  1. Nomads like Topcat and Norgethistke have a valid question and deserve to have their opinions heard and treated with respect. JJ has picked up on the concerns, leave it with onethistle to discuss with the club. I look forward to meeting as many Nomads at the Cup Final as I can, assuming i remember to apply for a ticket in time!! S
  2. This. Agree with the very many good points above. This team is playing for each other, for Jackie, for the Club, for the fans. We have strength, depth, flexibility and resilience. Thistle are purring right now.
  3. If you had taken your hat off on Saturday, you would have got a bit wet! I'm proud to help our Club by volunteering alongside Lance, Jim, Dave J, Ian Mac and the many others who are helping bring the onethistle 'Firhill for Thrills' matchday strategy alive. Special shout out to Paul, Gary, Karen (mad welshy), Euan, GettingJaggy, Charlene and Colin for working the queues, JHS concourse and observing in the stands during the game. Bit by bit, we are building up the case for improvements; repainted row numbers, clearer kids zone signage etc. There is a long way to travel yet, but we have enthusiasm to overcome obstacles and some scepticism. Judge us by our continued actions - we all love this club. The fact that Jackie is putting a great product out onto the park always helps. I celebrated some of our goals on Saturday so enthusiastically, I got raised eyebrows from the two North Stand stewards Onethistle are putting in a shift behind rhe scenes; this is not always visible, but that itself is not important. Onwards and upwards.
  4. Happy to help support this; will speak to Lance and Jim on Sat
  5. Top post. Is Willjag just Siggy in disguise?
  6. Just split my sides. Siggy, you can have my Bushmills polo shirt which looks like a rugby shirt; I am THAT rich a gentleman. Norgethistle, you get him a Faroese woolly bunnet and email it to me and I can pass it on to the sigmeister at the next home game Get yourself into the Shed and Potty Trained will introduce to you everyone !
  7. Daxington Preamble, we need tomget this sorted; unacceptable. So that's going into my matchday experience report as an action. Willjag, I was not aware of the Comps issue until Greig/Colin gave me more background on Twitter last night. Again, this will be tackled. Cheers, Sandy
  8. Aye both, especially when I was choosing matchday tunes a couple of games ago (e.g Ivor Cutler)
  9. I managed volunteers within stands yesterday Julie Ann. It was not someone volunteering for OneThistle, i can assure you. Like JJ already has. If you see this practice again, ask the persons name and let us know?
  10. Siggy, great to have you back mate. Bring a book to the North Stand at the next home game and I'll give you a football top you do not have in your collection. It would be a pleasure to meet your real persona
  11. Leave this with me. Also thanks for feedback on piped crowd noise; that clear message will get relayed (ideally via tannoy!) to the Club in due course. Glad to see some concrete step seat row numbers had already been repainted yesterday; little steps towards a better matchday experience for all... Cheers, Sandy
  12. Enjoyed the weather, assured performance first half but a bit nervy second. Got to meet Donald Findlay and his sideys Usual thread for fan feedback on matchday experience, good or bad. Try to make it solution focused
  13. It's a strange one this. From what I know of the SA supporters trust, it's a pity. They are good guys, struggling a bit to make their mark and help run a Club whose on-field performance has slipped badly. The SA Operations Director does not help the situation much either; I think he might be out of his depth here.
  14. I'm afraid with the loss of many good people from the Trust Board over the last 3 years, there is arguably more talent outside looking in than inside gazing out. I'm with Mr Trained and Yoda on this issue. Sadly the Trust has been stifled by thebold timers and has lost both members and respect; it's a pity, given the honourable intentions of Messers Heron ET al. At the end of the day, chasing political battles is fruitless; the kind of one thistle volunteering effort that Jim & Lance are fostering, is the way forward.
  15. Gus, not sure if you jest about the DVDs mate but I'd have one off you....
  16. There is some brilliant analysis and well-made feedback on this thread. Thanks Blackpool Jags, Arnand2 and Fearcher amongst others for helping me understand (even better) a game I saw live. We will follow Thistle ...
  17. I enjoyed the Alba coverage last night. Before the game I was talking to some of their technical and presenting team, they all seemed sound and genuinely dedicated to delivering a quality transmission. And they were complimentary about the Thistle welcome. Agree with posters above. Billy Brown called it SO wrong, if cameras come to Firhill surely the Club needs to open Main Stand so we look as if we have more than 1 man and a dug supporting us. A good pal in Manchester watched a bit of the game online and thought we had no support at all! By all accounts, even with the SFL3 daughters of darkness games, Alba might struggle to justify a further SFL contract. That would be a real pity on all sorts of levels; I was looking forward to learning a chant about pink socks in gaelic. Btw PT and Ian Mac. I made a rash promise to buy your lot a round if we won yesterday. Offer can be redeemed within Star & Garter at next home game...
  18. My poor steak pie got abandoned when Erskine scored his second!
  19. As per usual, any feedback on matchday experience to include in the onethistle report? Catering, toilets, turnstiles, stewarding, etc Cheers, Sandy PS Cracking result with 2 excellent goals and one assist from Erskine
