  1. So now that the SFA have failed to do the right thing, how will our Club Board attendee vote on Friday? It would be nice to get some clarity on PTFC intentions....statement five anyone?

    I'm Off!

    Bye (waves at Tom)
  3. Whatever happens on Friday, the actions and words of the main pro-newco perpretrators will not be forgotten for a long time. Regan, Traynor, Doncaster, Burley... It's like a roll-call of shame
  4. MP, a fans gathering tomorrow and a united statement addressed to our Club Board, would be worth a shot to keep the issue warm before Friday 13th. I'd offer to organise, but I'm 250 miles from Alloa this week. But any gathering and/or petition can have my remote support.
  5. As they used to say, 'Smile, you're in Alloa'. Gonna miss this game cos I'm up north this week, but I admire what Paul Hartley has done there. Should be a good one. Mon the Jags!
  6. That'll be Antonia working her magic behind the scenes...
  7. If that's what Craig Burley says, I'm proud to be a muppet. Better than being a tool
  8. It might simplify things on July 13th if Newco took that reality pill and asked in advance to be considered for application into SFL3. That would enable the SPL to give Dunfermline & Dundee a fair play-off and the SFL to deal with the reshuffling of the likes of Airdrire etc. Incidentally I saw the Wee Red Book on sale today; just how out of date will those fixtures be in 3 weeks time...
  9. Don't think I'll be visiting Ochilview again in a hurry; poor show Stenny
  10. Regan should resign after such a ridiculous statement about 'social unrest'. Has he not heard the Gers fans who are happy to start again in Division 3? Tube.
  11. BBC reporting that the SPL vote on newco may not actually take place today. If such a delay is true, how the f*** can the SFL Clubs have a meaningful and conclusive meeting next week?? The SFA needs to get a grip on this shambles.
  12. Aye, that's how to communicate. Nice one East Fife.
  13. One for the playlist, Lance. New Orders previously unreleased recording of Blue Monkey... Can be played anytime our friend La Scimmia Rossa feels a bit down on the Forum
  14. It's an emotive time for all cconcerned with Thistle at the moment. As JJ posted yesterday, any perceived delay with opening up OneThistle is simply a reflection that it still early days with structures etc. The Club Board also need to be fully on board with the practicalties of fan involvement. Ian, Dave, Lance, Jim and others have been doing some good work behind the scenes. I can understand some frustrations LMJ, but maybe we just need to give OneThistle the benefit of the doubt as they start to move things forward over the summer?
  15. Liittle_Miss_Jag, 1JL and McKennan all make valid points. My understanding is that up till now the Club themselves have been running the volunteers. This is an area where OneThistle could help improve; and recognition for people's efforts would need to be a key element of that. There is much potential to get everyone more involved and feel part of the matchday effort.
  16. Increasingly this whole newco fiasco has shown what a mess Scottish football is in. It needs radical, well-thought through (not knee-jerk) reconstruction. But while it is still in the mire, I dont want my Club to be complicit in allowing newco to continue to block progress towards a clearer, fairer future from the grassroots up. Values and Integrity do matter. Mr Beattie, you have no alternative but to vote No.
  17. Monkey, I think the situation is more complex than that. JJ has never indicated unequivocal backing for the Club Board. As I understand things, it's about OneThistle getting fans involved in determining not only the quality of the Firhill experience but the long term sustainability of the Club. As i say, im not involved but I'm prepared to give it a chance to make a difference
  18. CJ, I dont think he is saying it's finished. But I'll let him clarify when he has the time to read & respond. We all want the best for the Club we love
  19. I'm not currently part of the OneThistle initiative, but I believe it offers a way forward to fan involvement in creating a better experience at Firhill. JJ has some really good ideas. I suspect any reticence on his part is simply reflective of the fact that OneThistle don't want to get drawn into the politics that have dogged the Jags Trust; also, that JJ still has to get the Club Board to fully accept the positive role that OneThistle can play. Knowing some of the OT people involved, I'd say give it a chance to develop over the next 2-3 months.
  20. Except on Mondays when I am Spartacus
  21. Strong stuff but clear, Yoda. The mark of a Jedi Master - may the force be with you!
  22. To be fair to JJ, I think he's making us aware of all sides of the argument by asking what if... There are few people that are more Thistle-minded than Jim and he has put a huge amount of energy, time and money into the Club over the years. That said, it's still a no from me to the idea of newco anywhere near SFL1
  23. McKennan, who is trashing the Club? I was initially sceptical when I read the OP, but I've asked a few folk and it appears to reflect a situation that happened. I don't know the lady concerned and of course everyone is entitled to have a persoal opinion. The difficulty arises if you are acting as an official communicator for the club and you express a strong view to a hack, a view that runs counter to the Club position of 'no comment'. That strikes me as naive at the least, if not rather clumsy and potentially dangerous at such a sensitive political time. Are you happy to accept this as ok? Any trashing of the Club is more likely to come from hacks with their own agenda, who will be delighted to use unofficial opinion from the Club Comms person.
