  1. Forced to listen to Hoff the Ball instead.
  2. There is no other Thistle in the senior Scottish leagues. Inverness are Caley Thistle and it would be an insult to half of their recent history to refer to them simply as Thistle.
  3. If he makes it to the Aitken Suite, will he order a Hoff pint?
  4. Solve the problem by playing Amoorhead.
  5. I think it was in the 78th minute-it happened so fast. Jackson clearly felt he had taken a hit.
  6. So Still Game is not to be repeated.
  7. and were then gubbed 1-3 by them in our worst performance in living memory.
  8. I am a huge Chris Erskine fan and would love to see him return, but am currently not hopeful of that happening soon. I was a "mole" enjoying hospitality from a Dundee United supporting friend on Saturday (well done Jags-you did me proud!!). Chris (after a very difficult start 2 seasons back) is currently popular with the Tannadice support and seems to have become a better player in their eyes through not playing over the past few months. There were moans and groans as other players turned back in promising positions (much as we were doing at the start of the season) but great anticipation when Chris came on and really zipped into the game. He was the one player doing it for them and may well be seen as the type to inspire a great escape. So little chance of a transfer window departure I would surmise. There are two scenarios that could perhaps work for us: 1) Chris plays well but cannot save the Arabs from relegation. He then looks to remain in the Premier League and Thistle is the natural destination, as he does not need to prove himself to the manager. 2) Chris' confidence is drained by the general tangerine malaise and his form dips. He becomes part of a wholesale Mixu clear out and looks to revive his career at Firhill. The Dumbuya extension gives hope that we could offer a longer term deal, which I think was and is an important factor in Erskine's considerations, due to family circumstances. So maybe short term unlikely, but longer term rather more optimistic?
  9. Fantastic stats. With Dave Ness in your team, who needs Jamie Vardy? Looking at the beginning of the 2005 run, how did we manage to have 5 home league games in a row?
  10. Lawrence of Arabia obviously. Always enjoyed a victory over the Arabs!
  11. Article on BBC website about Stuart Regan has him talking about "both sides of Glasgow". Absolutely shocking whether these are the actual words of a Scottish football officebearer or the spin of a lazy BBC journalist. I also caught the BBC Scotland preview of our game on the car radio tonight. Aberdeen/Hearts and even St Johnstone/Celtic were considered by discussing both teams involved in the game. We then had ten minutes talk about Dundee United, their manager, their formations, their players, their strengths, their weaknesses, their manager (again), their need to win games like this and to start climbing the table, and finally their need to defend well because Partick Thistle scored 5 goals last time out. End of preview.
  12. We were all getting hot under the collar and shouting for a booking for the obvious dive, and Willie Young's gesture calmed us down and got us smiling. Maybe Willie Collum and Craig Thomson could learn something.
  13. Agreed but have to concede that Thommo is more deadly even than Dools in throwing the javelin.
  14. Yes he was busy totten up the corners as we hammered Falkirk 5-1
  15. Trawling these bogus depths dredged up the magical Mustapha Dumbuya
  16. Paul McGrillen. Did he score more for us or against us?
  17. Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale TJR, Have we ever played a team with 4 names?
  18. Need to get in training in case we draw Inverurie Locos
  19. Kenny Deuchar scored numerous times against us but did partly redeem himself with a mighty own goal for us (while playing against us at Firhill). Damon Gray slightly undid his good work against Rangers Oldco by netting for Berwick Rangers when they knocked us out of one of the wee cups
  20. Robbie Muirhead was rather disappointing in the first half and with him being booked, I thought that at half time he should have been subbed by David Amoo or Ryan Stevenson. I made the mistake of texting my daughter who was listening in Edinburgh to "Open all gobs" to suggest this, as she kept gleefully reminding me throughout the second half, while he made one and scored two!! Good thing that Archie rather than me decides on the subs. Is Craig Thomson the most arrogant referee in Scotland? His performance especially in the "second half of the first half" was shocking.
  21. He had to come off his line very smartly in the second half to grab the ball at the advancing forward's feet.
  22. You would have thought that David BT could supply phones all round.
  23. Looks like my hazy memory has received the royal endorsement, unless we were both dreaming.
  24. I agree with the general thrust of what you are saying, but the high cross did work quite well later in the game!
  25. My daughter was in Edinburgh listening to Open All Gobs and said that Chick credited the first goal to Stevie Lawless even as the chants of Doooooooooolan were coming clearly over the radio.
