It has never been easy to follow Partick Thistle. There are always good times and I hope we will enjoy plenty of that this term. I believe we will see skilful, entertaining football and I think there is a lot to look forward to at Partick Thistle.” I'm sorry but what is there to look forward to exactly? Ever decreasing player budget, supporters losing interest, inevitable two sided stadium on the way.
  10. You're crap at this, really. Just stop.
  11. What about folk who were involved, giving their own opinion into matters only to be told "yeah, but you don't have a vote". What sort of attitude is that?, there lies the problem. Until certain folk in Trust have a serious reality check on their attitude towards folk who may not have such an influential role as themselves then I don't expect a major influx of new people joining. There are good people in the Trust, it's a shame actions from other tarnishes the work they do.
  12. Or more importantly if on trial, would they even get a deal?, considering Halliwell isn't even signed up yet.
  13. Old ones or the new ones?
  14. First half - nothing really. Cancelled each other out. Both full backs were solid, I thought. Hard to judge MacBeth when he has been put out on the right hand side, he's got good vision, just need players around him to be on the same wavelength at times. Grehan played well I thought, good presence at times brought others into play. Second half - In the first 15 minutes there was a spell when we passed the ball about really well. No tippy tappy stuff as people have labelled from last season. We kept the ball really well at times and if an attack didn't go to plan, we got it back and kept it. Bristol Rovers couldn't get the ball. Their first goal was a good strike, young Bannigan came on and with his first touch lost the ball and the guy went onto to strike it past Halliwell. Looked like it picked up a bit of speed when it hit the wet surface, someone else confirm this?, I sitting pretty low down. Either way it was good strike. Second goal, can't remember much. I think we had the ball gave it away cheaply then they went onto score. Boyle needs to know when theres plenty of space, to bomb forward. I thought Cairney was our best player, Rowson had a good game too I thought. Halliwell made a really good save in the 2nd half too. McGeogh done well when he came on. Buchanan doesn't look fit at all. What worries me is in the flat 4 midfield, they were all centre midfielders. Not fair to judge MacBeth yet if he is being played out of position.
  15. It'd the BoD who are stalling, someone I know was talking to McCall.
  16. William Hill 11/8 Thistle 6/4 Bristol Rovers I'm not a betting man but a fiver on Bristol rovers looks very tempting.
  17. That maybe so but I wouldn't see how certain members of the Board swapping positions would help. Maybe if Jim Alexander was chairman he could help build the bridges between the BoD and the fans. A man who alot of folk admire for being very approachable, friendly and even travelling on supporters buses, speaking to the fans face to face. Theres only one outcome for the Club if things remain the way as they are. Maybe there is, maybe there isn't, although I can understand why you have that view. I certaintly don't, the last thing I want is to feel more and more apathetic over the Club's current predicament. I want to walk upto Firhill feeling proud of the everything about the Club I support, but I don't. As time goes on I don't want to attend Firhill every second week out of sheer loyalty, with near on no ambition shown by the club.
  18. This is mentioned time and again. How do we know this for definite? We don't, and before anyone starts the usual "knight in shining armour" stuff, I highely doubt there is one out there, but theres always a possibility. With regards to fresh investment, I remember back on .net one poster said that a buisness offered to invest £40k into the playing budget and Cowan never got back to him. Read into that what you want but it wouldn't surprise me one bit. Just like it wouldn't surprise me that certain members on the board have lied to the fans regarding new investors if it meant that their positions were under threat. After all were all used to the constant patronising comments coming out of Cowans mouth, aren't we?
  19. The Bobby Law one is excellent.
  20. How was the trialist at centre back? The short match report here said he looked impressive. Match Report
  21. Currently winning 1v0, Flannigan freekick - top corner. Another trialist playing too apparently. link
