  1. Every person I spoke to, or heard talking, wants Caldwell out. Everybody.
  2. Very emotional day. To see that team line up at the beginning together was brilliant. What a fantastic group of players. Both Squiddy and Jimmy Craigen think it is still good enough to win the championship - maybe not with Archie in it mind you! ATS says he would come back in a minute. Personally I would love to see it.
  3. I agree with both of you, in as much as we should be exploring all avenues. However, my point is that this guy is playing way down the Junior ranks and if this is the route we are going to take, would it not be better looking at players playing in the top divisions? It is hard enough going from the likes of League 2 to Championship, never mind fourth tier of Junior league to Championship. To give you an indication of the gulf, Premier League side Pollok beat Shettleston ( League One favourites) 10-1 last month, Jordan McGrotty et al. Ashfield are the division below Shettleston, The standard is not great.
  4. Ashfield not up to much these days and play in the 4th tier. I'm not saying the boy isn't good but it isn't a great level and would be a massive jump. Ex Jag Jordan McGrotty banging in goals for Shettleston in the division above.
  5. I can't see anything more recent than 26th July DD. Am I missing something?
  6. Only thing I'd heard about Penrice was a possible bid from Killie but I was only talking about Banzo and O'Ware. The Killie bid may or may not be true but entirely different circumstances to the other two.
  7. I don't know who has to apologise, nor who they have to apologise to. Bannigan and O'Ware were told by Caldwell that if they could find clubs before the deadline they were free to go. For whayever reason, this doesn't seem to be happening. Gerry Britton said yesterday he had "heard the rumour" but said it wad unlikely they would leave. Perhaps he has intervened. Perhaps the players couldn't get decent deals? Doesn't mean it wasn't true.
  8. Caldwell was appointed on a contract until June 2020. It's not rolling. Archie and Shaggy were originally on 12 month rolling contracts (as was Jackie Mac) but both signed three year deals in 2016, hence the reason they were still being paid until June this year.
  9. Zanatta had a great debut and almost won us the game on his own. Hall the opposite, he looked ropey throughout but hasn't played a lot of football recently so can perhaps be excused. I think he will be a good addition. Gordon's red was probably a bit unfair but it was a stupid challenge and completely unecessary, possibly fuelled by adrenaline from scoring a minute earlier. Bannigan knew exactly what he was doing and was as clear a sending off as you will see. What annoyed me about the ref was his inconsistency and his reluctance to punish Ayr players for bookable offences. Williamson usually looks decent going forward but poor in defence. Yesterday he looked neither and his performance was awful across the board. Bannigan's frustration perhaps came from losing the captaincy to new fans favourite, yet still an absolute cart horse, Sean McGinty. Perhaps we should play him up front, he looked really good in the last third a couple of times compared to constantly kicking the ball out the park or to the opposition when he is in defence. Yes, he's improved from last season, but still loves giving the ball to the other team. We've lost 8 goals in the last three games. It can't go on. Unlike a lot of others, I was definitely one for giving the manager a chance but after Cappielow last week I said I couldn't take his brand of hoofball any more. Yesterday did look a bit better and it is difficult to appoint too much of the blame to Caldwell. However, bottom of the table after four games brings its own pressure and, if we don't get a couple of wins soon, it may be another long season.
  10. John Lapsley and George Clark correct. Joe Sweeney the other.

I was told a European manager is already lined up but, from what I've read about the Americans, I think Caldwell would fit in well with their business model. I won't be surprised if he is kept on.
  12. Not that I know of TL. Pretty sure if things had progressed he would have played some part against Falkirk but that's just my opinion.

https://ptfc.co.uk/ptfc-news/club-statement-6/ Move on. There is nothing to see. Until there is.

  15. No link. Someone I know saw the team training. I agree. He's played first team football since a very young age and I'm sure he has had more than one bad injury. However, if he can stay injury free, I think he could be an excellent signing. If we sign him!
  16. Was never a big fan of Fox, regardless of the way he left. Decent shot stopper but never did well with one on one situations, I always felt he let too many goals in under his body. Added to that he is vulnerable at his near post. As others have said though, he has been playing reasonably well for Ross County so must be doing something right. Interesting situation as there is no way Fox has been brought in to be number two but I'd like to see Sneddon give a him a run for his money.
  17. Fraser Fyvie on trial this week. I think he would be ideal for us.
  18. Correct. Those two plus a keeper, no idea who that is though.
  19. That guy was at the wind up. Be interested to see where Feruz does go though.
  20. I remember when I was very young, reading a reserve match report in the programme. I asked my Dad if he knew anything about the "Newman" brothers as there were four of them playing for the team.
  21. Firstly, in terms of numbers (of decent players) but also ability to win games. Added to that - Caldwell did well in January window. I fully expect him to bring in a higher quality of player in the next two months than Archie did last year.
  22. There are still two months left before the transfer window left. I think if you are comparing the squad to last season, it is only fair to do so at the same time as last season. We are way ahead where we were a year ago.
