Will Kenny Miller be a success? Only time will tell. What is tiring is the moaning about not offering Doolan a contract at 32 and signing Miller at 39. Doolan was not released because of his age. He was released because he couldn’t do what our manager wants him to do. Will he score goals for Ayr? He will probably score most of his goals against us if Football history tells us anything. Will we finish above Ayr despite this? I think so. Miller has a track record of doing what our manager wants. From what I have read (admittedly could be fake news) Miller has always looked after himself really well. Let’s look at the positives.

Great point Thirds. Sandy (or Mrs Archibald as she may be referred to) is never critical of the previous manager but very very quick to be negative towards a manger that’s unbeaten now in six games this year. I can feel the devastation.

Great win against a decent team who are taking out sides a lot higher in the league than us. Dare I say well done to the management team for making the tough decisions that have resulted in the current upturn in fortunes? Well done Gary Caldwell, enjoy the win.

After reading this topic for some time I am of the opinion that some are going to be devastated if Caldwell manages to turn the team around

Let me say firstly that as we appointed GC as manger, he should be given time and resources to build a team that reflects him and his ideas. What worries me is that he seems to come from the same modern day coaching school as our previous manager ie football by numbers/ transition/ possession etc. IMO totally wrong for the position and league that we are in. I’m also concerned about some ideas that are still being peddled around such as promotion and the supposed fact that we have a talented squad. I agree that the manager should have a good look at the team and decide who can do it and who can’t but players such as spittal, storey, erskine, are the reason we are in this mess in the first place. Add to that storer, slater, mutumbo, Ntambwe and you have back to back relegation. I’ve heard a lot about our attacking options but our lack of goals proves that we really have no options at all. Don’t even get me started on the defence. That’s just plain and simple mismanagement.
