  1. I fall into that bracket. The closest we ever came was the League Cup shoot out calamity in 2002
  2. I'm amazed that he played as many games as that to be honest. We persisted with him and several others and that was our weakness which ultimately had a part in our demise. If the SOD rumour is true, which it very well could be, then Archie has been better for him than his agent. He moved to Kilmarnock, worked under a decent manager that took a struggling Kilmarnock, who incidentally were worse than us for 2 or 3 seasons on the trott prior, and transformed them into a regular Old Firm beating best of the rest side. We go into free fall while O'Donnell is now a regular fixture in the international team, something that would never have happened for him if he had moved back to Firhill. You only need to look at Livingston's recent run, 10 games unbeaten, won 8, drew 2 with Celtic. They have took more points off Celtic in 5 days than we have done in 25 year. We can only dream to be that good. Infact, we cant go on a run like that in the league were in now. Hello Doctor, can I get a repeat prescription please.......
  3. We have went from nightmare to nightmare. You forget about one and realise we're right into another
  4. Recommending is one thing, actually signing him was far worse.
  5. I was suggesting more that if a club in the leagues that can play football came in and took our players but that would be be the realms of fantasy. Perhaps with the exception of Niang who has shown a glimmer of light in an endless dark tunnel.
  6. If it went to the clubs to vote to call the season, Falkirk at the moment stand to gain. Would they change their stance from last year, of course they would. Likewise if we were good enough to be top of League One, we would change the way we voted last year. Nobody really cares about other clubs and its all self interest. Unfortunately we are again not good enough to be in that position because we dropped points against the likes of Peterhead, Clyde and Dumbarton. The reality is, the season should never have started in the first place. Without fans, the game is nothing and there is less money which frankly is unsustainable, especially to a full time team like ourselves. The baw is most definitely burst. How can there be sporting integrity when teams in the championship who we are competing against for players are allowed to play football when we are not? That being said, if the season doesnt start up again till later in the year, I wouldnt be against letting all the players and management go and building again from scratch because prior to the leagues being stopped, we were going nowhere fast.
  7. Good idea by Falkirk, that will be two home games they have saved in electricity. I wonder if we will follow suit when we transfer over to fan ownership given the top priority was being carbon neutral..........
  8. Funnily enough, a defeat at Ross County should have been our watershed moment. Archie should have been pumped then. Instead we stuck out of blind faith. Mistake after mistake has followed, now we are in League One, blown all the money, and are now are entering Dick Campbell territory. A full time team that cannot be coached basic things in a part time league.
  9. The hand out by the Government has a condition that it cant be spent on transfers. Ross County pumped their manager yesterday, no room for sentiment there. If it was here at Partick Thistle, there would be guys on here saying, after all he's done, he's a legend, were giving him the bullet before Christmas, its a disgrace blah blah. Again, if we had won at Parkhead, that would have given the manager at least another 2 year goodwill in the bank. There is the difference, and that is how to run a football club. No room for the old pals act up there.
  10. The problem is, McCall's long term plan includes Banzo. He's another that should be joining the legends at East Kilbride. Anyone can play in the middle of the park and play a square pass, yet sometimes he even makes that look difficult. The backbone of our team is the same injury prone failures of the past. He keeps harping on about how excited he is about Rudden. He's never made any impact at all after approaching a year. He's only made cameo appearances in about half a dozen games, in a year. Lucky if he's played a combined total of 2 hours. Some job if you can get it. Ive done more work before my first tea break this morning than he has done in a year. That is only one example of the 'It will be alright on the night' attitude hoping that they will eventually come good, by such time we are adrift in the League and now closer to the bottom than we are the top. Firhill for easy money
  11. Absolute must win today ahead of next weekend. Nice comfortable 3 nil win
  12. Well, being highly unlikely that a team from League one won the Scottish Cup, i would take the cup glory and all the publicity that went with the roy of the rovers storyline. The prize money would easily offset the loss of being relegated, and people born from the 80's would have their day at Hampden. How does that sound?
  13. You never said anything about getting relegated, however seeing as your being pedantic, why is that when winning a cup is discussed, there has to be a choice of relegation as the alternative. Surely they don't have to go hand in hand. We certainly know how to do the relegation bit, its about time we were able to feature in the later stages at Hampden. By the term diddy league, we're in the third tier of Scottish football playing against mostly part time teams on the brink of obscurity.
  14. If winning a diddy league is in your eyes greater than winning a domestic cup, that in itself speaks volumes
  15. Well it doesn't exactly leave us in a promising position to continue the sequence, thats for sure. Here's a thought. When we finished in the Top 6 along with the Perth Saints, Livingston were in League one, St Mirren were nearly relegated to the same league and Hibs were in the League below us. That's your Semi finalists, and were entertaining Peterhead this weekend in a quest to cling onto Falkirk's coattails. Bring on 2026
  16. Well thank **** for that. There was me waiting patiently all this time for 2021 but I have another 5 year to wait to see us do something. That makes me feel much better.
  17. The Thistle sequence, a domestic trophy every 50 years.
  18. I've not seen any update on the injury front. Rudden seems to come back for a game then out for month. Need more options than relying on Big Mad Mental Brian Graham up front to score goals
  19. He was capable of doing great things. We just didnt see enough of it. Unfortunately he was seeking medical attention more than he was playing
  20. These 3 are responsible for breaking the sequence. The rest of our lack of success is mainly down to our arses collapsing when we face the old firm and in general not being good enough, perhaps too soft even. I mean, we cant even win the challenge cup for god sake.
  21. St Mirren v Livi Hibs v St Johnstone That is the semi final for the 20/21 league cup. If we had been half decent we could have repeated our sequence. Cheers to Archie, Caldwell and McCall for their efforts to get us where we are now.
  22. I thought he would have been one that moved on to bigger and better, but injury and perhaps attitude seen him follow us to the sea side league. He seemed to have it all but instead became a liability.
  23. I had to rub my eyes there. I thought I saw Jim Slavin
  24. Its an even worse miss than I first thought. He deserved getting the pish getting ripped out him by the keeper after that.
